Drain Busters

Joe's brother, Bob, came on Friday at the time scheduled. He worked for over an hour, but unfortunately was not able to get the full sized cleaning tool through the system and had to use a smaller size instead. We've had some trouble in the past, and he finally recommended that we get someone with a camera to inspect the situation. Later that day, we had drainage problems again so I called Joe back directly on his cell phone. Both Joe and Bob arrived back at the house in about an hour, no questions asked. Bob worked again on the issue from a clean-out in the wall but was not able to make more progress. He was persistent however, and then located another clean-out in the floor of the basement that had been covered up by a re-modeler, carpet etc. Bob advised us on how to pull up the carpet which he helped with and just as he said, we found another clean-out. Joe and Bob worked another 2+ hours from this location and were finally able to get the entire pipe cleared to the street that was likely filled with years of tree roots. They never gave up, despite that it was 7:30 PM on a Friday night. They also cleaned up everything and were very friendly to work with. Knowing how long and hard they worked and how satisfied we were to not have to get a camera to diagnose the problem, I offered another $100+ due to my satisfaction. I will be calling Drain Busters every year from here on out. They do have a maintenance program with lower prices which should be well worth it.

Joe made an appointment for the next day and was right on time. I don't think the drain had ever been cleaned and took almost an hour. He stuck with the price quote he made on the phone, however, which was $70.

He had a good price and he did a good job. I would call them again if I had any drain problems. They were prompt about coming out and the work they did is working great. They guarantee their work and I got an Angie's List discount.

Owner said they were booked for next day, but if I could wait a day he would give me an additional discount. I ended up paying $55 for clearing the line from the basement drain to the main line in the house. The service guy was quick, friendly and helpful. I would certainly use them again and I thought the price was very reasonable.

It has gone very well. He is punctual and he is clean. He doesn't leave a mess and he is very affordable. He also has a 24 hour emergency service, so he is always available.

Excellent! Was not an emergency situation as we caught the plugged line early. Joe was out that afternoon at the appointed time. Unplugged the drain and talked about how to prevent it from happening again. Did an excellent job of cleaning up after he was done. Very Professional!!

I hesitate to write anything negative about Joe, because he was very professional and every aspect of his work seemed to be just fine. The only issue is that about a month after we had the shower drain cleared, it started having exactly the same problem. During his initial visit, he showed up on time, worked diligently, DIDN'T show me the drain contents (at my request!), and cleaned up afterwords. He said that he hadn't been able to get the drain cover off, so he couldn't really clear the drain, but that he'd been able to get about 2 ft. down the drain to remove a hair clog. I was skeptical that the problem would be solved since he wasn't able to remove the drain cover (the drain holes are less than 1/2" wide, so there's precious little clearance for tools), but when he demonstrated, the water flowed through just fine. Fast forward a month. Suddenly, showers involved standing in 1-2" of water again, which is just gross. I called him back without hesitation, since he's a good worker, and he has a 6-mo guarantee. He was very prompt in both returning my calls AND coming back to check the work. When he arrived, I was in taking a shower in another bathroom, so my husband handled the interaction. Joe was in and out in only a few minutes, and I didn't even know he'd been there. My husband said, "The drain guy came. He said he couldn't get the cover off, but he used a plunger and cleared the drain with that. He said we'd have to get a handyman out here to take the drain cover off so he can get in there better." He was in the house less than 5 minutes, and I get the impression he had made up his mind that he wouldn't be able to truly solve the problem before he even arrived. I totally understand that the drain cover needs to come off to get access. That's what I was thinking the first time around. But isn't that something a drain cleaning service should be prepared for? By the way, it's now a few months later and the drain has clogged again. Rather than call him back, I went to the store and bought a simple $3 plunger. It was not pleasant to plunge the drain during my shower, but it did seem to solve the problem for now. Perhaps you, too, will have good luck with a plunger. So if you know for a fact that your drain covers come off easily, hire Joe and you won't be disappointed.

The job went well. Joe was really friendly, and completed the job quickly. As he was getting ready to leave, he let us know that the work was guaranteed for 6 months. Even without this guarantee, we were happy with the service. The guarantee was a nice surprise. After just one job, we now consider Joe our "drain guy," and recommend him to our friends.

I came home one evening to find a rather sizable puddle of what appeared to be kitchen drain tailings on the floor of my basement. I had some issues with my floor drains in the past, but hadn't gotten around to calling someone to clean them out. Apparently this was my time. I researched on this site a bit and came up with Drain Busters as a company that had a stellar rating and wasn't far from my home. I left a message at the number listed and an hour or so later I got a callback. I talked with him briefly and told him that if I could still use the other bathroom in the house then I could wait till the following day to have him come out. If I couldn't wait I would call him back. The fee stated for after hours work was $150. I found that I could still use the other bathroom so we went with the original schedule for the following day. He was in and out in about half an hour. My wife was the one present when he did the work. She said he was very congenial and offered to clean up the mess left over, but since we had to mop the floor anyway we declined. All in all a good experience.

Excellent. After my own failed attempt to clean the line, I called Drain Busters at about 4:45 PM. Joe arrived on time at 6:00, got the job done quickly, and my wife was quite relieved.

This was the second time I have had Joe come out and clean out drains. Joe was very friendly and quick to schedule an appointment both times. He was very careful when bringing in his equipment to clean out the sewer drain to not track mud into the house. He worked quickly and cleaned up after himself. Since the bath tub drain was very easy he gave me a discount for that drain. I will continue to use Joe for any drain cleaning and would recommend him to my friends.

I was VERY happy with this service. The price was much less than any other plumber/drain cleaner I called. I will use this company again. It is a one man operation run with extreme professionalism.

One month earlier we paid $478 to the "rip off" artist, who didn't do the job, left the carpet wet and splattered mud on the wall. Two days after they were out, the drain plugged up again. They came back, spent 15 minutes and wanted another $125. Please don't ever use this company!
