This detailed correspondence to nPower tells the storyt well. The generator ultimately was fixed to our satisfaction, but they get Cs across the board as far as I am concerned. ========================================================================= 8/21/2010 Dear Mr. Andrews: Received your letter dated 7/28/2010 thanking us for bringing our RV in for generator service, and encouraging us to provide feedback to your satisfaction survey (which we have done). I regret to inform you that we are dissatisfied with the service quality and responsiveness of your Onan department. We brought our RV (1992 Holiday Rambler) in for service around mid-July, and were told that a carburetor replacement was likely. We initialed the usual release for a nominal amount of work to be done ($150 I think is your shop standard, but I did not make note the first time), and expected a call. On not receiving a call, we called and were surprised that $500 in work had been done without our authorization ? cleaning work ONLY, no new carburetor. I accepted this, picked up the unit on 7/16, and due to time constraints was unable to test the generator before the shop closed. However, on firing it up, I immediately noticed it was running very unevenly, and unable to stay on more than a few minutes before dying. We called (while we were on vacation) and informed your service department of this. The managers suggested I add Seafoam and run the unit; I put in $50 worth to no effect. We arranged to bring the unit in on 8/9. I again signed the $150 release (making note of the amount that time) and have been waiting on a call. I suppose I will call Monday morning, but I am surprised at the lack of service in not hearing any word for 2 weeks. I am also concerned that there may be further charges which I am reluctant to pay; I feel that if a new carburetor had been put in in the first place we might have avoided all this. I appreciate your letter. I realize that you deal with many rigs and major capital equipment, and that this, our first RV (inherited from my late father in law) is smaller and older.
