FANTASTIC FLOORS & INTERIORS INC

In December 2009, we purchased laminate flooring from Fantastic Floors. We were told that the Mannington flooring we were to purchase was good quality and would not chip like cheaper flooring. In February 2010, we contacted Fantastic Floors and requested installation. In March 2010, the installer from Fantastic Floors installed the flooring and we noted chips on day one. We contacted Fantastic Floors regarding the chips. They sent out the installer to make repairs but the floor continues to chip and Fantastic Floors? customer service person says it is our fault. The installer stated that the flooring of the type and quality we purchased (Mannington) will chip. He also said that if we wanted laminate flooring that would not chip, we should have paid twice as much. When I asked him why the sales people did not inform us of that, he said that they could have lost the sale. According to Fantastic Floors and the installer it is our fault because we bought the Mannington flooring and we should accept the fact that it will continue to chip.

They installed lower level carpeting and pad for my hall. It was adequate. The consultation of the product was fine and was as expected. I could talk to the sales person at the store and I got the information I needed. They also answered all my questions. The product itself is as expected and I did not have any disappointments. There was a little gap of communication between the store and the installer. We were flexible enough to make it to work. When they came in to do the work, the procedure was a little different from what we were told. However, we were able to coordinate with them as there was not a major disruption.

I like that they were really patient about finding the right color. They ordered samples for me to take home and test for the right color. I thought I wanted one type of carpeting, but they showed me some different types, and I was very happy with one of those types. They were great consultants. They used their vendor to lay the floor and he was excellent as well. The carpet is just perfect. Their prices were also very good.

While we love the new carpeting, we are extremely disappointed with the behavior of Fantastic Floors' personnel. They engaged in misleading, unprofessional and downright rude behavior. I do not ever want them back in our home and would discourage others from using them. First, we ordered the carpet, and Fantastic Floors failed to follow up to let us know that the carpet was on back order. Second, their staff measured our rooms and provided a comprehensive written quote. One room contained a lightweight couch and chair and small TV and TV stand. The quote did not suggest a fee to move the furniture, and Fantastic Floors demanded $75 to move the furniture several days before installation, but backed off when I reminded them that they neglected to include this fee in their quote. The quote said that they would replace tack boards (which had water damage) as needed, but the installers were quite nasty and said that they were uninterested in replacing any tack boards. They ultimately replaced a few tack boards, but only begrudgingly. I'm surprised that our sales person lacked the courtesy to follow up. We will undoubtedly replace additional flooring in our house, and will definitely not use Fantastic Floors again.
