It was an absolute pleasure working with Chad and his crew and the project could not have gone any smoother. They were all very professional, friendly, on-time and very good at what they do. They finished the remodel in the time frame they estimated (1-1/2 weeks) and the finished product is something I am very proud of. Chad was great about responding to my emails almost immediately. I can't wait to work with them again, because they will be the only contractor I will every call again!

They cleaned up all the mold. The put in new insulation. They put a sealant on the walls, ceiling and floor that included a 10 year warranty. It went very well. They where very punctual and polite. They took time to explain what they were going to do and why they were doing it. They were always prompt when they came to my house. The owner is a very nice person.

Chad and his team showed up on the date promised and went about doing thier work in a professional and meticulous manner. The team was in and out of the house without inconveniencing my family. The job was completed on time for my mom's arrival and she was thrilled with the new look of the bedroom. Chad went above and beyond the job having his electrician come over to hang new lighting fixtures in the bedroom.

Performed assessment but never sent the estimate of remediation work to be performed. Contacted for follow up and was promised to receive once he returned from a conference. Still nothing. Been over 1 month.

I cannot say enough positive things about Chad and his team. They showed up on time. The work was completed in the estimated timeframe. They were neat and polite. Along the way they explained what they were doing. When the job became a quite a bit more complicated than originally thought, Chad kept to his original bid and still completed the additional work required to do the job right - no doubt absorbing some of the costs. He has a lot of integrity. I would definitely recommend Capital City Construction and Remediation .

Chad was punctual, personable and professional on our first meeting. Soon after, we met at Home Depot where some things were selected and I later went to other stores on my own to select tile, flooring and towel bars. We scheduled a date for work to begin, and it was moved by a few days as the time grew near. Work lasted for 10 days and I know Chad and his crew worked on the weekend and late into the night at least once to meet the scheduled completion date. I stopped by the house one night and saw that Chad and I had had a misunderstanding on where to place a vanity: he had it moved, which meant he also had to move the tile back splash. When I walked through the house at the end of the project, I saw that all work had been performed meticulously and with an eye toward perfection. It all looked very nice and everything has worked well. In following days, Chad returned to take care of minor details such as installing a shelf in the vanity.

Very professional. They worked very hard to get our job done on time, even though we had a really tight timeline. In fact, they even finished the job early. Chad was on top of the work every step of the way and kept us informed daily. They were also fabulous to work with. Everyone that came to our home was kind, courteous and respectful. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I cannot believe what a fantastic job they did!!!! Chad is very professional and personable to work with and very dedicated to high standards in taking on a project and very detailed orientated. He always communicated when necessary and kept me informed on the progress and anything that came up and needed to be addressed. Provided a timely response and itemized estimate of services needed and to be performed. Crew showed up on time as did the owner to walk through the process with the crew. Performed all tasks as assured. Left the workspace cleaner than what they had found it. Owner communicated with me directly prior to the job, during the job and then after the job was completed. They did nice work.

Great service and quality work! We were very satisfied with the outcome.

I built out my basement in the 90s and never had a water issue until the heavy rains last summer. A small amount of water kept leaking into the walkout basement from the back yard due to the high water table. This spring I did some landscaping/water diversion to correct the issue then removed wainscoting and sheetrock to see if there was any issue. There was a small amount of water damage and mold on the sheetrock and back of the wainscoting boards and some fiberglass insulation was still wet at the bottom of the wall. I called a few contractors and received guidance that ranged from "nothing structural needed" to "install a second sump pump and drain tile." I contacted Chad Harrington at Capital City for the mold remediation aspect of the job, which would be needed regardless of structural changes. Chad has significant construction experience as well as mold remediation expertise. He thought that the landscaping/water diversion changes would be sufficient and thought it would unnecessary and unduly expensive to add a second sump pump and drain tile. I tested the outside changes through several heavy rains and there was no leakage. I contacted Capital City and said I was ready for the mold remediation - which was not extensive, but I felt was important to be handled through a certified professional. The job was done quickly and efficiently - the worker was at the home a little more than two hours. Note: I did the removal and reinstallation of the wall itself - that was not part of the bid. Throughout, Chad demonstrated expertise and professionalism. He was always punctual and frank. Although this was a small job, my impression is that Capital City would do quite well with larger jobs as well.

Where do I begin on how great of a job Chad and his crew did?!?! I can't say enough positive things to reflect on how great of an experience this was. We had sold our condo, and we were moving into our first home. A home that had great bones, but needed a face lift. It had been well kept, but not updated since it was built in 1961. The primary focus of the rehab was to update a very outdated kitchen and dining room. It is incredible what they were able to do with the space. It looks like something straight out of a magazine. Chad helped us get an idea of what would look good, and what goes together. He was also able to make it a fun experience for us. He was so on top of everything that we had little to no doubt that our project was going to be done perfectly. He even completed ahead of schedule. Chad told us he was going to do as many projects as possible with the money we had available. This is where he far exceeded our expectations. We had hoped to get one or two things, but when it was all said and done he completed nearly the entire list. We have some more upcoming projects down the road and Chad will be getting that business for sure and we could not recommend him enough to anyone else looking to do a remodel of any size.

Chad was awesome! He looked at everything and reassured us that we didn't have a mold problem. He told us what he looks for and why and he did a moisture analysis. He talked to us about some other things and gave us some valuable feedback. He was so personable and honest. He refused any compensation for taking his time to come out and do the inspection. We will use Chad for any construction needs that come up and would highly recommend him.

I had water in my basement during this summer's torrential rains and friends recommended a drain tile system. So, I initially contacted an outfit that installs drain tile systems. However, the more I thought about it the less I thought it was going to address the problem, since I have never had water in my basement before. A few friends who have experience in construction suggested that the problem might be in a basement bedroom built by the previous owner which had a false floor. They suspected that the water was seeping in from there and that I should have the floor taken up. I read the excellent reviews here and chose Capital City to come take a look and give me a bid on the project. Chad came within a matter of days and had a bid to me in two days' time. He was able to schedule the work within 10 days, all of which was very impressive, since the company that was going to put in the drain tile system had a 4-month gap between the bid and when they could do the work! The crew came on a Thursday, and by the time I got home from work, the basement was sealed, there were fans blowing, and they only had to come back the next day to basically button things up, which they did. Chad, the owner, was in communication with me frequently, and I was very pleased with the whole thing. When I arrived home on Friday I inspected the work and found that they hadn't taken up the floor, although everything else was crackerjack - excellent! I immediately called Chad, explained my concern, and he assured me he'd take care of it. He didn't hesitate for a moment or try to defend the fact that it hadn't gotten done - right then I knew this company was the old-fashioned kind of company that actually puts their customer first. A week later Matt came out to complete the job. He was pretty sure he'd have it all finished in two or three hours, but as it turned out, the previous owner had "over-engineered" the building of the room, according to Matt, and the work was going to take longer than he originally estimated. He planned to be here from 8:00 until 11:00, but wasn't finished until 2:00! Chad stopped by around 11:00 to check in with me and inspect the room. He didn't charge me one penny more than the original bid, even though the work took almost a day longer than he planned. Now THAT is what I call customer service! I plan to have more work done in the spring and I will use Capital City Construction for that as well. I truly could not be more impressed or more satisfied with the way the job was done, the way I was treated, or the quality of the work. I'm a baby boomer (that means I'm pretty old), and when I first met Chad I wondered whether such a youngster was really the best choice, since he looks about 15. ;-) I can assure you that he is as conscientious and as professional as you could want, and his employees are top-notch. I highly recommend Capital City Construction for any members who want high-quality work and excellent customer service. You will not be disappointed - in fact, you will probably think of completing other projects you've been putting off since you'll finally have a company you trust to do them.

Chad was very helpful in evaluating the scope of the project and providing input. Mold was found on all sheetrocked walls of basement and outer concrete block. First phase of the project has been done where they removed moldy sheetrock, took a grinder to the studs and concrete block to remove mold, then applied antimicrobial agent to studs. They will come back in a couple weeks to rebuild the sheetrock, paint and restore the area to its original finished off state. I will comment on the second phase of the project at that time. So far, I am very pleased with how they have handled the project. The crew arrived at the agreed to time, closed off the area to the rest of the house, and set out to do the job as requested.

I have worked with plenty of contractors and service providers over the 20+ years I have owned my home. I have never had the COMPLETE service experience I just received. Chad and Dan were exceptional. Chad's original bid was competitive and thorough so I decided to go with them. Once the work started and the drywall was removed, the mold issue was MUCH worse than anyone could have imagined. (Because the vapor barrier behind the drywall was so strong, there was only a trace of mold coming from the electrical outlet.) Roughly a thousand carpenter ants had also taken up residence. The entire wall had to be removed, including the outside stuccoed panels. Daylight streamed through the opening. Sub-flooring, studs and structural boards had to be replaced. This was a much bigger job than was estimated, so my only request was that Capital City be fair about the cost. Dan, the technician Chad had scheduled for the job, was much more than up to the task. His work ethic was nothing short of amazing. He was conscientious, quality driven, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and kept everything NEAT, even through all the different phases of this project. It took several days to complete all this, so much longer and much more costly for Capital than the estimate. I was apprehensive on the final cost figure. Dan just completed the project this morning. I received the invoice from Chad. They had NOT charged more than the original smaller job estimate! This company is really worth your consideration for any construction work you may need. I could not recommend them higher! If integrity and honor mean much these days, you couldn't find better...

Capital City is absolutely a 5 star company. We had several bids (all Angie's List companies) on our basement office that suffered from water damage and mold infiltration. Chad's repair plan was, by far, the most through of the lot. One company actually offered to charge us $1500+ to simply remove the drywall. Chad, and his crew from Capital City, on the other hand, removed the drywall and then… the baseboards, and carpet, and padding, HEPA scrubbed the room, removed any mold, sealed the inside walls with a moisture barrier, filled any cracks, replaced the drywall, baseboards AND carpet and then matched the paint to the room, all the while being fast, friendly, and utterly professional. We even asked Chad to install a sliding patio door after the mold problem was corrected and he did it within days; even picking up and delivering the door himself. Capital City, Chad & crew, exceeded our expectations in every way.

Capital City Construction and Remediation were referred to me by my electrician (Thor Electric) and they did a great job cleaning up my basement. They ripped out all of the moldy yucky stuff, Hepa vaccuumed the space and left their air mover and fans running for two days to dry out the basement because it was very damp. Then they came back and painted the entire thing with a mold killing paint to prevent any future problems. I had had another company come out to give me a bid on the project, and Capital City's bid was four thousand dollars less than the other guys for exactly the same work! They were great and I can't wait to use them to finish out the basement and make it pretty again!
