Jake was on time for giving us an estimate. I mentioned to him that his price was higher than our other bids and we would consider it against the other bids. Jake called us later that evening to tell us he could do the work for $400 less. We agreed on the price and set the start date for a Saturday. We call on a Friday to find out what time he would be here on Saturday and he said first thing Monday morning at 8am. Monday morning came with no Jake. Called at 10am with no answer, finally got a hold of him and said he was on the other line and would call back. Still waiting. We've since giving Jake ample time to get a hold of us. Unfortunately negotiation time has past and we have giving the contract to someone else.
Description of Work: We are in the process of remodeling a basement. Jake came and gave us a estimate for mudding and taping the ceiling.

I ORIGINALLY GAVE HIM A PRICE OF 1800.00 $ TO FINISH THE DRYWALL IN HIS BASEMENT. LATER ON HE INFORMED ME THAT THE PRICE WAS TOO HIGH. I AGREED TO GIVE HIM A SIGNIFICANT DISCOUNT AND DO THE WORK FOR ONLY 1200.00 $. LATER ON HE CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT HE ONLY WANTED ME TO FINISH THE CEILING AND THEN AT A LATER DATE TO FINISH THE WALLS SO I AGAIN LOWERED MY PRICE THIS TIME TO ONLY $400.00 TO TAPE AND TEXTURE THE CEILING THINKING I WOULD BE BACK TO FINISH THE WALLS AT ANOTHER TIME. THE WEEKEND BEFORE I WAS TO START THE PROJECT I FOUND OUT HE WAS USING SOMEONE ELSE TO FINISH THE WALLS AFTER I WOULD FINISH THE CEILING THEREBY USING THE SIGNIFICANT DISCOUNT I GAVE HIM TO HIS ADVANTAGE AND MY DISADVANTAGE. I THEREFORE LOST ANY INCENTIVE TO RETURN HIS PHONE CALLS OR ARRIVE AT HIS HOUSE ON MONDAY MORNING AS I TOLD HIM I WOULD. I SHOULD HAVE COMMUNICATED TO HIM MY REASON FOR NOT SHOWING UP BUT BY THIS TIME I HAD LOST ANY DESIRE TO WORK FOR HIM. I DIDN'T WANT A CONFRONTATION AND JUST WANTED TO LET THIS ONE GO.
