Environmental Pest Management Systems -Bug Busters

Several years ago we had a major carpenter ant infestation, which we had to have some home reconstruction to correct. We also added Bug Busters for the ants as they were the only ones who use natural ingredients as a pest control. They always call before they come to let you know they will be out to the house.

The tech was very nice and agreed that where I had assumed they were nesting was in fact where they were. He felt it might be better to wait until he had some more equipment to spray the nest with. Since he was already there he decided to spray the nest and see if that would take care of the problem and then guaranteed the extermination of the nest for the rest of the season. (although it was late Sept., cold temps will also kill them) Since there had been a few hundred wasps around the outside upper level of my house I was very glad that he took care of them immediately. It appears to have killed all the wasps and I have seen none since, although the weather turned cooler.

She is receptive and responsive and comes out for me when I call her on an emergency. She comes once a month but if I need her to come out before she does her best to be out here as soon as possible.

I have to stress that I am NOT someone who would ever call a pest company for Asian lady beetles or box elder bugs or centipedes. They're harmless. But yellow jackets are a big deal. I was pleased with the service. My experience with this company was great. Mark was persistent in dealing with my yellow-jacket problem. He came out a total of four times, treating what we both thought was the entry point for the yellow jackets. But the bugs came back, and every time, Mark came back too. The nest was actually in the chimney, not in the eaves, as we had initially suspected. There is no way I could have treated the nest myself. I would stress that anyone dealing with pests insist on a company with a written guarantee. This was well worth the money. And with any luck, I won't be killing dozens of yellow jackets in my house every day. And if I do, I've been assured that I can call back and the nest will be treated again.

Initially I didn't realize the guy failed to even look in our attic for mice or signs of them. Several months later when we were still having problems with mice, a different exterminator from this company came and looked around again; he said they"dropped the ball" by not even checking the attic in the beginning, so he put poison in the attic (where he did end up finding tunnels from mice). I called the manager, Ted I believe was his name, notified him of the problem, he said he'd call me "tomorrow" and come out himself as he considered himself one of the more expert mouse guys. Well, I'm still waiting for him to come 2 months later, he never called me again or showed up. They still billed me for the return visit however; 75$ for a 5 minute visit to refill poison was a little much also. Would not recommend them for mouse problems anyway.

We've been happy with the service. The people are really nice. I think they are a little expensive but I don't have anything to compare it with. They keep us informed on what we need. It seems to be working.

They did a good job the first time through but they were hesitant to provide a follow service such at a short time later. They were suppose to guarantee the work for sixty days. It seemed like they did not have time for me. They did it but I was not satisfied with their customer service. I had to fight with them a bit to get the follow up service.

I called Friday afternoon; he came out Saturday morning to do the work. He was a little late, but he called to let me know. He did the work quickly and effectively.

I called them at 12:30 in the afternoon and John was at my house by 2pm the same day. He was prompt, courteous, and full of useful information. It's been weeks now and the bugs are nowhere to be seen. Yay! At the end of summer/beginning of fall, I will definitely call them again. I think their price was great and I feel like John knows his job really well and seemed to care about keeping my sanity and getting rid of those nasty bugs. Thank you, John and death to bugs!

Jon Klein came out and took care of the problem - he was fabulous! I found him very professional, did not overcharge or oversell. I would use them again in a heartbeat and I will continue using him to make sure we are mouse free.

Environmental Pest Management did a good job for us this fall in exterminating an unusually high number of boxelder bugs from our property surrounding our home. A couple weeks after an initial application, the bugs began to reappear and Environmental Pest Management returned for a reapplication at no charge. The staff and crew are friendly and knowledgeable.

The technicians are quite knowledgable. The initial technician was confident and reassuring that carpenter ants could be controlled. We needed that. When we had the roof torn off in the fall, they came out again to make sure that there weren't any other small nests relocating. It was good of them to think of that. The price seems a little on the high side, but we weren't quibbling when we needed help. My wife interviewed one other firm, and this was our choice. The initial visits were prompt. They seem to be a little loose on the quarterly visits. It would be nice to have more warning than a call (or message) the night before. Price is now $109 per quarterly visit. I forget what the first visit was.

It was a very positive experience. Their representative spent nearly an hour with my husband and explained the source of the problem, estimated how much of a problem it truly was, and then provided an estimate that seemed very reasonable. The rep didn't seem to think we truly had an ant problem but he described what a true problem would look like and how we would know we really had a problem. Essentially, we received an hour of free advice and some much needed assurance that the ants weren't in the process of tearing down our home! Both were much appreciated. If we have a problem in the future with the carpenter ants or any other pest, I will definitely call Bug Busters first.

Jon Klein was very informative and personable. He offered a senior discount without my asking. This was the only exterminator who offered a lifetime guarantee for the life of the home. I signed a contract for 6 visits during a one year time frame, at $90.00 each. He just did the 1st today, so I do not know results, but he stressed to call him for a free spraying if I still see ants in 2 weeks.

They were very professional, prompt, and did an honest assessment of the treatment outcome.

TO BEGIN, THE WOMAN WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH AL WHEN I MENTIONED IT DURING INITIAL CALL. THE FIRST APPLICATION WAS FINE (ANT NEST GONE) AND THE TECH WAS UP FRONT WITH THE FACT IT IS CHALLENGING TO GET RID OF SPIDERS - IT TAKES SEVERAL APPLICATIONS. HOWEVER, ON SUBSEQUENT APPLICATIONS, I FEEL THAT THEIR METHOD OF STOPPING PESTS FROM ENTERING THE HOUSE IS FINE BUT IT IS NOT TAKING CARE OF THE EXISTING PESTS. I CONTINUE TO HAVE MORE THAN A NORMAL AMOUNT OF SPIDERS AND WEBS ON ALL THREE LEVELS OF LIVING AREA. THE FIRST MONTH OF MONTHLY APPLICATIONS, THE TECH CALLED THE NIGHT BEFORE AND ARRIVED ON DAY AS PROMISED THE PRIOR MONTH. THE NEXT MONTH I HAD TO CONTACT THE COMPANY A WEEK AFTER OUR APPLICATION SHOULD HAVE OCCURRED. IT IS NOW ALMOST THREE WEEKS AFTER LAST MONTH'S APPLICATION PROPOSED DATE AND I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM. I CHOSE THIS COMPANY BASED ON AL REPORTS COMBINED WITH THEIR ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PEST CONTROL, BUT I'M DISAPPOINTED.

THEY WERE ON TIME, ASKED RIGHT QUESTIONS, PERFORMED THE WORK. ANTS ARE GONE FOR NOW. LEFT ME INFO AS TO PRODUCT USED AND TIME LINE TO CHECK IF ANTS WERE RETURNING. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

COMPANY RESPONDED QUICKLY. RETURNED PHONE CALL OF INQUIRY PROMPTLY. MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR INSPECTION AND BID AND THEY WERE ON TIME AND INFORMATIVE. MADE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO DO THE WORK AND WERE AGAIN ON TIME, VERY EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL. GUARANTEED WORK. WOULD RECOMMEND.

SUPER COMPANY. THEY ANSWERED A CALL LATE ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON, AND HAD SOMEONE OUT IN A FEW HOURS TO DEAL WITH THE YELLOW JACKET PROBLEM. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ALSO CHECKED FOR ROACHES, AT MY REQUEST. HE DIDN'T TRY TO SELL THE SERVICE, SAYING WE SHOULD WAIT AND SEE IF WE SAW MORE BUGS. A WEEK LATER, AFTER WE SAW A COUPLE MORE BUGS, HE CAME BACK AND TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM. I PARTICULARLY LIKE THAT THEY DON'T SPRAY INSIDE, BUT USE A BAIT THAT IS SAFE FOR PEOPLE AND PETS. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN (BUT I SURE HOPE I DON'T HAVE TO).

I CALLED TO ARRANGE AN ESTIMATE. BILL STOPPED BY, ON HIS WAY HOME FROM WORK, THAT SAME EVENING. HE WAS GREAT. HE LOOKED OVER WHAT WE HAD AND EXPLAINED WHAT HE WOULD RECOMMEND DOING AND WHAT THE PRICING WOULD BE. HE ALSO GAVE ME SOME IDEAS FOR THINGS I COULD DO ON MY OWN IN THE FUTURE. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. INITIAL TREATMENT IS $275 + TAX. THIS INCLUDED SPRAYING INSIDE AND OUT AS WELL AS SPRAYING TREES AROUND THE PROPERTY. THERE ARE ALSO 6 FOLLOW-UP TREATMENTS THROUGHOUT THE NEXT YEAR AT $65 + TAX. WE WILL PAY FOR EACH TREATMENT AS THEY OCCUR, SO THERE IS NO HUGE UP-FRONT COST. THIS IS CHEAPER THAN THE OTHER COMPANY I CALLED. THE INITIAL TREATMENT ONLY HAS TO BE DONE ONCE. EVEN IF WE SELL THE HOUSE, THE NEXT OWNERS WON'T EVER HAVE TO DO IT. ANY FUTURE PROBLEMS WILL JUST INVOLVE THE SMALLER TREATMENTS IF NEEDED. JOSE DID THE WORK ON SATURDAY. MY INITIAL CALL TO THEM WAS ON THURSDAY. VERY PROMPT. GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH.

KELLY IS OUR TECH AND HE IS WONDERFUL. WE PURCHASED THIS HOUSE AND THE PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD STARTED THE SERVICE. WE CONTINUED WITH BUG BUSTERS AS I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THEIR EXPLANATION OF SERVICE AND WITH KELLY SPECIFICALLY.

BILL DALIN WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL. HE WAS ON TIME AND RESPONDED QUICKLY TO PHONE CALLS. HE LISTENED TO THE PROBLEMS WE WERE HAVING AND WAS ATTENTIVE TO MY CONCERNS ABOUT SMALL CHILDREN AND PETS. HE SUGGESTED THAT WE START BY SPRAYING ONLY OUTSIDE. WHEN WE HAD SOME ANTS RETURN ABOUT A WEEK LATER, HE WAS AT OUR HOUSE WITHIN 2 HOURS, REPEATED SOME OF THE OUTSIDE SPRAYING AND TREATED THOROUGHLY INSIDE WITH NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES. I'LL DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.
