Complete Custom Painting

This company and Nick Dettinger are absolutely outstanding! Nick came first to do the estimate for the painting. HIs estimate specified everything that they would paint, the number of cedar shakes they would replace (woodpecker damage) the type of paint that would be used. He recommended that I call Sherwin Williams to select paint. They sent a consultant to my house who helped me select colors. Painting was scheduled quite quickly. The painting crew was professional and efficient. Job was completed in a couple of days and looks great. Nick gave very personal service: he stayed in touch with me during the process, reviewed the work when done, and took care of minor issues that needed to be addressed afterward. He was always easy to reach and always responded.

Owner came out for an estimate and was very friendly, the communication to schedule the project took slightly longer than expected but from estimate to completion was about a month, so not bad at all. The painter that came was very nice, punctual and did a great job! Very pleased!

It went very well. They helped us out of a bind and did it on short notice very efficiently and very well. Very professional to deal with.

Nick is very responsive and easy to work with. The quality of the work is great. He came out to do touch ups after the work was complete, and obviously cares that the customer is completely satisfied. I wish the crew had covered surfaces a bit better while they did the work, but the end result is very good, and I felt the price was very reasonable.

They matched the painted color perfectly and also had to replace a number of broken shakes. Fearing it would rain on Monday, a five man crew showed up on Saturday and completed the project in three hours.

5 minutes before they were supposed to be here to give estimate the owner sends me an email that he is sending his cousin and he should arrive within 15 minutes. I was promised to have the estimate that night (thursday) but didn't hear a word from him. I told him we would like to have it by the weekend so we can go over it and get a decision made. I sent the cousin an email on friday per the email address on the business card he left....no response. Sent Nick an email on saturday asking if we could get the estimate yet that weekend. He said his cousin was out of town but thought I could have it sunday. Nick responded again saying his cousin had some questions for him that he didn't get time to answer for him. I finally did get the quote on sunday, very poor outline of what was to be done. I had also asked him to quote spraying all the ceilings as well as painting the exterior...never did receive those numbers. I felt like they totally blew us off and didn't give us the time of day. Would not recommend this company!!!!!!

Nick and his team did a wonderful job. I emailed Nick initially about the job. He was prompt in returning my call and scheduled a time within the next day or two to come out and take a look at the job. He provided me with a detailed and accurate bid. His pricing was higher than the competitors however I checked his references and he was willing to go the extra mile to make sure that our needs were met. Even though his bid was higher we received the value that we were expecting. They painted the walls and trim on a kitchen and a family room, painted the frames on all our kitchen cabinets, and sprayed the cabinet doors, the drawer fronts, and 5 metal radiator covers. The crew took the cabinet doors, drawer boxes and radiator covers off-site and sprayed them at his shop. They all look wonderful. The painters on the job, Trevor and Missy, did great work. They were neat, conscientious, and professional. They showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and did great work. In addition, they were creative and helped sort out some challenging issues we had with cabinet hardware. We were on a tight timeframe as we're putting our house on the market. Nick was very helpful in getting a high quality job done very quickly and met our needs. He was prompt in responding to telephone calls and emails. I would highly recommend him and would happily use them again.

Our home is 28 years old and our family room had never been re-painted. It was about time. I found Complete Custom Painting on Angie's list and owner, Nick Dettinger. Once I met Nick and got the quote from him, I didn't even bother getting other quotes. The price was right and I went with my gut and hired his company to do the job. His painter, Trevor, was personable and skilled. He did a great job on both the family room and deck. In addition to doing a flawless job on the walls of the family room, Trevor repaired a small water stained area on the ceiling. It matched the rest of the ceiling perfectly and because the entire ceiling did not have to be re-painted, he saved me hundreds of dollars. I'm also trying to lengthen the life of my 28 year old wood deck for a few more years. Even though it is old, it is still quite solid, but the surface was badly peeling from previous types of stains. Nick had Trevor prepare the surface and apply "Super Deck", a product that contains an "elastomeric coating" that goes on thick. It was much cheaper than building a new deck and it looks great. How long it will last still remains to be seen, but if it gives my deck a few more years, I'll be happy. In summary: Complete Custom Painting is great to work with, they did a quality job and the price was very reasonable.

I am a tough customer to please! From day 1 Nick was wonderful. He always returned my phone calls or emails within 24 hours. I had changed the scope of the project a couple times, and he made it no big deal. I had a lot of questions and wanted every detail (because I have been burned by painters in the past), and he was more than helpful. We had old 80's dark wood trim and old paint on the walls. His team transformed our house! It is now bright and beautiful. On the final walk through with Nick, I found a lot of small imperfections and things that needed to be touched up. He was so patient with me, and fixed everything I pointed out to him. Our realtor came by and said how clean the paint lines were, and how good of a job the painters did! Because of Nick and his team, our house finally looks good enough to sell. Nick is the only painter I will be calling in the future ... and that says a lot coming from someone who is rarely satisfied by contractors. Look no more, these are the painters you'll want too.

At first I wasn't going to submit a review of this company, but I feel I owe it to others like me that use Angie's List a lot. Now that the project is complete, there are some nagging issues I want to share. I gave Nick an A for the finished job but it was a nightmare getting to it. He told me that they would not leave until I was satisfied with the work done, and that is true. The crew that did the job was very unprofessional. They brought no water or drinks for themselves despite working in the hot sun. My wife and I were bringing out ice water to them the first few days. They had to borrow an extension cord for the paint sprayer cause they had none. They would paint in spots then move to a different side of the house. At one point I counted 12 incomplete areas of paint. They would put on the second coat while other areas were still unpainted. Very bad use of time management. I asked Nick to join me for the final walkthrough and he found a lot of things undone. Despite the house being 25 years old, they did no caulking repair before painting. There was a lot of overspray not touched up. They didn't prep the deck and after a rain, the paint buckled badly. Other than a light washing of the house, there was no prep work done, prep work that I assumed would be taken care of. To his credit, Nick had them come back and fix everything to my satisfaction. He also gave me a discount for extra work I did and the use of my cords and time. He gets an A for the finished job. The reason I am writing this review is because of two nagging questions that keep playing back in my mind; On the initial visit, Nick told me this crew had been with them for 3 years. A week later on the phone, he told me it was 11 months, and on the final walk through, he told me 2 years. I wonder what the truth is. The other thing is that his lead man asked me if they could simply caulk the holes in the boards from woodpecker damage and I said use your best judgement. Nick, on his final inspection made them rip them out and replace the boards. I picked up one of the boards they had pulled off, and it was so rotten, it crumbled in my hand. This tells me the guy intentionally patched the rotton board hoping no one would notice. This to me, is the definition of unethical behavior. Nick himself, is a nice guy and kept his promises to the end. I realize that this review reflects the work of one employee for the most part, but looking at this company's profile on Angie's List, I expected so much more from start to finish.

I contacted Complete Custom Painting and Nick, the owner, came out quickly to provide an estimate for the work. I had contacted two other providers as well and between them, Nick's was the best priced. I was initially concerned about choosing the best priced because I felt I might be sacrificing quality, but Nick reassured me by explaining to me the prep work he would provide, the application process and the top quality paint used. In addition, Nick provided a list of references, so I contacted a previous client to hear how their experience was. After this I was comfortable moving forward. The crew was able to get started quickly on my project and the whole thing took about 3 full days, excluding two rain days in between. I monitored the project and when I saw some areas that needed extra prep work, the crew addressed it. In the end, my house look completely transformed. My wife and I were so happy with the final look. I will definitely use this company again. Overall, I was completely satisfied with the final outcome, the quality of the paint job, the time it took to complete the work and it was well worth the money spent. Nick the owner is very responsive and has a good crew. Great job guys!

Excellent service, very professional crews. The work was done quickly and neatly. All of our requests were addressed. The pricing is fair and the value is great. We would not hesitate to use Nick and Complete Custom Painting again.

If I ever have work done, or buy anything for that matter, I usually get at least 3 bids or quotes but after meeting Nick and getting a bid I knew his price was fair and that he would do great work. So, we went with his bid right away. We have always done painting ourselves because we don?t mind the work and both my wife and I are pretty good at it. But after having Nick and Adrian do all the prep, painting and clean-up for our major remodel (including provide the paint), it's obvious that having Complete Custom Painting do the work was well worth it and a wise choice. They provide exceptional value; the quality of the work and materials are well beyond what we could do ourselves and the time savings were unbelievable! In about 2 ½ days, they completed everything perfectly. It would have taken my wife and me at least a week, probably 2 weeks, of work. I am very meticulous and have high quality standards with any project?and these guys definitely exceeded my expectations. .We couldn't be happier with the results....Nick and his crew were painting over golden oak cabinets/trim as we gave our kitchen a facelift. The work was started and completed on time, the results were excellent and the crew as professional and personable. Would definitely use them again as they do quality work.

Extremely pleased with the quality of the work. The crew worked long days and finished the job ahead of schedule, even though we asked them to fix a small area. Besides being very response and accommodating, the crew did a great job of protecting the walls and flooring and cleaning up when done. Nick was flexible both in providing multiple quotes (as we made changes to the scope of the project) and arranging the dates of service to meet our needs. Love the final product and we feel we got great value for our money.

We have historically done all painting around our house ourselves, but our exterior natural cedar siding was getting dry and being attacked by woodpeckers. It desperately needed the finish refreshed, but the ladder heights needed on the sides going down to the walkout basement were concerning at our age. We obtained some estimates to have a contractor do the work for us this time, but couldn't afford the many thousands of dollars that the estimates were quoting. We decided to enlist our grandchildren to help us with the job. Between the four of them in their tween years and my husband, they were able to do all but the tall sides on the hill. When I saw the coupon for $500.00 for two painters for a day, I knew we had our answer. It was a little bit of a challenge to get the day scheduled, but Nick worked with me and we were able to make it happen. The house siding job was done, plus I got my laundry room (the forgotten room in the house) painted for the first time since the original coat when the house was new! Nick was very concerned throughout the job that we were happy with the work, I just feel bad that it's taken so long for me to write the review. Thanks Nick!

The service turned out really well. The owner was confused as he thought he listed the deal as interior only. I mentioned to him what the Big Deal said and he said they would definitely honor the exterior work. They were very professional and I was pleased with the work.

They painted within a day, and it was a nice job. I thought they did a nice job, and they were very good at suggesting ways to paint some proper ways, and so I thought they were a complete service, not just painters. I don't think I paid any more than the big deal.

The process went well. They arrived on time and started right in. They carefully covered everything. The team worked very efficiently completing the job in 2 days. They came back for a little touch up immediately and everything looks great.

My experience with Custom Painters was excellent! Scheduled the job within 7 - 10 days of wanting it done, guys arrived on time, kept my house clean (even tho we were having a huge snowstorm!) and were meticulous with the painting. It is a fairly large space and they were in and out in two days with no need for touchups or "repairs." Great experience, and I've had some doozy painters before! I highly recommend Nick and his crew for all your painting needs. He is professional, friendly, prompt and the work is done beautifully. I will be hiring them again!

I have used Complete Custom Painting several times. Nick is excellent to work with! I have always felt like he is looking out for my best interest, has attention to detail and is very professional. They have painted the exterior of my home and the interior, he stands behind his work and is very fair. Whenever we have painting needs, Nick's our guy.

We purchased an Angie?s List ?Big Deal? for 2 painters for 8 hours for $499, hoping they?d be able to paint 2 bedrooms, a hallway, a bathroom, and a stairwell in that amount of time. We anticipated it being a challenge, so we removed all the furniture from the rooms and everything from the walls. We also repaired all the dings we could find. This enabled the painters to concentrate on painting. We purchased the ?Big Deal? the end of May but were unable to get scheduled until the end of September as they were very busy with exterior jobs. Nick and Adrian arrived on time on the scheduled day. They were professional, courteous, friendly, informative, and a pleasure to have in our home. Nick had to leave at noon but said he?d make sure we got our full 16 hours, even if someone had to come back another day. Adrian had everything listed above painted by approximately 2:00 and asked if there was anything else we?d like painted. We had him paint another hallway that we had painted ourselves but unfortunately didn?t look very good. Adrian wasn?t sure he could make it look better, but he succeeded and it?s no longer an eyesore. He also painted the exterior of 2 small basement windows. He was very fastidious and careful to not get paint where it shouldn?t be. We were extremely pleased with not only the quality of their work but also the quantity. They were careful to not damage anything and cleaned up before they left. Nick offered advice on what paint to buy, and we were able to use his name to get a discount. He answered all of our questions prior to the day scheduled. We would not hesitate to hire Complete Custom Painting again. Thanks very much guys!
