Hartland Shoe Repair

I thought I would try Hartland for two reasons: First, I was concerned that the other shoe repair place I was using was not providing the quality of work that I wanted. Second, my work hours made the other place difficult to get to and I was hoping somewhere closer to my house, like Hartland, would make it a little more convenient. The owner seemed to know a lot about what the problem was and the shortcuts others had used to repair them. It seemed that he would do a good job and the price was also reasonable ('too cheap' was my first reaction). When he told me that the shoes wouldn't be ready for over a month-and-a-half I was not happy since I use my shoes for work, but I happened to be going on vacation for some of the time and thought I could make it work without them. The shoes actually took a little bit longer to fix, but he called me that week to let me know that they wouldn't be done yet. He did get them done within a week of the due date and called me again when they were done. I just got them back so I can't speak to the longevity of the repairs, but they look great and appear to have had a quality repair job.

Gene really went the extra mile on getting these done- it was an old style and hard to get replacement soles. He managed to find what may be the last two sets in the country in my size, and the work was fantastic. It look a little longer than anticipated, but I think that's reasonable considering how hard it was to be able to get the materials at all. This wasn't my first experience with Gene, and won't be my last. He always does good work at reasonable prices.

The service is always good. I like that they are a small business, it is only the owner who works there. I like their prices compared to other similar places. I cannot say that he is very fast but he tells you right away that this is going to take a month or something but I am willing to wait for how long it takes him to finish. He does a good job.

Good experience from start to finish. I would use again.

the owner was professional and cared a great deal that the customer was satisfied. we had two pair of shoes/boots heeled and he did an excellent job.

I simply called this shop for an estimate and had a horrible experience with that. I was told it would take over a month to get my job done and that if I were going to one of this shop's competitors, I'd better beware of the lesser quality work. I found Gene to be very unprofessional by telling me, someone he didn't know, that sort of information. I'm glad I didn't work with Gene for this service.

Their service was very good. I liked how they pretty much did a costume job for me, the work was very original. The quality of work was fine and they were very professional.

The quality was great and everything went well. He was sick at that time and not always available. It was a very good experience.
