Provided the best quote by phone after I described the job (hint: know the details, especially in regard to stairs, paths from locations to driveways, size of piano, etc., before you call). After the move, he actually asked less than his phone quote, but I honored his phone quote. Tom and another guy arrived on time and were friendly and careful. They've been doing this for years and know what they're doing.

I was very pleased with Tom and Express Piano. They were the cheapest piano mover that I interviewed but that did not translate to poorer service. They arrived on time, they laid down protectors for the carpet, loaded the piano up and then drove it to our storage unit. They helped me move a couple items out of the way to make room for the piano and the entire move was done quickly, efficiently and safely. I will plan to use them again in the future when I need the piano moved out of storage.
Description of Work: Moved a large upright piano from our home to a storage unit.

I called Tom at Express Piano to get an estimate for the move of the piano. It seemed reasonable compared to other piano moves I had checked on Angies List. We agreed on a date for the move and Tom called day before to confirm appointment. He and another man showed up on time and efficiently moved the piano out to the truck. They had to move the piano to the second floor in a school and an elevator was not available. I understand it was about 15 steps. The school staff called me to say to the piano got to the destination in good shape.

They arrived on time, got the piano loaded quickly and efficiently (although it hurt my back just watching) and safely moved it out of the house and into the truck. It was then moved to the new house, unloaded, and put into its final position without any damage to the piano or either property.
Description of Work: Express Piano moved our upright grand through the house, out the back patio door, down the stairs, over the sump pump and gutter drains, around the garage and into their truck. Once loaded they drove it to our new house. Unloading the piano consisted of going up a couple stairs into the house then down into a sunken living room and to a room at the back of the house.

Although it took much longer than planned, it was because of the size and weight of the piano. There was never any attempt to raise the quoted price. They seemed very familiar with piano construction and various cosmetic issues.
Description of Work: Called 2 days in advance and got a firm commitment to move a 750 lb Stark Console upright locally between two houses. Accidently damaged the stairwell of the first home and immediately agreed to pay to repair. Job took 3 hours and was much harder than planned but they agreed on the original quote. They were very friendly and did a very good job of protecting the floors. Location was in the basement of the first house requiring taking it up the stairs after deciding it would not make it out the walk-out door. Destination was on the entry level.
