BURTON'S RAIN GUTTER SERVICE

I called this guy 3 weeks ago and he said he'd come by to give and estimate. He never did, I called again and it took him three days to get back to me and then he said he was too busy to do anyting for me. I'm talking about a small leak in a rain gutter. He was utterly unprofessional and set me back by almost a month. Now I have to find someone new who can do it before winter hits! Terrible customer service.

The good: Burton was responsive at a time when other providers were not promptly returning calls. It was a time of ice dams all over town. Burton does not steam roofs, but shovels them and has a method for carefully removing ice so it does not damage the roof. He works with his wife. The bad: His initial quote was $695 but then agreed to $500. He and his wife were here for 1 and 3/4 hours and they completed the job. They came back to check after a day and the remaining snow and ice had melted. They did the job, but I thought their pricing was very high for as long as they were here. It amounted to $140/hour per person! SUMMARY: I would use again due to responsiveness and quality of work, but only if I could not find a more affordable option.

We called the Burtons in mid November to have our gutters cleaned. It was late in the season, but the leaves fell really late this year. They were able to accommodate us even at the end of the season by asking if they could come out on Thanksgiving day. Since we were out of town for the day, it worked out great, especially since truly cold weather came the day after. Their crew did a great job. They brought their own ladders and hoses. We only needed to make sure the water was turned on for them. When we got home, I found nice, clean gutters.

Burton Johnson responded promptly to my inquiry about the task, and stopped by within a day to give me an estimate for the job. I accepted the estimate on the spot and asked him to go ahead, on his schedule. He recommended a date a week or so out so that the trees surrounding my home would have dropped their leaves. I agreed. Today he and his wife arrived in the afternoon, and two hours later my gutters were clean and downspouts were flowing freely. The job was done with speed and efficiency, and everything was cleaned up all around the perimeter of my home. He advised me of a few rusty spots (the house has older steel gutters) but said nothing was so bad as to require replacement. I have used a cheaper service to perform the same tasks a couple of years ago, and was not at all happy with the quality and professionalism of that service; my experience with Burton was far more satisfying, and I plan to call him again the next time I require gutter cleaning or servicing.

There was some confusion over our appointment for the estimate. We were able to discuss the situation well when we did connect. Burton and his wife had good suggestions for the job. They did a thorough job and emphasized contacting them with any problems in the future.

They really did a good job. It seems expensive but I had satisfaction with their work.

Our basement flooded during a particularly bad downpour. I called Burton to ask about having our gutters cleaned. He came out promptly and gave us a bid. We arranged to have him come the next day to clean the gutters.The next day came with another hard rain and thunderstorms. Unbelievably Burton showed up with his wife and cleaned the gutters. I was astounded and grateful as he saved me from drying out the basement again.He went completely above and beyond

I got an estimate and discount because of Angie's list. They showed up when they said they would and worked in the dark with head lamps on. In spite of the dark, they cleaned up the leaves and were quite efficient.

They came and gave us a price in November but then waited until after all the leaves were down before doing the cleaning.

Very successful. They also instructed us on what we could do to prevent ice dams.

I was impressed that Burton's seemed like a Mom and Pop business. They were very professional and gave me information I can use to care for my gutters in the future. They came and did the work themselves and were efficient. They were delayed in the schedule of putting my new down spount on due to gutter cleaning around the neighborhood. I recommend this survice provider for cleaning and repairs for gutters. They were great. The only catch is that you pay for what you get and they seemed a little more expensive than others. In my opinion it was money well spent.

No problems. It was raining on the initial date and so we rescheduled for the next clear day.

A true "Mom and Pop" operation, they were perfect for my small job.

I have used them before and I would use them again. I think they are reasonable. It's a family company. They are very responsive. If I need something done fairly quickly, they are here.

Went very well. Called and scheduled an appointment and they arrived promptly. Did a through professional job. Have used this company for two or three years. Always timely, reliable, and careful.

I was out of town, and I wanted someone to come and take care of it while I was gone. They were fine with the estimate, and the price seemed fair, but I decided not to use their service. I was not in town while they came, so there wasn’t really an appointment; they just came, looked at the roof and called in with the estimate. I would consider using them in the future.

They do a wonderful job and they assured us when we next saw their work it would be clean and they were absolutely right. They were reasonable and they were very good. They did an amazing job and they knew what their were doing and they did the work. We call them and they came at night with the spotlight and did the job. I will use them in future.

Their pricing was between reasonable and high. They just did the job very well. Their was nothing I don't think they could have improved on. They were pretty quick to deal with the issue.

It is a husband and wife team. They are very reliable. If they are in the area they will come out immediately. You see their truck at all hours of the night. They are very good.

I was very pleased and would use Burton again in the future

Burton called back immediately knowing the urgency of the upcoming melt. He gives top priority to homes in the Mac/Groveland & Highland area of St. Paul coming the same day to do the worst areas and came back the next day to finish the rest. I called 2 other companies who were booked for a week out still. Overall price seemed higher and I wasn't sure if a steaming approach would be better, but, Burton's response time & quality was worth it. I think this should prevent worse issues from melting.

Everything went well. The work is always excellent when he does it himself. However, I do wish he and his crew could arrive sooner to start work when necessary.
