It went well. There was an issue with the backlight and the fan but Jeff promptly came out and repaired it. It now works great and looks great.
Description of Work: Came to the house and provided an accurate estimate. Then a technician returned a week later to install a gas fireplace insert.

We love it already and we've only had it for a few weeks. Dan also tore out an old gas burning stove and cleaned up at no extra cost.
Description of Work: I visited Jeff's store to get ideas/brochures and then he came out to look and gave us an estimate on a gas fireplace insert and gas line for grill. We decided on just the fireplace and scheduled a convenient day 3 weeks out. Dan came out and was worked most of a day with another guy and an electrician stopped out. He came back the next day to fix a leak before the inspector came by. Dan then explained how to use and maintain the fireplace.

Jeff cheerfully endured fall's damp windy weather to make sure I had regained confidence in safety of our BBQ, and Energy Savers. He took time to answer all my questions and address all my concerns. He was apologetic about the service techs diagnosis. He made sure the BBQ was operating properly overall, including the side, oven and rotisserie burners. He honored the manufacturer's warranty period and, upon properly identifying the problem, also refunded the $60 I initially paid for a hose. Every time we have done business with Energy Savers we have been delighted by their responsiveness. (The owner installed the unit four years ago and gave us the BBQ Bible Cookbook as a gift when one enamel panel came out of the box chipped.) Another employee named Laura was also very helpful and concerned about making the correct repairs. Jeff and Laura were instrumental in turning an incorrect diagnosis into a happy, safe ending and continuing Energy Saver's excellent track record.
Description of Work: Energy Savers replaced a faulty hose, valve and diode igniter in my Vermont Casting gas BBQ. The BBQ ignited under the burner valve panel when my husband turned it on to warm it up, melting hoses and the tank connector. When the service tech arrived, he guessed it hadn't been turned off properly after the last use, which was an inaccurate diagnosis. I escalated the problem to manager Jeff Bartlett. Jeff took ownership of the service call and made multiple visits to my house to perform service.

PROMPT ESTIMATE, GOOD SERVICE, AND WORK COMPLETED WITHOUT INTERRUPTION. THIS IS THE SECOND GAS INSERT ENERGY SAVERS HAS INSTALLED FOR US; A SIMILAR UNIT WAS INSTALLED IN OUR FORMER HOME RIGHT BEFORE WE RECENTLY SOLD IT AND MOVED INTO OUR NEWLY-PURCHASED HOME. BOTH UNITS HAVE WORKED WELL, AND THE COMPANY HAS COME OUT PROMPTLY TO MAKE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS.
Description of Work: INSTALLED GAS INSERT UNIT IN FIREPLACE AND REMOVED GAS LOG. WORK INCLUDED INSTALLING GAS LINE, GRILLS, PANELS, PIPING, AND AN ON/OFF REMOTE TO OPERATE UNIT.

THE SERVICEMAN DETERMINED THAT THE EXHAUST DUCT WAS PLUGGED, BUT AN INSTALLER WOULD NEED TO COMPLETE THE JOB BY REPLACING THE DUCTING, AND SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME TO SCHEDULE THE WORK. NOBODY EVER CALLED - IT TOOK REPEATED CALLS TO THE OFFICE TO SCHEDULE AN INSTALLER. THE MORNING HE WAS SCHEDULED TO DO THE WORK, HE CALLED TO RE-SCHEDULE. THE SECOND TIME HE CALLED TO SAY HE WOULD BE LATE. THE WORK FINALLY DID GET DONE, ALTHOUGH THE TRIM ON THE FRONT OF THE INSERT WASN'T REPLACED CORRECTLY.
Description of Work: GAS FIREPLACE INSERT (INSTALLED 7 YEARS AGO THROUGH MINNEGASCO) WOULDN'T STAY LIT - PROBABLY A DUCT PLUGGED BY BIRDS. ORIGINAL INSTALLER (RIVER CITY) WOULDN'T PROVIDE SERVICE.

WE SPENT SEVERAL HOURS AT THEIR SHOWROOM WITH A SALESMAN SELECTING WHICH UNITS WOULD BE BEST FOR OUR APPLICATION. ONCE THE QUOTE WAS DONE WE SHOWED THEM SOME OF THE COMMENTS FROM OTHER ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS AND ASKED FOR AN EXPLANATION ON THE NEGATIVE ONE TO ALLAY OUR CONCERNS. OUR SALESPERSON SHOWED THE REPORT TO AN OLDER GENTLEMAN WHO GLARED AT US, IGNORED OUR INQUIRY, AND WALKED AWAY. ALTHOUGH WE CLEARLY DON'T HAVE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF THE OTHER MEMBERS SITUATION, OR HAVE THE COMPANY'S SIDE OF THE STORY, WALKING AWAY WAS NOT THE RIGHT RESPONSE. WE DID THE SAME AND ARE LOOKING AT OTHER DEALERS FOR OUR FIREPLACE PROJECT.

THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND THE INSTALLER DIDNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT HE WAS DOING. IT WAS ONE ERROR AFTER ANOTHER. THEY CAME WITHIN ABOUT AN INCH OF A PLUMBING VENT IN THE ROOF, AND THE ROOFER NEEDED A SIX INCH CLEARANCE TO BE ABLE TO SEAL THE ROOF FROM LEAKING. HE ACTUALLY HAD TO BUILD AN EXTRA PLATFORM TO KEEP THE ROOF FROM LEAKING, WHICH COST US AN ADDITIONAL $500. THEY PUT THIS HIDEOUS CONTRAPTION ON THE ROOF WHICH RESEMBLED R2-D2, THEY PUT BRICK AROUND IT BECAUSE IT LOOKED SO AWFUL ON OUR HOME. THEY WERE NOT VERY ACCOMMODATING AND WERE NOT THE EASIEST TO WORK WITH. THEY ALSO FORGOT TO PUT THE BLOWER IN THE FIREPLACE WHICH WE HAD ORDERED AND PAID FOR..
