Chuck Hecht

Chuck was very easy to deal with. He listened to what we wanted and made helpful suggestions. He was willing to accommodate my wife's sensitivity to odors from off gassing. We are very happy with everything he installed. The railings are very sturdy and match the original stain. We are very happy with Chuck's work and plan to hire him again.

CRAIG WAS THE HANDYMAN - ASSEMBLY OF PREFABRICATED CABINETS He was professional and courteous and exacting! He called me into the room to show that the cabinets did not come with the appropriate number of screws, pins, etc. - I was able to get the missing parts at the local hardware store so Craig could complete the assembly. He was the epitome of professionalism, cleaned up after the work was completed, removed the boxes (HUGE BOXES), and Thanked US for using their service! Another added plus; being a 100% disabled veteran, the company is a Veteran owned business - I knew the work would be professional and correct!

Chuck responded quickly, accepted the job, and made an appointment which he had to cancel. A second appointment date was arranged. The day of the second appointment, he asked me to email him a picture of my house so he could see The roof. He then declined stating the pitch was too high. Our two-story home has a normal roof pitch. If Chuck had asked for a picture before the first appointment he could have declined or accepted at that time. I feel he unnecessarily delayed this project.

Great friendly people. Father & son responded to my question on finding someone to put up a small retaining wall/flower garden edge. I had figured 3-4 block high and we had all the materials. They hadn’t really done this before but were willing to do it, met with me & looked things over, gave me a reasonable bid, and were ready to start the next day. I had never done a wall, so would be going by youtube videos anyway. I knew with my time schedule it would take many weeks for me to complete, and if they figured a few days to a week, perfect! Weather slowed the progress but they would put in a couple hours when they could before the downpours ended their day. Which was fine. Heard they redid things a couple times just to make sure it was getting down right. Finished product looks great and I’m sure I couldn’t have done it any better – probably a little worse! Very satisfied with their work, timeliness, and clean-up.

We highly recommend Chuck Hecht to be your go to handyman. We needed to replace a rectangular, clear polycarbonate, window well cover. We contacted a number of stores in the area that dealt with windows...no luck. We contacted Chuck Hecht and he constructed (from scratch) a perfectly fitting, clear polycarbonate cover for the egress window well. In this same time period Chuck also devised a way to stabilize our breakfast table which is in the shape of an octagon. And he also replaced a faulty light switch. Prior to the above, we had trouble with a sliding pocket door which no one was able to fix. We contacted Chuck and he came up with a solution to the problem...no troubles with the door since he fixed it. We are very appreciative and want to thank Chuck for...Jobs Well Done.

He did a great job. He explained what the issue was and what he needed to do to fix it. He showed up right at the appointment time. When he wasn’t able to finish up because of the rain he stopped by the next week to complete the rest.

Chuck took a great deal of time assessing the work needed and provided a very reasonable quote. He was friendly and efficient and cheerfully responded to unforeseen challenges with the project. I will definitely use his services again and would highly recommend him,,,

Chuck came and evaluated the situation and quoted the price for the work. Then he went off to purchase the supplies needed and returned and got the work done. We were impressed worked while the sun was setting on an extension ladder. He worked quickly and cleaned up as best he could considering it was growing dark. We would definitely call Chuck again!

The result are excellent. Chuck went the extra steps to ensure a good result. The deck's appearance is good and my guess is that it will survive maybe three to four years with some maintenance. Both my spouse and I are pleased.

How this guy has good reviews on Angie's list is beyond me. He was punctual, showed up "around" the time he said he would to look over what needed to be done. But it's a whole other story once the work started, and was never completed. He sent out text, e-mail, and phone call of the time that he would perform the work on our house each day; however, EVERY SINGLE TIME was late by more than 6 hours. My wife took off, without pay, time from work to be home when he said he'd perform the work. Every single time he was VERY late, if he even showed up at all. The work he performed was mediocre, at best. The small shower was completed, after almost 4 weeks, but he did not sand, paint, or clean up the dry wall. There was dry putty every where, dust, dirt, nails, and small tools left behind - as well as boxes, instructions, and the previous shower that he said he'd cut up and make easy for us to dispose of (never touched it). The upstairs dividing wall between the living room and kitchen needed some simple latex (expanding) putty atop the divider where it connects to the ceiling, as well as holes filled and painted. He only added the putty at the last minute when he came to my house while my wife was alone at 9pm the day before his vacation demanding to be paid the FULL amount. This guy may seem nice at first, when you get the quote for the work, However, "buyer beware" when he actually starts to "work". Slow, lazy, and I will never recommend him to even my mother in law!

Chuck was very efficient and professional. Texted me ahead to let me know his ETA. Completed all jobs to my satisfaction and within a reasonable time frame.

It went very well. You book him on his website, and then you get confirmations, and reminders that he is coming. He finished in a timely manner. I told him that I have done other remodels and he is the only contractor that I have used that finished in a timely manner and showed up when he said he was going to. The last one that I had didn't come back, and had tile work around the tub to do. I still haven't heard from that contractor. Chuck came in and finished the job, and it looks great. His prices are very good and I will use him again.

Using his website, I scheduled a two hour block of time. His morning appointment was running late, so he called to inform me. He came and was easily able to repair the toilets using supplies from his truck and saving me $15 per toilet over supplies I had purchased and could now return. He scraped out the discolored caulk in a shower and on a sink. He provided ideas of how to fix items in my kitchen, which we will do at the next appointment. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Wonderful. Chuck is a hard working, honest guy that is on time, on budget, and has a good time doing it. He can come up with creative solutions that can save you money if needed. I would trust Chuck with my children if needed.

Great. I would trust him with my kids he is professional funny always on time and on top of communication. He will give you options, if something is bad he'll tell you the right fix. If you can put a Band-Aid on it for a while he'll give you that option. He will make sure you're informed throughout all steps on projects . He will work nights and weekend if needed to make a deadline with. I extra fee.

I am going to go ahead and guess this was too small a job for the provider. Showed up around the time of the appointment and I walked him through what I had stated in my initial appointment setup as to what I needed done. He took a piece of the railing wood to match stain and stated he would contact me with a time he could complete. Sent me a text later that the store was backed up and wouldn't have matched stain until the afternoon. Also stated cash was preferred for smaller jobs. I said I was fine with that and to let me know what time in the afternoon would work. Texted me back stating he had an afternoon project and cannot commit to a time. That was it. I have not received any communication since then (8/24/2017) and I have not received the wood piece back taken from my staircase railing to match stain. Understandable this was a small job and may not want to be dealt with, but I was very clear and up front from initial scheduling that it would be a small job. Obviously a terrible experience.

Chuck was easy to get hold of. He did a very good job with the project. Easy to work with and liked his attention to detail. Would definitely recommend Chuck and would hire him again.

Went great, Chuck rebuilt everything with thick cedar 2 by 4s and even rebuilt the eroded concrete at the bottom of frame for no additional cost. Chuck explained everything along the way and was very intersting to talk to.
