Excellent. It was April 2008 and we'd unexpectedly found out we needed to replace our entire sanitary sewer from inside the house all the way out to the middle of the street and that required tearing out the entire front lawn, steps/railing and sidewalks. So, we definitely needed someone to re-landscape after losing the entire front lawn, we'd be starting from scratch. Eden Bluhm arrived to give the estimate and answer questions. He is very professional, knowledgeable and polite. He heard what we wanted to have done and made other suggestions that were more cost effective than what we were thinking. Originally, we were going to have the retaining walls replaced after the old ones were removed. He explained how much more expensive that would be and suggested just regrading the front lawn and a few other suggestions. We were looking at over $15,000.00 just to put the retaining walls back without any other landscaping work being included in that price. His alternative suggestions saved us almost $12,000.00, which was truly appreciated. We scheduled the work to be done. Eden Bluhm thought it would take a week to complete the work. He showed up with the work crew and oversaw the project. They were on time, very courteous and professional. The one thing different about this company, if they are working on your project, your project is the only one they work on until it is completed to your satisfaction. They do not work on another person's project while working on yours. They work was completed in 2 1/2 days rather than one week. When one side of the flowerbed on one side of the house wasn't symmetrical with the other side, Eden was out immediately with his crew to fix it to our satisfaction. We are so happy with the work. It is truly beautiful. Many people in the neighborhood stop to compliment how lovely the front lawn looks and we give out Bluhm Bros. phone number at the request of the inquiries. We are having them come back and do a bigger project in our back yard in October.

Having recently purchased my home in St. Louis Park, there were several house projects I needed to complete. Following several disappointing outcomes, I joined Angie s List. My landscaping was in desperate need of professional help. I spent time assessing different vendors from the list Angie provided and chose Blum Brothers. I cannot say enough positive things for this company. They accommodated all my requests and fulfilled my contract beyond expectations. All my shrubbery and new sod are in excellent condition. I was extremely pleased with Blum Brothers Service and would highly recommend them to anyone needing landscaping services. Thank you Angie s List for providing me with such a competent, hard working landscaping company.

They were very prompt. They were very cooperative. They did a good job all around. I would highly recommend them and use them again in the future. They were a bit pricey though.

While Eden was walking the property to determine what we wanted done, he added a few design change ideas that made the landscape really complete. He did a complete proposal of all that I wanted done, and then said I could decide if I wanted to do everything right now or do it in stages. I decided to do it all this year instead of waiting. He had said the job would take approximately 4 days. Due to schedules, both Jared and John were able to bring in their crews. The job was finished in 2 days. They were all very professional, I loved working with them all. Lucy, "the plant lady" came out after we hired Bluhm Bros. to start picking out the landscaping plants. Lucy did an excellent job, knew the plants, and understood what I was looking for also. When the landscaping was ready for planting, Lucy was right on time with the new plants and bushes. Once out here, Lucy went through the old perennials that were removed, figured out where everything should go, and even suggested way to use the daylilies I was sick of. I would hire them again without a doubt.

Fantastic. Everyone showed up just when they said they would and stayed as long as there was daylight. The crew was very professional and TIRELESS. Eden monitored the work closely - I still can't believe that they did everything in just two days.

It was great. They showed up on time. They were very professional and attentive. They were very patient with us. They were obviously experts at what they do. They were very friendly and approachable.

I would like to be able to recommend this company because the work was generally good, but I ended up feeling ripped off because of the pricing. When Eden gave me the estimate, he told me he had included a $1.00 per square foot extra charge for "weathered" Versalock material because he thought I would like that better than regular Versalock. He told me he would bring samples, and I could decide what I wanted. I went to Patio Town on my own, in order to save him the extra trip and cost of coming to my house with samples, and then called him and told him I did not want the weathered material. I asked him to deduct the extra cost. I also asked him to recalculate the discount he had applied to two walls, since I had decided to just have one done. I asked about signing a contract, and he seemed offended, saying something to the effect that they wouldn't be in business if they didn't do what they said they'd do. I told him I needed to know what the price was. When he called back with a total price, I decided not to again push signing a contract. I obviously assumed he had deducted the extra charge for "weathered" Versalock, so I simply said ok. After the job was complete, the workers asked for payment on the spot. When I carefully reviewed the paperwork later (which was the original estimate document with modifications), I saw that the extra cost had not been deducted. In fact, "weathered" was now crossed out, but the price was not changed. Eden had applied the usual Angie's List 5% coupon discount, but it was applied to the original estimate for weathered Versalock. In other words, I was charged for material that was more expensive than what was actually used on my wall. I wrote to the company and asked for a refund of the charge for weathered Versalock. It has been a month and a half and not only have I not received a refund, but they didn't even have the courtesy to respond. As far as the work itself, the workers put a lot of effort into making sure the wall was level. In addition, I appreciated the fact they took great pains to save a bush I was concerned about, consulting with me before cutting into the roots. There is a gap where the walls meet at the corner, which caused me some concern, but I'm hoping it is just cosmetic and not a structural problem. It has not rained enough since installation for me to see how the water flows over the wall, but I assume it's ok. Notwithstanding that the work was good, I cannot recommend this company. Eden's attitude was "trust me," and I found out the hard way that I should not have done so.

The project went very well. Fortunately the weather stayed dry during the two days that they worked. They also coordinated their work with the fence contractor who needed to install the vertical posts for the new fence that I will be installing after the sod gets established. They managed to get the grading finished in time for the fence work and then the the sod was laid afterward. They did their best to make sure that they understood what I wanted. John took a lot of care in making the measurements accurate. He and his crew also made sure that the trees were placed where I wanted them. One of the most helpful things was the advice that John gave me about caring for the sod and watering the trees. This was very important.

After working with Lucy on a perennial garden plan, the crew came out roughly a week later as discussed. They arrived a bit early, ready to go. They worked from 7:30 am till nearly 9:00 pm, and did a fabulous job. It was rather hot, but they stayed on task. We were very pleased with the work, as well as the professionalism of Lucy and the guys.

The crew was on time and one of the owners was there to supervise. Lucy came to make sure the plants would be placed in the right location. They did the job in one day and cleaned up the area really good.

Did not select this company to perform any further work.

They accidentally cut the electrical cord to our street lamp and the boss came out immediately to fix, it was unbelievable. I would for sure use them again.

They turned our back yard into a paradise. Our backyard is absolutely beautiful. We were very pleased with all the work that they did for us. We did find this company on your list.

As usual, the project went very well. They arrived on Monday June 23 and the project was completed on Thursday June 26. The staff and workman are always polite and quiet. The equipment is well-maintained and shiny. We have used them before and were/are very happy with the previous project. We would use them again if needed.

I contacted Bluhm Brothers by phone and scheduled an appointment almost immediately. They came to the house, looked at our yard, and we scheduled the work to be completed within two weeks. They arrived promptly and completed the job within 7 hours. We received detailed instructions on maintenance, and now (4 weeks later), the yard looks great. The only thing I would suggest is for the company to make a follow-up phone call a couple of weeks after installation to verify that everything is going okay. We had a couple of uncertain moments with the new sod. Also, one person was assigned as manager of our project. That was a good model since it gave us a more personal sense of having someone to work with, but she was out of town for a while before the project started and otherwise only available by cell phone. The phone reception wasn't very good, so it was very hard to talk about landscape design. Fortunately, we weren't very picky and pretty much trusted the company to come up with something that we would like.

Once I did track Eden down in late May/early June to discuss the dead plant issues, he yelled at ME for not giving him the job I called about in April. He claims that he would never recommend river rocks to residential jobs, yet that is what they did. All the other 20 plants they installed are growing and look amazing!
