Hamline Garage Door

Look no further. This was my second time hiring Mr. Jacobsen (first was a spring replacement) and the experience was every bit as great as the first. This gentleman has vast, encyclopedic knowledge of all things garage door, believe me, and he takes obvious pride and pleasure in his work. I thought about doing this as a DIY but upon viewing the meticulousness of the installation I'm quite certain I could have spent hours on it and never have approached the same quality. Plus, I would have had to figure out how to get rid of the old opener. Plus, it's really cold out there. Efficient, organized, precisely on time, all features and functions explained in as much detail as I wanted. Fairly and reasonably priced, and a friendly, personable, straight-up guy. Couldn't be easier. A+. Easy recommendation.

AMAZING!!! My trust/confidence in the service provider industry (well at least garage door service industry) has been restored!!! Mark (Jake) Jacobsen with Hamline Garage Door is SO AWESOME!!! I have had so many bad experiences with service providers. Mark changed that. I called 5 garage door companies and Mark was the only one who called me back and he called me back within 30 minutes from when I left my message. He came, looked at the problem, knew right away what to do, and fixed it in 10 minutes. AND he charged me for only the work done and not for driving out here and a minimum "service fee" and all that. THANK YOU MARK!!! Please everyone call him and no one else. Seriously, you will be so pleased.

Everything is working perfectly now! The two braces on the garage door fixed the dent so the door shuts properly, and the new gear in the opener means that the chain is working fine.

Repair man showed up on time on a 5 below zero morning . Provided estimate for all work and came in close even though there were some extra adjustments he found that needed to be done. Polite , did work as promised and all within an hour and a half. The company does not take credit cards , cash or check only.

Doors operate much quieter and efficiently and keep cold and water out better. Said initially couldn't come out until day after we called but stopped by the afternoon of the day we had called. When came, evaluated and needed to get parts he didn't have. Came out the next morning and repaired all of the above, quickly and efficiently. Excellent work.

Mark was very professional on the phone. He ended up doing more work than originally planned, but his final bill was $100 less than the first quote we got, and that didn't even include the new opener! We are very pleased with the work he did and quality of the newly installed equipment.

We called Mark to request an estimate for a replacement of our garage door and opener. Mark was able to come out the following day, and arrived right on time. Mark was extremely professional and friendly. Unfortunately, the manufacturer he works with does not carry the size of door that we need (we have a low header on our garage). Mark provided referrals to larger competitors that can assist with our need. I was disappointed that we couldn't work with Mark, as I felt that he was trustworthy and thorough.

I called Mark at Hamline Garage on a Saturday morning around 9:30am. Since it was a weekend, I left a message hoping he could call me back sometime early Monday morning to schedule an estimate. But instead, he called back within just 20 minutes, came by the house at 11:30am, and my garage door was repaired by around noon the same day. The service was fast, professional, and reasonably priced. Mark also took the time to advise us on the remaining life expectancy of both our doors and door openers (both of which date back to the construction of the house in 1987). There are clear signs that both doors and openers will likely need to be replaced in the next few years. When that time comes, I will be sure to give Mark another call.

He did a great job! My garage door opener quit working and I didn't know if it could be fixed or if I needed a new one. He told me I didn't need a new one and fixed the old one. I've used him in the past for a broken garage door and would use him again.

Completed job a day earlier than originally scheduled, and work was professionally completed, including a concise, clear explanation of how the new door operated (the old opener was almost twenty years old, so I needed the explanation).

This is a small family business with great reviews. I called explained what I needed and he recommended a model that was better than the other one suggested by another company for less money. Mark scheduled and installed it within a few days. Everything was installed and the old unit was removed and taken away. Mark was very professional, knowledgable and thorough. I highly recommend this company.

Fixed garage door opener. Had the parts with him and did it right away. Was able to come a day earlier then he originally thought he could. No charge to diagnose the problem, unlike Sears who said they would charge $85 just to come to the house.

It went very well. It was a cold day. The owner is very friendly and made suggestions on how to lubricate the springs. He worked very fast.

Our garage door would only open about 6 inches and then stop. We called Hamline Garage Door. Mark came out later that morning and knew exactly what was wrong. He fixed the problem and also replaced a couple of rollers that were worn. We also had him replace the springs which were getting quite old. Mark really knows his work, worked in very cold conditions (his bare fingers on cold metal parts), and charged a really fair price. We are so glad we called him. He did his work with a smile even though it was snowing, cold, and he was very busy. There should be more like him. We highly recommend Hamline Garage Door.

This was one of my best experiences in hiring a contractor. My garage door stopped opening in the evening - one of the two springs broke. I called Hamline Garage Door in the morning, he was here within 10 minutes (this was mostly lucky timing), and my garage was operational 30 minutes later. A bonus - he fixed a few missing bolts on the door, that I did not ask for - for free. Everything went just right.

He was very thorough in explaining my options for repair versus new and the related costs. He did the work the next day and my door works like a charm. I would definitely recommend this company!
