Drain Busters

Once again, great work. He was able to come out the same day I called. I paid a little extra for it, but he was upfront about what it would cost today vs. tomorrow. I thought it was worth the extra $25 (or something like that). He's served me well three times now. He's my first call next time this happens.

I found Drain Busters on Angies's List while researching another drain company on Angie's List. Drain Busters were local, and the comments from other Lister's made me want to hire this company (my problem wasn't serious, just annoying). Well, I just had to see if everything written was true. It was - Joe runs an honest and professional business. You couldn't find a better guy to clean your drains - I would recommend him 100%. Refreshing to know service like this exists.

When I discovered six inches of water in the basement, I called Drain Busters, who suggested I use a Wet Dry vac to dump as much of the standing water as possible until he could get there. He had two calls before me but said he would be at my house around 7 p.m. He was right on the mark. He took awhile to replicate the problem and determined it was the main sewer line, which hadn't been cleaned out for three years. The downstairs shower drain was also very slow, and my house guest doing laundry, showering, and flushing overwhelmed the shower and sewer lines. Joe spent about two hours extracting a massive wad of tree roots and a clump of hair. It could have been worse. Although I would have preferred spending $180 in some other way, I am deeply grateful for Joe coming on an emergency basis. I have used him before to clean a laundry tub line and floor drain, and he had done excellent work. He explained everything he was doing and showed me exactly what the problem was. Joe pointed out some plumbing work I will need to have done in the future to prevent pressure forcing water from around the base of the toilet when such a backup occurs. My plan, however, is to ask Joe to come again in a year or two in an attempt to prevent such a problem in the first place. He is definitely an excellent candidate for the job.

I called Joe on Tuesday and he was out today for our annual main drain line cleaning. He is a very nice person and let me watch and explain what he was going to do. I had a really great experience. Since my drain was in really good shape he suggested to have it clean every 2 years instead of annually. Honest and Professional. He cleaned up and the experience was EXCELLENT. I would rate in A+++ I will only use his services for all my future drain needs in the house. Good job DRAIN BUSTERS! And good job Angie's list for your reports!

Joe was great - ontime, went to work right away. He explained what i can do to avoid clogs in the future. I will call him with any drain issues in the future!

This was a weekend "emergency" call. We called Joe at 4:45 PM. He answered promptly and was very pleasant. We described the problem and he gave us a quote on the phone. Because we required weekend/ emergency service, the price quoted for service was more than had we waited until Monday. We felt the quote was reasonable and so requested that he come out to clearn the drain. He said that he would arrive at our home within 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Joe arrived at 6:00 PM--within in the window earlier specified. Joe presented himself professionally. He came into the basement, diagnosed the problem, and went back to his truck to retrieve the correct tool--a 40-ft. electric auger. He went right to work and within 10 minutes the drain was cleared. The pitch of our basement drain is not steep and it has never emptied quickly. That said, when Joe tested the drain, he decided to reauger just to be on safe side. After clearing the drain, Joe washed down the floor in the affected area. He presented an invoice for the agreed amount. We paid him, then he was on his way within an hour. We would recommend Joe to anyone who needed drain cleaning--basement, sink, toilet and garbage disposal.

Even though it was the Saturday morning after the Thanksgiving holiday, Drain Busters came through for us and came out to clear our main drainage line. Our drain in the basement had backed up. (They had originally provided service to us in July.) They were very professional, there was no grumbling or indication that they were inconvenienced to have to come back. It was a relief to us to have them respond so well, and clear the line, so that we could get back to enjoying our holiday weekend. Wonderful.

Joe arrived promptly, assessed my basement drain back-up problem and went directly to the source of the problem - the main sewer drain. Since it had probably not been cleaned since the house was built in 1935, it was quite a struggle for him to remove the drain cover, but he got it off and in the end replaced the old one with a new, user-friendly cover. This was a stubborn clog. There were a few blade size changes required in order to auger through the pipe, and lots of roots and gunk extracted during Joe's 3-hour+ visit. Throughout the entire process he cheerfully explained the nuances of drain cleaning to me as I peered over his shoulder asking questions. He successfully cleared the drain from my house out to the middle of the street. Given the time spent on the job, courtesy & high-quality customer service and excellent results, I was very happy with his fee.

Drain Busters came out on the holiday weekend right away. Service was just what we needed. Price was high because of the holiday but this was explained ahead of time. They even suggested we wait until Monday and save some money, but we could not wait. Two previous attempts by two other providers earlier in the year did not resolve the problem. Drain Busters stayed at it for several hours until the job was finished correctly. We are very satisfied.

We had water periodically backing up from our basement shower drain. Joe not only cleaned out the drain, he also explained exactly why we were having the problem (kitchen sink drained upstream of the shower drain). Work was done quickly and Joe was a pleasure to work with. I will be using Drain Buster for any future sewer cleaning needs.

Not quite Christmas Eve or Christmas day but close. After having part of the family over for dinner it was time to clean pots and pans and fill the dish washer. Running the garbage disposal casued water and other unsavory things to fill the ajoining sink. Great, with two more days of baking, cooking and lots of dirty dishes this was the making a a real disaster. Oh and we just heard on TV that we are on our way to a potential record snowfall. I tried the old coat hanger and plunger but the clog was not going anywhere. Now keep in mind this is 9:30pm. So after my limited attempts at freeing the clogged sink I went to Angie's List to find what I hope would be a tradesman willing and able to come out to fix this problem. Oh and the future mother in law is here. Scanning the list I settled on a company that was close to our home and had very high marks for service and quality. I made the call, fully expecting a message saying to call later. To my surprise and delight Mr Whitters answered the phone. I explained the problem. He asked quesitons to get as much of the picture as possible and offered possible alternatives to a a higher priced emergency service call. I decided to have him come and correct the problem rather than waiting till Christmas eve or day. Remember more celebration and more baking and cooking. He came very promptly, cleared the drain quickly and without a mess. He was very pleasant and confident and assured us that our problem sink drain was no different than many other that use garbage disposals. Thanks to the Angie's List for leading me to this quality professional and thank you Mr Whitters for a job well done and for saving our holiday from disaster. I will not hesitate to call Drain Busters in the future if needed (hopefully not on or near a holiday)

A tech was sent out to diagnose the problem and perform the cleaning. During the cleaning it became clear that the previous owner of the house had not performed this regular maintenance issue and thus the line had become quite clogged with roots. Due to the density of the roots, a kink formed in the tool. This eventually led to a portion of the tool snapping off in the main line. The tech came out the next day to finish the job but was unsure as to whether the remaining portion of the tool had been removed. The owner, learning of this issue came out himself with a camera man to examine the line and remove the portion of the tool that still remained. Although 3 visits to finish the job was inconvenient, the company clearly cares about customer satisfaction and getting the job done right. Despite the broken tool and extra labor I was not charged more than my initial quote. I have now signed up for their yearly service and hopefully something like this will not become an issue in the future. I will be telling my neighbors with large trees to give them a call!

Called up on a Thursday, they showed up on Friday, right on time. Did a good job explaining the job and got it done in less than an hour. Very solid work.

The repair person arrived right on time and not only unclogged my bathroom tub drain but showed me how to disconnect the stopper parts so that I could easily removed the hair clogging the drain next time myself, instead of having to call in a repair person. At my request, he looked at my sink drains to see if any of them needed work, concluded that all of them were fine, and explained how to tell if there was really a problem with my rather slowly draining kitchen sink (vs. what just reflected the structure of the older plumbing setup). He was very nice and helpful, and his advice was designed to save me money in future, rather than create work for himself.

They came out a couple weeks ago. They had no problem clearing our main sewer line, but they ran into trouble with our bathtub drain. The drain's trap was original to the house (1953) and the snake couldn't get through to the blocked area. In fact, the snake got ruined. After the work was performed, the tub drain actually got worse. I called them back and was told that we should probably have the trap replaced or we would continue to have problems. This was a little disconcerting since I wasn't looking to spend that kind of money, but it turned out to be a DIY project for my husband, brother, and father. Drain Busters said they would come back to re-snake the drain after the plumbing work was completed. They came back out recently to re-snake the tub drain, free of charge, just as they promised. I have been very impressed with the owner's professionalism.

Joe showed up precisely on time, 1 p.m. His shirt identified him as Drain Busters, and his friendly, professional manner set the tone for the job. He introduced himself to the cats and got right to work, explaining his plan and showing me a few details about the drain no one else had ever taken the time to explain. He spent about 45 minutes total on the job, including writing the invoice and providing a receipt, and the drain functions as it should. Even as a two-person operation, he does not take phone calls during his time with a client, devoting his time entirely to the job at hand. I am delighted with his work.

They were quick and price was good, and very good with unclogging the drain.

My sister-in-law had a clogged drain in the laundry room. My brother was out of town, so I tried fixing it, no luck. I called Joe at Drain Busters at 10AM and he was out by lunch to fix it. He cleaned the main drain to the street and was on his way. Turns out the clog was under the house before getting to the main drain. Joe came back out and cleared that drain same day for no extra charge. My sister-in-law was very pleased with his work, attitude and how quickly things were taken care of.

My floor drain in the basement overflowed into a newly remodeled basement on Father's Day. I explained the problem over the phone and the company owner said that a technician would be contacting me to set-up a time to come look at the problem. The technician never called, so the owner ended up coming to do the work himself. In addition to quickly finding and fixing the problem, he gave me tips to keep in mind in the future to help me avoid similar problems. We think the culprit was the garbage disposal was a clogged garbage disposal drain that affected the basement floor drain.

We called for an appointment and they came out on a Saturday (no weekend charge!!!). After snaking out the pipe that had lots of grease (it's an old house with almost 100 years of build up), Bob showed us a trick to keep the grease at bay--pour boiling hot water down the drain every month or so. Who knew??? Plus they have a 6 month guarantee. Drain Busters is great! I highly recommend them.

I had Drain Busters out a couple or three yrs ago for the same problem, so I knew who to call. I phoned in first thing in the a.m., and was told that someone would be out between 4 and 6pm. Ben arrived promptly at 4pm. He filled the double sink with water to test how fast/slow it would drain. He disconnected the pipes, and ran the snake through the pipe toward the street sewer. After removing the snake, he repeated the drain test, and determined that some clogging still remained. He repeated the snaking and drain test, and this time the sink drained perfectly. Ben explained what he was doing as he went along, he was polite, courteous, and did a good job of cleaning up after he was done. Total elapsed time: 1 hour.

They came within their window of time. The Gentleman that I made the appointment with actually came to my house and did the work. He was very pleasant and professional. Did the work quickly and charged me the quoted rate. I have nothing but good things to say about this Company and would (and do) recommend them.
