It's a trim. It's a portion of the hose. I had fiber glass there before that was getting shabby. I wanted it to look nicer. I had them put up some of the manufactured stones. The work went very well for me. I had them come out and do waterproofing on my foundation every year. They have done my chimneys, which was awesome. They matched bricks but that was a while ago. When I have some of that work, I always get them. I've had them for years. They're my trusted go-to people. They do a good work. I trust them and they're nice people. If they say they're going to do something, they're going to do it. When our chimney needs to be redone, it was crumbing. One person came out and put stucco and stucco doesn't last on the chimney. He just left it the way it was and just plastered it. He gave us some references to look at, so we looked at them. We had them come out and talked to them about it. We made sure they could replace the bad bricks with ones that match our existing chimney bricks and they did. They searched until they found the right colors. My house is from 1945. It still looks like it's brand new even if it's been at least 15 or 20 years ago. They did such a good job that's why I kept calling them out. I would definitely use them again.

The whole experience with them was great! I called Figg Masonry late in the afternoon on a Friday to inquire about having some concrete pouring work (roughly a 17' x 2' patch that I'd torn apart for some drain work beneath the slab) in my basement. They called back later that day and we were able to find time the next day to schedule an estimate. Chuck Figg showed up as scheduled that day and gave me the best quote I'd received, so we decided to work with him. We scheduled the actual service for a few days later. They were able to pour the concrete in the scheduled time and took care to make sure that the area was blocked off from anyone accidentally walking over the area (the area being filled was in the main walking path from our garage to our upstairs living area.) The concrete is perfectly level with the rest of the basement floor. They cleaned up the work area very well and were great to work with throughout. Thanks!
Description of Work: Figg Masonry filled/poured in a roughly 17' x 2' open section in my basement slab with concrete. I had torn out the section to access and repair a drain line beneath it.

I hired somebody else to do the work.
Description of Work: Based on the high Angie's List rating, I called Chuck Figg to come out and give me an estimate for some masonry repair at my home, including brick and mortar repairs to the front of my house and to a brick fireplace. This was a pretty small job. I never heard back from him, despite two messages left for him asking for an estimate of cost to do the work. Based on his rather aloof attitude at my home and his failure to return calls, I wouldn't recommend him. Even if the job was too small for him to take on, the courteous and professional thing to do would have been to at least return my calls and let me know.

They did an excellent job. Since the crumbling arch was a safety hazard, they came and braced up the overhang almost immediately. They came back later to replace the column and patch the place where the arch connected with the house. They did a great job! You can't tell that we had a repair done and the arch looks 100% better than the original one. They even had to jack up part of the overhang to make sure everything was straight. It looks great.
Description of Work: Figg Masonry took down a brick arch and column near our front door and replaced the column.

We were out of town for the entire project. They came within a few days of when they said they would and completed the work within the timeframe they had established. When we arrived home and the work was completed we were delighted with the results. The brick work on our house looks like new. They were even able to replace old bricks with new even though our brick type is out of production. Not sure where they found them! We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work as well as the price. We receieved 2 other estimates a year earlier and were not happy with either one. We felt Chuck's estimate was very reasonalbe considering the amount of work he included. He was very professional and knew his stuff. Going with Figg Masonry for this work was an easy decision.
Description of Work: The brick work on the front of our house especially around a chimney we had in front needed repair. The chimney was leaking and many bricks needed to be replaced. There was also significant tuckpointing work needed around many parts of the front of the house including a crack over the garage. They also replaced the flashind around both our chimneys with nice looking copper flashing -- Chuck's suggestion.

Punctual for initial appointment and performed work when stated (work was done when it was best for me). Cleaned up well. Attentive to details. Good suggestions to improve both the job function and appearance. Excellent workmanship. They even maintained a positive work environment for others (no loud music or profanity). This is a small family owned and run business. I received five bids for this job. Figg was significantly more than the lowest bid (You will be able to find a lower price. If price is the only thing that you're interested in, hire someone else). Yet, if want a high quality job, consider them. Note: The Better Business Bureau link for Figg Construction states that this company does not exist. This company, to my understanding, has been in business for at least 30 years. The Better Business Bureau is incorrect. I am not implying perfection by Figg (no company, including Figg, is). I just like the idea of a good company continuing to succeed.
Description of Work: Entire chimney and clay liner were replaced from approximately one foot below the roof line on up. New brick and stone (two courses) chimney including integrated decorative brickwork. Extra tall 5 1/2 foot structure (standard is 3 feet). Old chimney was demolished; brick and other debris were disposed of.
