Our goal is always to provide a classy event that makes people want to return for another event. Class Act is always central to our efforts. Most recently Class Act catered our annual women's brunch for 190 guests. The buffet table with fantastic, creative food, combined with amazing flower arrangements was a centerpiece of the room. Guests rave about the food and how elegant it looks. Linda, the owner of Class Act, has a special gift for presentation of the food. It really does become key to the classy atmosphere we strive to create. Linda always offers ideas for creative foods and flavors to make each of our events distinctive. That's important to us as so many guests return for our events year after year. Linda's staff are a pleasure to work with. Their efficiency and attention to detail makes the event look effortless. If there's a glitch Linda has it covered. In one event in an older building the circuit breakers tripped for the kitchen. She took care of it with the custodian and none of the guests even knew a near catastrophe had been averted. Working with Class Act takes the pressure off our staff and allows us to focus on the guests. The Class Act team are professional, creative, resourceful and always gracious. I highly recommend Class Act Catering to all my friends and associates.
Description of Work: Class Act has catered our last seven fundraising events ranging from brunches to dinners.

Linda and her team were excellent. From menu suggestions to setup/serving/ and clean up it was perfect. We are still getting compliments on how great it was (and lots of "can i get the recipe requests too). Linda anticipated our needs, worked around our schedule and more than exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable. Considering that we had 30 or so guests in a fairly small space, you'd think a crew of three and all that food would have been in the way but somehow it was if there weren't even there. I would use class act catering again (and again).

Linda's food is fabulous! We discussed all the details and divided tasks as I wanted to; she would have done it all had i let her! Her team arrived as planned; about 2.5 hours early to ensure proper set up of the appetizers etc. Her staff even helped me with some last minute decorating! Very personable and professional I would hire Linda again in a heartbeat.

Class Act Catering was hired to cater my wife?s wine tasting birthday party. Linda Savage, the owner, was recommended by one of our neighbors. She took on the project with only 10-days notice and the party was outstanding and the food was a big part of that. We had 25 people. Linda mad up 4 different appetizers and 2 or 4 deserts. It was the perfect amount of food and it all went great with the 10-different wines that we tasted. They did a very nice job decorating the dining room table and it looked fantastic. Linda and her assistant stayed for whole party and did a great job serving and keeping the dining room table full of the wonderful food. Although catering an event like this is not inexpensive, it was great to not have to worry about cooking and serving and we were able to spend the evening socializing with our friends. We all had a great time and we would certainly recommend Class Act Catering.

On one week's notice, Linda Savage provided a sumptuous and elegant catered buffet for my mother's funeral. Linda was a delight to work with, responding to my very specific requests and making a number of adjustments as we planned. She was flexible, professional, compassionate, responsive and readily available. Then there was the buffet! It was extraordinary! Many friends and family raved about the food and presentation. The serving staff was prompt, professional, and very effective in interfacing with the guests. The funeral director commented that it is the best catering service he has seen. Overall, it was an elegant tribute to my mother. I would highly recommend their services.

Linda and her staff arrived promptly and started setting up and cooking right away. She and her staff were very pleasant and efficient. They cleaned up throughout the night and left my kitchen very clean! After hosting several of these parties, I knew right away with Linda and her wonderful staff that I could relax and enjoy the party!
Description of Work: Corporate Christmas party in our house for 55 people. Having not ever tasted Linda's food (I went solely from Angie's list recommendations), I was nervous, but after meeting Linda and her staff and tasting her food, my expectations were met. The food was superb, the menu selections were great and the staff and presentation were wonderful and very professional. The guests continually remarked at how wonderful the food was. I will definitely hire again. Met all of my expectations! Thanks Linda!

I left early on Saturday to go to the Church with my daughter and so I didn't see the yard until we arrived after the ceremony at 4:30 pm. I walked into the most MAGICAL, beautiful wedding I have every seen. The flowers were STUNNING and abundant, at the appetizer stations she used asparagus bundles with stargazer lilies. We had given her poetic "license" to use whatever flowers were in season, as long as the colors worked with my daughter's wedding and it was the best decision because they exceeded our expectations. And now the food...it was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Linda brought plenty of serving staff so that no one waited, food was coordinated so we all ate at the same time. he wait staff were attentive yet not intrusive. The appetizer/signature drink stations were stunning to look at and the appetizers were amazing. We had beautiful antipasto platters at the tables with baguettes and olive oil, a wonderful pork loin and mashed potatoes, (the best I've ever eaten), a special family pasta, and green beans. A Class Act Catering EXCEEDED my expectations in every instance. I have had MANY people tell me it was the loveliest wedding they have ever attended and it happened--in no small measure--to Linda and her company. I will be happy to talk to anyone interested in more information about this company, you will not be disappointed.
Description of Work: A Class Act Catering provided the catering and flowers for my daughter's wedding in our yard on Forest Lake. We had 170 guests, with two huge tents spread over our yard and our neighbor's yard. We did paired appetizer/drink stations and a family style Italian dinner. Class Act Catering also did the flowers for the wedding and for the reception.

Need Great Food for a Large Party - We Let Class Act Do It for Us! How many people do you know who are willing to give up a major holiday and deliver absolutely delicious, expertly catered food to over 100 people? That's exactly what Linda Savage and her team did for us on Memorial Day. Class Act arrived well before the party started and unloaded professional storage equipment that was packed with food and desserts for our guests. The Class Act team setup and prepped everything in our kitchen and then transferred the meal outdoors to our canopy tents in the backyard where they setup a buffet to serve our guests. We did not have to do a thing and we could tell that the recipes were unique and absolutely fantastic. Class Act made our party simple and fun; exactly what it should be. Our guests loved the food and so did we. Did we have a major surprise? Yes! Class Act left our kitchen spotless and cleaner than when they arrived! Thank you so much Class Act for traveling all the way to Orono and helping to make our child's graduation party so memorable!!!
Description of Work: Expertly Catered High School Graduation Party for over 100 People My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with the Class Act Catering team. We found Class Act on Angies's List several months ago and interviewed them as well as other caterers for our child's Memorial Day high school graduation party. For us, Linda Savage is tops when it comes to planning and delivering a very high quality, seamless, turnkey food solution for a party. She was very helpful in selecting an appropriate menu that was enjoyable for both high school age children and adults. Once we decided what we wanted, Linda took control of the rest. We just sat back and enjoyed! Class Act delivered outstanding food quality and service.

My daughter made the arrangements with the florist, and they both were definitely on the same page in understanding what it was the bride was hoping for. On the day of the wedding, the flowers were delivered on time, with bouquets placed in water-filled vases for freshness. The flowers for the bridal party and parents were clearly marked so we knew what was for who. Definitely an advantage on the hectic wedding day! There was even an extra boutonniere provided because...well, the unexpected can happen - like our granddaughter's energetic hug crushing father of bride's boutonniere before the ceremony. The large floral arrangements for the church and reception were out of this world - beautiful, atypical wedding flowers like Asiatic lilies, runinculas, accented by gorgeous large roses and....beautiful things I do not know what they were. (Definitely check out the photos online that the company provides and you will see what I mean.) The ceremony and reception were at different venues, a half hour apart, and Class Act handled both sites beautifully. There were even roses placed on ledges near the waterfall behind the cake! Really above and beyond and gorgeous. The flowers around and on the wedding cake were stunning. Communication was clear on which vases were to be returned, and flexibility provided about when to return them. I felt that my business was appreciated. It is a privilege to enthusiastically recommend Class Act for your special event.
Description of Work: Class Act provided the floral arrangements for my daughter's wedding. Everything was way beyond my expectations - from the variety and freshness of the flowers and beautiful, creative arrangements to the prompt and professional service. Class Act even provided bud vase arrangements for the ladies' room, which was a beautiful and personal touch. My mother of bride wristlet had lovely faux pearl stretch bracelet to hold it into place, three strands for stability, no less. My daughter's wedding colors were raspberry, teal, and peacock (deep purply blue) and OH MY what beautiful flowers were chosen. We got many compliments about the flowers and would recommend this florist enthusiastically!

My new husband and I were absolutely delighted with this caterer. We contacted several caterers for quotes and menus, however from the first phone call, the owner (Linda) was very responsive and easy to work with. She provided quotes, offered elegant suggestions, and was able to accommodate our various requests along the way. At the event, the food was delicious and the presentation was spectacular, despite some limitations in our site (a ballroom without kitchen facilities)! Several of our guests offered very favorable comments on the food and the elegant display. Her staff was efficient, professional, and unobtrusive. I highly recommend Class Act and will certainly use them again for future events.

Everything went perfectly. When the party was winding down, Linda and team moved all the left overs into our dishes, cleaned up and left without any great fanfare. They were very respectful and kind.
Description of Work: Linda and her team brought all the food, serving dishes, utensils, etc. and set-up the buffet while we were at my mother's memorial services. When we returned, everything was in perfect order and cocktails and appetizers were served. The food was fantastic! and as the host I was able to worry about talking to my friends and family and didn't once worry about the food or drink service. Linda and staff walked around the and removed empties and kept the buffet fully stocked. She is so kind and always does an outstanding job. You won't be sorry! Thanks Linda!

Working with Linda was a real pleasure. She listened to what we wanted and was accommodating to what we wanted for a relaxed pre-reception and wedding dinner service at a park. The food was excellent and she and her assistant were helpful. professional and unobtrusive with setting up our 'casual' wedding in the park event. Our limited budget didn't allow us to use all the services Class Act offers but we never once felt anything less than her most important customer. I would highly recommend Class Act to anyone needing trouble free professional service and excellent food. The name of Linda's business is well deserved.

Everything went well, the homemade food, efficient service and presentation were wonderful. The lunch was enjoyed by everyone and our guests had positive comments on the luncheon.
Description of Work: We needed a lunch prepared for a family funeral. I called Linda and asked for some suggestions for a lunch after funeral service. She came up with a wonderful menu and everyone enjoyed the meal. She also provided a gorgeous centerpiece. Everyone raved about the meal....a wonderful scalloped potato with ham recipe, lettuce salad with oranges and cranberry bits, artesian breads, coffee, hot apple cider, and delicious homemade pumpkin bars. Linda took care of table placemats, eating utensils. The entire luncheon was put in her hands, and was such a relief to us in our time of sorrow.

Linda did a FABULOUS job of catering and getting other vendors to assist. The food was amazing and everyone commented how wonderful it was. These compliments don't come easy from this group, so that is a HUGE compliment to Linda and her crew. It was a difficult location to set up and all of the dishes, linen, and of course food needed to be brought in, up an elevator and to a room. Linda was very prepared and left nothing to chance. I would definitely use her again!!!! BRAVO, Linda!

We wanted a fun event with the emphasis on having people be able to connect with each other, dance and enjoy the band. We decided to focus on appetizers and desserts rather than a traditional sit-down meal. We challenged Linda's creativity by specifying a kosher-oriented veggie-dairy-fish meal and she came up with some delightful options. She said that desserts are her specialty and we could see why - they were terrific! While as the bride and groom, we were too busy to eat, our friends raved about the food during the reception and for days afterward. She made sure to hold out a sampling of desserts, so we at least had a chance to taste her creations (at breakfast the next day and still excellent). The roasted veggie quesadilla station was a hit, the variety of appetizers creative and yummy, and the desserts (as noted) "to die for." She worked well with our wedding planner and, from our perspective, everything went smoothly. If there were glitches, they were managed without our knowledge. Interestingly, we didn't have a great deal of communication, just a couple of conversations and e-mail. We trusted her skills and judgment, gave our input and let her take it forward like the professional that she is. We had a grand time at our wedding, got rave reviews from our friends and enjoyed working with Linda.
Description of Work: Linda catered our wedding for approximately 160-170 people. She interviewed us about our style and preferences, suggested some menus and approaches and came in with her crew and managed the event.

They did a fantastic job!!! If I could give them an A+++++ rating, I would. This situation was different in that in order to keep it a surprise, they basically had to have two sets of food going at the same time. Here's how it was setup...a smaller group of 8 people (including my wife) went out on our boat with some of Class Act's special cocktails and appetizers. While we were out on the boat, the rest of the party filled into the house for the surprise. That group had the same cocktails and appetizers at the house. Having dual appetizers and cocktails going kept everyone on the same timetable. When we got back from the boat ride, my wife walked into a house full of people who surprised the heck out of her. It was awesome!! When we got back and the party started, Class Act served a buffet-style dinner with a great salad, yummy au gratin potatoes, spectacular Beef Tenderloin and chicken with prosciutto with white wine. Believe me, it was fantastic. Class Act was exactly that...a class act. They came prepared ready to work. They followed the plan perfectly. The food was fantastic. They got rave reviews from party-goers who consider themselves "foodies" and are pretty particular when it comes to food (including my wife, who is a great cook). They worked behind the scenes. They stayed out of the way, but always kept an ear open in case something might be needed. They found what they needed to find in the kitchen and kept the questions to a minimum. They only asked for something if they couldn't find it on their own. And when they left, it was like they were never there. Their cleanup was incredible. In addition to all that, they're just really nice people and were very easy to work with!!! I couldn't be more pleased with Class Act. I highly recommend them. Thanks Linda and Heidi !!!!!!
Description of Work: I had a surprise party for my wife's 50th birthday. Class Act Catering provided the catering for approximately 36 people including 3 appetizers, salad, two main courses, homemade au gratin potatoes, their signature Strawberry Mojitos cocktails and coffee.

The taste testing was thorough, with a number of excellent options at our request. Linda was a great listener, took copious notes and provided insightful suggestions along the way. Crew was early and well organized, requiring little direction from the bride's parents. Clearly well experienced and knew what to do and when. Were very attentive to the bride and groom. Food was well prepared, presented and at the appropriate temperature. Guests truly enjoyed the ?moist? chicken marsala. Wait staff was very professional, well dressed and attentive to all tables. Everything was in place and in order upon our arrival at the venue. We didn't need to worry about the details. Linda did a great job of anticipating our needs.
Description of Work: Buffet style for 190 people, presented in the Semple Mansion. Cocktail hour appetizers, including Bruschetta, Buffalo Chicken fondue on french bread and a Chocolate Fountain. Although a fairytale setting for an outdoor wedding ceremony and reception, the venue was not set up to accommodate an outdoor reception for the number of guests we anticipated. It would definitely be a challenge for any caterer. Thus, the process of hiring a caterer was very stressful for me. Also I knew I had to hire an experienced caterer and of course, someone with a reputation for serving good food. I was familiar with Linda Savage as she had catered a co-worker s wedding and some of my employer's corporate events. She came highly recommended, and I knew her food tasted fabulous from first-hand experience. Prior to making the decision to hire Linda, she called me and asked if she could pick me up to go look at the property. I was so pleased that she took the initiative to do this. It was important to me that prior to hiring the caterer, they understood exactly what this job entailed. Linda was up for the challenge, and she actually seemed intrigued by it. She never gave me any reason to doubt her ability to pull it off. From the very beginning, Linda wanted to know every decorating detail as she coordinates her food display with the overall theme. She wanted to make sure she provided a menu that said something about what my daughter and her husband liked, but also serve something for everyone. Class-Act Catering surpassed my expectations. She and her staff definitely got their exercise while they scurried down the path through the dark woods carrying food from the kitchen to the patios. The kitchen was located approximately 250 feet away from the patios where the guests would be served and seated. The staff was cheerful as they worked under scarce lighting conditions in both the prep and serving tents near the guest patios. The majority of the property was lit by candles. Generators were used to power the quesadilla makers, and electric pots for coffee and hot cider. Just as the ceremony was about to begin, the generators were not working properly. Linda s staff took care of it, and I learned about it later after all the guests had been served. Linda's estimate of the amount of food required was good. There was not much left over and it was wrapped for us to take home. It's also worth mentioning that her staff did an excellent job cleaning everything up. We received so many compliments on how great the food tasted and on how beautifully it was displayed. Guests commented that they had gone through the line two or three times because everything tasted so great. Also, the serving staff was courteous, friendly, and professional. Hearing these comments blessed my husband and me so much. Class-Act Catering can cater any event successfully from casual to fine dining. Their experience is quite evident and their goal is to make the customer happy. More than a few guests said the wedding/reception was the most beautiful one they had ever attended. There's no doubt that Class-Act Catering was one of the reasons.
Description of Work: Class-Act Catering provided the catering for my daughter's outdoor wedding reception held in the evening on September 20, 2008. Linda Savage and her staff served the following appetizer menu to 240 guests: live quesadilla station that served both chicken and cheese quesadillas, pork tenderloin with a sesame-seed glaze, barbecue meatballs, buffalo chicken dip served on crackers, Mexican layered dip served with tortilla chips, fresh tomatoes with basil on toasted French bread, fresh fruit display in large sea shell with a honey cream dip, fresh veggie display with roasted red pepper dip and caramelized onion dip, assorted cube cheeses and brie wrapped in sun-dried tomatoes and basil, baskets of assorted crackers, flatbread, and sliced baguettes. The presentation of the food was so beautiful. It was amazing. She is very creative. Unfortunately, our pictures are few and if it wasn't for Linda, I would not have any. We overlooked designating someone to take pictures. Please view the pictures attached. Linda was willing to provide extra services by making sure the self-serve cheesecakes station was supplied with coffee, cider, water, plates, napkins and forks. This was not an easy task as it was on the opposite end of the property from where the appetizer reception was held.

The appetizers and dinner were delicious and artfully presented. The flowers were gorgeous and fresh and Linda even brought vases for the head table. Our guests raved about the food and wanted recipes afterwards. Linda and her staff were also gracious in serving our guests and seemed to really enjoy their work. They cleaned everything and wrapped up all of the extra food and put it away for us. I cant say enough nice compliments on the quality and service of Class Act Catering!
Description of Work: Class Act catering created a first-class dinner for our wedding which took place in a tent in the backyard of our home. Linda also arranged all of the flowers for our bridal party and did some arrangements for the buffet and cake table. Linda put together a unique and delicious menu that fit our budget. She put in a lot of time in answering our questions and arranged for a tasting before the event.

Overall, everything went wonderfully! From start to finish Class Act did a great job guiding us through the process of feeding 200+ people. Linda did a great job of helping us choose entr es, sides and appetizers that would please a lare group, and then took over the planning down to the smallest detail. One thing I wasn't worrying about on my big day was whether or not the food would be great! We were made to feel at ease the day of the wedding by Linda's courteous and efficient staff, and everything went off without a hitch, not to mention the rave reviews everyone at our party was giving about the delicious food! We were so impressed and happy with Class Act Catering and have recommended them to many friends and family.
Description of Work: Class Act Catering prepared and served all of the food for our wedding, at which they served 200 of our friends and family. This included all of the setup of the event, passed appetizers, a buffet style full dinner, and a beautiful dessert display with five different choices for our guests. They went above and beyond the call of duty by even packaging the leftovers for the family to take, and preparing a sampling of all of the food for us (the Bride and Groom) to eat at our hotel room after the reception. They noticed we hadn't had time to eat very much and had missed the appetizers completely because they were served before we arrived at the reception. Obviously, they cleaned everything up at the end of the night, and even I received a call a few weeks later from the director of the reception site letting me know how impressed she was with the service our caterer provided, and in what nice condition they had left the site.

They catered an open house reception with pasta salads, appetizers, punch, fresh green salads, ect. So many people came up to me and complimented the presentation and quality of food, which I thought was delicious. The personal touch made me feel like they went above and beyond service. They were willing to go the extra mile to help and also be part of the celebration! I'd recommend them to everyone!
