 + -1 moreForty-five minutes before the appointment, they called us to tell us that we lived too far and that they weren't coming out for the estimate. They could have informed us about this when we set up the appointment with them. They look like they are a great company, but unprofessional when it came to our situation.
Description of Work: They were supposed to come out and give us an estimate on installing a water heater and laundry tub.

 + -1 moreThe plumbers Chris sent out, Rich and Justin, were very professional, on time, answered all my questions, did the work efficiently, cleaned up, and - yeah, I know this sound like hype, but it's not - saved a $95 countertop we thought we'd ruined doing a little DIY! So, would we call Burkhardt Plumbing next time we need plumbing help? That's a no brainer!
Description of Work: Low water pressure in an old triplex! Five plumbing estimates that came in very high ($13,000) and very complicated (lots of walls busted out, etc)! Chris Burkhardt came in and told me what needed to be done - simple, clearcut, minimum wall damage, and a lot less than all the others. He was able to schedule the work within 10 days and sent two plumbers out who did the following: Pex water pipes to 2nd floor kitchen and bathroom / remove and replace bath tub & fixtures / connect new bathroom sink and vanity / connect new kitchen sink and cut countertop to fit / replace valve at water meter and vent on water heater.

 + -1 moreThey came within 24 hours. They gave me a few options, which was good. The cleanest way was to go through a cabinet in the kitchen, but it would have taken several days. Instead, we decided to cut a hole in the tub surround. They were able to fix the pipe but in the process of removing the old fixtures, they had to break one of the handles and cartridges that had a stripped screw. This meant a second trip which they did not charge me for. They replaced the cartridge but couldn't fix the handle, I'm still trying to find a replacement but for a tough job, this was a good result.
Description of Work: Had a cracked fitting in the wall behind the shower that was spraying water inside the wall. Because it was an older house, it was very hard to access.

 + -1 moreThe team was able to complete the work within two days of my initial call. They arrived on time and worked quickly. The route they chose for the new supply lines is a little awkward; particularly the shut-off valves for the sink, which are mounted vertically and need to be pulled away from the wall to be turned. They also left a lot of dust and debris where they'd been sawing PVC and drilling into the cement blocks. Overall, however, I am pleased with the work and very happy with the new layout for the area. I would likely have them back in the future.
Description of Work: I had replaced my old concrete utility tub with a single, plastic tub and relocated it and the washer and dryer. Burkhardt plumbing completed the plumbing to the new tub and redid the drain to accommodate the tub's new position and a separate drain for the washing machine.

Description of Work: The plumber & his son worked on the toilet. The lever/handle had fallen off & the "ball & chain" inside the tank weren't operating correctly (so the toilet wasn't flushing). They installed a new "ball" in the tank.

He showed up on time, did the work, explained what he did, and the toilets work great now. This is probably a job I could have done myself, but I chose to have it professionally done and I would certainly hire Burkhardt again.

 + -1 moreI eventually met with 3 members of the company. They were polite, on time and on task. They listened to my statement of the problem, asked appropriate questions to help further identify the problem, and took care of it. Price was reasonable. When the upstairs toilet continued to leak, I had service the day after I called. The plumber that day tried 5 different flap valves to finally find the one that solved the problem. There was no additional charge to fix this. I was very pleased with the work and the entire experience.
Description of Work: Replaced leaking utility faucets. Found and repaired the cause of leaking toilets both upstairs and downstairs, ''fixing'' work that a previous plumber had not been able to do. Upstairs toilet required a second visit but was successfully repaired.

Description of Work: Chris came out to check a leak that was beginning to come through the ceiling. He couldn't identify if the leak was from the roof in the next part of the house or the toilet. He advised that we keep an eye on it for a few days and call back if we needed him to reseal the toilet.

Description of Work: This was a Saturday afternoon plumbing emergency. A soldered plumbing joint had broken so that all the water had to be turned off. Chris Burkhardt appeared within half an hour of my call, repaired the broken joint, and also replaced a broken outdooor faucet. And all with no emergency surcharge!!!

 + -1 moreTHE PLUMBER GAVE US AN ESTIMATE AND DID THE WORK VERY SATISFACTORILY FOR THE AGREED UPON PRICE. HIS SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WAS A LITTLE MORE INNOVATIVE THAN THE OTHER PLUMBER'S. I THOUGHT $165 WAS A LITTLE HIGH FOR LESS THAN AN HOUR'S WORK, BUT HIS ESTIMATE WAS CLOSE TO THE ALTERNATIVE OFFER, AND WE DID HAVE AN AGREEMENT FOR THAT PRICE IN ADVANCE.
Description of Work: WE HAD A PLUMBING LEAK IN AN INACCESSIBLE CORNER OF OUR UTILITY ROOM. THE PLUMBER INSTALLED A NEW, MORE DIRECT LINE WHICH LED TO THE GARAGE WALL AND REMOVED THE OLDER, LEAKING LINE.
