CARPETS PLUS COLOR TILE

Description of Work: Learned a lot about the carpet industry and much of it isn’t good. The team at Color Tile ended up getting me the best price (or should I say they sold me the carpet at the best price) based on a lot of back and forth with others in the area. Sad really how wide the margins really were once you got down to it. First rule, don’t buy carpet until you’ve price shopped it and know that the same carpet is sold under different names at different stores. This is to prevent or complicate the consumer from doing a head to head comparison. If you’re diligent though you’ll save money. The price was reasonable, but the one thing that irked me about the buying process was they charged my credit card for the full amount instead of the 50% deposit we’d originally agreed to. Meaning I floated the cost of the carpet for a while because it took a few weeks to get everything lined up. The installer was good and I was able to practice my very limited Russian on him. His English was good though so no communication issues. One note, the owner, Mike I believe, was noticeably frustrated with me with respect to the price shopping. If I recall correctly, they got the margin down to 12% and he said they wouldn’t go lower than that. Meaning his margin was closer to 22% when we first spoke.
