Mike wasn't able to answer the phone when I first called, but called me back and was able to come by about 30 minutes later. He was very professional and knew what the problem was right away. Based on the noise he suggested that the part was more of an annoyance at this point and we didn't have to swap it out for the time being, which would have been about $400. He even cleaned out a trap and showed me how to do it in the future. Overall I was extremely pleased and would recommend him to others in the future.

We decided it was time to replace our 29 year-old furnace and AC. We called G&H and two other contractors to get bids, and Mike at G&H was by far the most reasonable, he even threw in a new wireless thermostat. He did an outstanding job on the installation, and is very easy to work with. He understands what it means to build relationships with customers. Takes the time to explain everything in as much detail as you want. He even called customer service of the thermostat manufacturer when we had a little difficulty getting the mobile app to work with the stat and made sure we got it up and running. Highly recommend.

Mike was very quick to respond to my phone call and was available to come out the next day to assess my air conditioner. He arrived around the time he promised and was very quick to find the problem. He fixed it on the spot and gave me advice on how to keep things in great shape. Everything was back and running within the hour. I was very impressed by his skills and professionalism. I will definitely use Mike and his company again in the future.

Nothing to complain about. Mike is a good guy and a straight-talker who cares about his work. No hard sell or unnecessary work performed and he charges reasonable fees. I still feel bad about accidentally spraying him with cold water when I turned it on so that he could clean the outdoor AC compressor unit.

Mike was amazing! He came within 30 minutes of my calling at 8pm on a weeknight. He kindly gave us some tips on preventing such occurances again and was very professional. Would definitely hire Mike again for routine maintenance!

Mike found the amp was blown out and replaced with the new one. He also fixed the broken fly wheel and cleaned out the thick dust on it and replaced it.

Michael, the owner of G & H Heating & Air Conditioning, was scheduled to arrive at my house by 9:00AM on 3/12/2015 to troubleshoot an issue with my heating system. However, he never arrived for the appointment, which was scheduled a week in advance. I then called him once and did not receive an answer, but I was able to reach him when I called a second time. He stated that he had an emergency that prevented him from keeping the appointment that he had with me, but he made ZERO effort to notify me of this and it wasn't until I made an effort to contact him (multiple times) that he made me aware of this. I think other Angie's List members should know that I have used the services of G & H Heating & Air Conditioning on two other occasions and therefore it's extremely troubling to see that G & H Heating & Air Conditioning is more than willing to blatantly disregard the needs of a repeat customer and isn't even willing to take it upon themselves to afford their customers the courtesy of a phone call when they are unable to keep a previously scheduled appointment. I can completely understand that emergencies do happen and I would have been more than understanding had I been contacted directly about the situation instead of having to contact them myself. There's simply no excuse for any legitimate business to skip an appointment without notifying the customer beforehand. It takes no more than a minute or two to make a phone call and I am extremely disappointed seeing as I cleared my own schedule to accommodate the appointment. In addition to the time that I have already lost as a result of the poor business practices of G & H Heating & Air Conditioning, I will now have to spend more time researching service providers as well as scheduling and attending another appointment for the issue that should have been addressed today by G & H Heating & Air Conditioning. I'm hopeful that sharing my experience with the Angie's List community will help others avoid using the services of companies like G & H Heating & Air Conditioning given their extreme lack of professionalism in this regard.

In researching new furnaces, what came up over and over is that most brands are about the same. What matters is the installer and their skill. 3 out of 4 companies sent salesman. The exception was G&H. Rather than a salesman, Michael, the owner and installer came out. Real personable guy, easy to work with, was experienced and knowledgeable. Rather than just use the size of the furnace already in the house, he recommended a smaller furnace as the old furnace was an 80% AFUE and the new one is 97% AFUE (which saved me money). In order to make sure, he ran a manual-J test, with the help of a friend Ken, which took an hour and required some effort. I really appreciated that. We chose him as a result of this as we felt that he would do a nice job, and we were not disappointed. We had them install a new furnace and new A/C unit. Michael and Ken did a real nice professional job on the install. The furnace looks nice and runs nice. They were professional and courteous, and did everything I asked. They were great and I would use them again, as well as use them for service. So far so good, I will update the review if anything changes. A+++

Michael responded really quickly to my query, gave an estimate within a couple of days and was really flexible in fitting us in quickly and working around other contractors who were on site at the time. Very pleased with the work that was done and just waiting to arrange a date for him to come back and install a new water heater. No hesitation in recommending, professional and pleasant service.

We choose G & H Heating & Air Conditioning as our service provider based on their reviews and we'll definitely be using them again for all of our future heating and cooling needs. Michael, the owner of G & H Heating & Air Conditioning, was affordable, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable.

All correspondence by email as we are living outside of the US. Furnace was red-tagged when inspected due to a cracked heat exchanger of a property that was for sale. Michael promptly went to the property and send a quote to us. Signed and returned request for service and installed next day. Helped with contact info for inspection. Pulled all required permits and provided scans. Best price for 80% eff furnace of 4 companies contacted for service. Some confusion when considered higher eff furnace and if a rebate was available.

We have used his service before, and have always been satisfied. He has serviced our heating unit also. We have used his service for over 3 years. We feel he is very fair and trustworthy.

Our AC stopped working over the weekend. I called many big companies and none of them could come right away - the earliest would be 2-3 days later. I called G&H and Mike said he could come late in the evening and he did. He was professional and fixed the problem right away. Would definitely call him again if I have problems in ACs in the future.

I do not recall what it cost, but I do remember feeling it was an inexpensive service.

My furnace wasn't working properly and I had no heat on probably the first of 3 record cold days and it was Sunday night. Michael came out within a half hour of my call. I was up and running with heat within a 1/2 hour of his arrival. I would/will definitely call Michael when I need to replace my furnace or other appliances.

Came promptly. Found the problem, a malfunctioning thermostat, immediately. Michael G asked questions and provided very useful information He stocks his truck to enable repair of most furnace problems.

furnace check. Didn't connect on phone call right away. but after that communication was good. Right on time for service, very professional and polite.

We really appreciated the approach that Michael took to diagnose a problem with the wiring to the furnace. We bought this house a month ago as a project, and are still learning the many quirks and problems with this house. The wiring is substandard to say the least, and it appears the prior owner did many "creative' wiring projects. We are re-wiring the entire house (my husband is a master electrician), but hadn't made it to the basement yet. The prior owner had tied the wiring to the furnace and a fan in the living room gas fireplace to a switch on a wall on the opposite side of the basement. For some reason, the switch had been turned off. Michael found the problem and until we can disable the switch, it is now taped in the 'on' position.

On Friday night, I discovered my A/C stopped working and I was having a bunch of friends over Saturday night and it was going to be around 90 degrees. I called Michael on Saturday morning and he came out within 30 minutes, diagnosed the problem and replaced the blower motor. He had parts on hand to make the repair. He was there for about 90 minutes. I appreciate that I was not overcharged for the parts as well as the prompt service on short notice on a weekend.
