Grout Doctor-St Paul

Fine. Basically came out to tell me they did not do my type of work.

Allen was very knowledgeable and told us that just a good cleaning was all that our grout needed. He actually cleaned a small area for us and suggested some products that we could use to do it ourselves. He also gave us several contacts for tile and marble for future reference. He was honest in telling us that our grout didn't need to be replaced and that our shower was in great condition and just needed a good cleaning.

Joe did a great job in a very short time. We couldn't be happier with the results. We will definitely call Joe if we have a need for his service.

On May 29th I had finished all the cleaning of the tiles (done over several nights) and got up early, showered, emptied the bathroom and marked everything. And then no one showed up. To make matters worse, I left 3 messages for Dick and had no response. These messages were left from about 11:15 to the end of the work day. I was really frustrated. All of that work for nothing. Finally at about 9pm, my phone rang and he called to say he had lost my paperwork and that it was not the fault of the new person (whoever that is). So then I asked why it took so long to call me back and he said because they answering service had not given him any of my messages. At this point I felt that I was dealing with a service provider problem.

I contacted Dick Seppala at the St Paul Grout Doctor for an estimate. He came out as scheduled and gave us the estimate along with his recommendation. We scheduled the work with Dick and Joe Wieremann came out and completed the project. Both Dick and Joe were very professional and great to work with - I'm very pleased with the quality of their work. I will call them for any grout work in the future.

I was happy with their work, but I couldn't remember any of the specifics at all. They were very responsive and timely, as far as my memory goes. They did the job. The price was probably reasonable.

Joe from Grout Doctor jumped into the middle of a grout-grinding project my husband started. The old grout in the shower tile had to be removed and new grout installed. The grinding process was messy and tedious, and not something that normal regrout professionals would likely do. Joe from Grout Doctor did the job to perfection! Remaining grout was removed with a grinder and new grout was installed. Project price included professional grade grout, labor and taxes. I paid exactly what I was quoted. Excellent job done, Grout Doctor!

Routine job. Completed as bid. No problems.

Dick responded very quickly to my call for an estimate and explained what would be done and what I could expect. Joe did the work and although the grout isn't back to it's original color, the color now is very even and MUCH better and cleaner looking than it was before he did the work. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work that was done.

Dick promptly returned my call and came to my condo to give me a bid a few days later. They were able to re-grout my bathtub approximately 10 days later. I'm so pleased with how it looks now - it looks like a whole new tub/shower! I was not home while they were working, but they definitely did not leave a mess when they were done. I will definitely be calling them again if I need any grout work done.

Dick came to give me an estimate more than a year ago. We were finally to the point where we wanted it done. We called, set up a time on fairly short notice, and Dick showed up with Joe, who did the work. So far it looks great (still need to give it one more day before it can be used). My only concern was that Dick left Joe, who I'd never met before, and I had to leave the house on last minute business about an hour into the job. I felt a little anxious about leaving a complete stranger in my house alone, especially since I expected Dick to do the work. But, everything was fine, no valuables missing, he cleaned up and did a great job. Phew!

Everything turned out well. I really appreciated Dick Seppala, the gentleman that did the work. He was easy to work with. I thought the pricing was very reasonable compared to other estimates.

They were timely, professional and did a good job. Recently we noticed that some of the mold was coming through the grout. I called Dick and he came over and took a look. They generally give a 6 month guarantee, not 1 year (it had been over a year by this time). But he said he'd come back and do a touch up. They came today (11/25/09) and were in and out in less than 20 minutes. He said the reason that mold returns is because we haven't been towel drying hte shower each time we use it. If we do that, it should last much longer. He did not charge us anything for the touch up.

Dick was extremely helpful in planning our bathroom refurbishment. He went out of his way to help us find grout and caulk that would match what we had. He drove to the other side of town to get matching replacement tiles for us.

Dick's bid was competitive, but I ultimately chose another vendor based on more comprehensive work offered.

Joe did the work for us and he was quite pleasant and informative. He arrived a few minutes early and got to work quickly. He removed the old caulking around the tub, tub fixtures and sink, ground out the old grout and replaced it with new grout. He let the grout set up over his (brief) lunch break and then re-caulked and cleaned up. We were quite impressed with his work as a whole. There were a couple of areas where extra grout was left behind, like between the corner of the wall and the door frame (a space of about a quarter to a half inch) and around a light switch plate. We have small kids and the 2 or 3 times he crossed paths with them during the day he was very kind and patient. He brought us in to the bathroom to see the finished job and explained how to clean and care for the tile/grout and what to watch for as the grout cured. We could not use the shower for 72 hours so the grout could set up. The one suggestion I would give people is to remove light switch plate and/or heat vent covers if they are on the tile.

Very well, quote was for each repair and by the hour. Was told that he would use the lower cost to me. He and his partner worked very quickly and completed the work in less time than estimated.

Very smooth! Replaced a small area of water-damaged drywall adjacent to the walk-in shower, excellent finish.

Couldn't ask for a better results. I'd provide before and after pictures, except I forgot the "before." But the results are so good, you might suspect I'd retouched them! The shower looks better than new.

He wrote an estimate that seems very comprehensive and reasonable, and I will definitely contact him when I am ready to make his recommended changes, which will precede his work.

Our shower looked terrible and we had considered replacing the old tile with an acrylic shower surround. However, the estimates we got for this work were at least $1,500, plus another $500 for the shower surround and new pan. After giving me some good-natured ribbing about my having repaired missing grout with silicone caulk several years ago, the Grout Doctor gave us a very reasonable price for the job. We had to wait several weeks, but it was worth the wait. The work was done in one morning, and our shower looks like as though it has been newly re-tiled. It looks great. I will hire the Grout Doctor next time I need any tile work done (and I will not use caulk instead of grout for small repairs).

After having the Grout Doctor remove and replace all the grout in our Master Shower, we had him look at the grout in our bathtub where we having some small leaks. Having him replace the grout near the tub made it look great and stopped the leaks. Again, they were on time, performed efficiently and cleaned up well after the job was complete.

Excellent work. They arrived on time, even after calling because they thought they would be late. I work from home, and from all of the noise I was sure there would be a huge white film of dust left in the bathroom. Not So! They left the work in perfect condition, with no dust, and showed true craftsmanship. The Grout Doctor is a franchise, so don't presume that any Grout Doctor will provide the same level of service and quality. But Dick Seppala WILL!

This is the second time I have used the Grout Doctor. Dick is very nice. He comes on time, and the estimates are accurate. I've also had him repair grout that is missing or cracked in floors and bathroom tile.
