Nice guys, reasonable pricing, but we decided to DIY.

This company is great to work with. I received a call back shortly after my first message explaining the work that needed to be done. Within days, I had a quote that gave me many options so that I could decide what work I would have completed. This was great for me because I could narrow down my "needs vs. wants". Once the work was started, they found a large tree stump and many large bricks that the previous owners never removed and covered with rocks. They removed the new findings and continued on with the work. Any question that I would ask or suggest, they made happen. The end result was fantastic. Everyone I worked with was truly great, friendly and professional. I would hire them again!

Overall, we were a little disappointed with our consultant from Bluhm Brothers Landscaping. While the price for the coupon was decent, the responsiveness by the consultant was lacking, which reflected on the professionalism. The product quality and end designs were pretty good.

They showed up bright and early this morning, got everything cleaned up so we had no problems getting out to work on time. I appreciate being able to text for updates and call directly if there are any issues. We've used Bluhm Brothers at another property for a number of years, but this is our first winter in a new house. Glad that Eden is still taking care of us!

Everything went well. My overall experience with them was excellent.

They were okay, prompt and very efficient. They were done in less than a day.

It went great. It started when I was just looking for help to fix our basement water problem due to runoff issues. Eden came out and originally recommended the fix (move landscaping rocks next the house, bring in dirt, fix the grade, sod the damaged parts). He mentioned it was a job easy enough that I could do it myself and was a little small for their full crew. I checked with another company, whose recommendation was to install a french drain (that would in my opinion eventually clog), require the removal of the trees next to our house that we wanted left alone, and whose plan mentioned a couple other things that Eden had cautioned against as being less than ideal solutions when we had originally talked. So we decided that we wanted Bluhm Brothers to do the work, and expanded the scope of the job to include all the things on our wishlist for the yard. The price was still very fair. Since we were going to sod the front yard and had been having issues maintaining the lawn, we added and irrigation system to the solution. For this Bluhm Brothers recommended Northland Irrigation, and that part of the job also ended extremely well. I've reviewed that job separately. The job execution was flawless. Communication throughout the process was excellent, the design and implementation was craftsman quality, and they really went out of their way to do a great job. I highly recommend them, and will be calling them back in the future if anything else comes up.

We had Ben Erickson do a plan. He came on the day of installation and helped with the relocation of existing plants. They crew arrived when promised and worked as quickly as possible. Beyond the fact that they came on time, did the work and left our yard clean I can't say anything else. We were happy with the results and they were very nice to work with.

The assessment process to determine the estimate was outstanding. Eden spent a lot of time with us and came up with options we would never have come up with on our own. And the options actully addressed some issues we had that no originally articulated. The estimate was delivered quickly. Once the work began we where impressed EVERY DAY with the work ethic, the team work, and the organization. When they encountered unforeseen issues , that happens on every project, they where creative in coming up with solutions and consulted with us on which way we wanted to go. The precision of the work was impressive. They had to work around our concrete driveway and stairs and there was not one chip. The retaining wall and landscaping far exceeded our expectations And our neighbors agreed.Wwe felt we got extreme value for the dollars paid. We would hire the Bluhm Bros. for another project in an instant.

Project went very well. Job started on time,completed on time in one day, extra work was completed, very professional,courteous, diligent,friendly. Neighbors were so impressed, the crew was invited over to have dinner on their deck next door.

The main area that I wanted them to do wasn't even on their plan. I called and asked about doing the area he was very responsive and he did come back out and did those areas. The service was about average. He also came out in the spring and I wished he would have come out at a different.

The landscape designer arrived on time. He took a few pictures, I showed him what I was looking for, the plans from our architect as well as plants that I liked. He was there for about 10 minutes getting information from me. Within a week I had the designs back.

Eden arrived promptly for our appointment and provided a detailed bid before he left the premises. We felt the bid amount was reasonable and scheduled a start date. John and his crew arrived right on time and worked tirelessly for 3 days to complete the scheduled work. Eden, John and his crew were truly a pleasure to work with. They were all very professional and did a wonderful job replacing our many retaining walls. We had some very challenging architecture to work with. Each wall was built with skill, precision and an unbelievable attention to detail. John was involved in every stage of the work. He and his crew made sure all agreed upon work was completed to our satisfaction. Their work exceeded our expectations. When they left, our property was in pristine condition. We would not hesitate to recommend their services to others. If we are ever in need of landscaping services in the future, they'll be the only company we'll call.

Last fall I purchased the Big Deal. The landscape architect, Ben, came out and I explained what I wanted, which was expand the existing bed, which is about 35 feet long, moving it away from the house. I pointed out that it was very shady (north side and two big boulevard trees) and asked him to 1-use a combination of plants, shrubs, and one tree that would thrive in that location, 2-Not to over plant, I didn't want to have to rip plants out in a year or two, 3-use plants that have a variety of foliage color. When I received the plan, it was not at all what I asked for--sun plants, 6 shrubs, and 40+ plants. I called him and he redid it, using different plants, but still way too many. I did send a deposit in January, figuring I'd talk to Bluhm Brothers before they came out. I never heard from them, so I called them at the beginning of June. They had no records at all of this job (though they did cash my check). The lady I spoke with explained that Ben was no longer working with them and she sent Lucy out to take a look at everything. Both the lady I spoke with and Lucy were great. Lucy listened to everything I had to say, agreed that everything on the original plan was over planted, came up with a couple of good ideas I hadn't thought about, and redid the plan with a nice variety of plants (3 shrubs, 20 plants and a tree) appropriate to the area and she refunded the money I paid for the Big Deal. The crew came out and within a couple of hours, everything was completed. This didn't start out well, but in the end things worked out fine. I marked them down in responsiveness only because no one contacted me even though they cashed my check.

This match was just not meant to be. It started with a response to the 'big deal' where I would receive a landscape design for $150. I scheduled some time with the architect who came out and chatted for an hour and said I'd have something within a week or two. I set aside $2000 to spend this summer on some work we discussed and then sat back awaiting the design. 6 weeks later I called and spoke with an owner who said the original architect wasn't working out and that someone else would come out. The owner came out a week later and informed me that the computer sketch that was advertised wasn't within their capabilities so I'd be getting a drawing in a few days. 4 or so weeks later I called to ask when I'd receive the drawing and received an apology. I politely asked for a refund and encouraged them to continue with the drawing if they'd like but the experience was falling well short of expectations. 4 or so weeks later I called and left a vm indicating that I'd not received the refund. A week later I received the check with the letter that essentially said they were doing me a favor by issuing a refund bc the real issue was b/w me and Angie's List since that's who I paid. Am hoping I just caught them at a bad time but I can't say enough about how poor this experience was.

Terrible. I bought the $99 promotion to redesign our backyard offered by Angie list around this time last years. The reason I bought was that I heard good thing about Bluhm Brothers landscaping. I called to schedule appoitment and was told that they are closed for the season. Few days/weeks had passed and one of the designer that worked only with Angie list customers (I was told) contact me. After several hit/miss phone call, we finally chedule a meeting on a Saturday early afternoon in October 2011 and he cancelled the appoitment at the last minute. The followings week, snow was on the ground so I just put it off till springs. I left voice mail to the designer in the springs, after several weeks and multiple calls finally got a hold of the designer. He told me that he left the company and I need to contact one of the Bluhm brothers. I follow up with emails, so finally another designer called and scheduled a meeting -- now it's June/July and we told that they are very busy and will get back to us in August with design. (I don't remember the exact date when the 2nd designer showed up, so the date above is approximate). So far, one meeting, a design is pay for and got nothing -- the whole process take almost a year with nothing.

Lucy (the designer)came to our house and we discussed what work we would like to have performed. We discussed our likes/dislikes when it came to plants. Lucy sent us a proposal a week or so later. We loved what she selected. She listened to what we had mentioned in our discussions. The crews arrived a few weeks later. Within a few hours, our over-grown bushes and trees were out and the new plantings were in and the beds were mulched. The crew was extremely professional, neat, and clean. They fully cleaned up after the job was complete. We are so happy with the work that was done.

Great bang for the buck! We are extremely happy with the job Bluhm Brothers did for us: ...Looks fantastic, really a good job and all completed in 1 workday....These guys are professional...Initial contact was with Eton, he spent the time to explain how the water drains and moves across the yard, what was needed to provide best drainage and how his team would accomplish these tasks. The team worked like a well oiled machine and left the site looking beautifully manicured.

Hard working crews got the job done on time and as expected; very happy. Glad to see such a nice small business - really appreciate your work guys!

Everything when perfect! They came a day early since they finished another job early, & everyone was very friendly and answered all of my questions & listened to any suggestions I made. They completely cleaned up after themselves & one the Bluhm brothers was onsite and gave my the care instructions for the new plants & sod.

It was a very smooth process and everything was completed on time and as promised. I am very pleased with the results of my project.

It was fantastic. They were prompt, courteous and professional throughout the whole process. On the day of service, they showed up at 6:30 AM and worked until about 3:30, stopping only for a brief lunch. It was a crew of about 9 men who worked extremely hard during their time here. They were very professional, organized, efficient and thoughtful. They also cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I have a lot of respect for them and their diligent work. Would hire again. A+++++++. Very highly recommended.

I had several contractors come out and bid the job, but I went with Bluhm Brothers because Eden did a great job of painting a picture of what my yard could look like after the work was done. The crew came out on the day they were scheduled and made short work of the job. They paid attention to detail and I haven't found anything I had to clean up after they finished. My yard looks great now and I would use them again in a second.

We contacted Bluhm Bros. Landscaping via email and were contacted by phone within two days. We gave a very general explanation of what we were looking for. Eden made a trip out to our house about two weeks later. He spent 2, maybe 3 hours looking over everything, assessing our situation. Then, he drew up a plan on the spot and continued to discuss options with us. A few days after that, we received a quote for the plans he drew up. For budgetary reasons, we only went ahead with one of the three "phases" that Eden drew up -- but we wanted to do the whole thing! We were scheduled, and about a month later, the crew arrived. The crew seemed large to me (8 or so guys) and they were very respectful of the neighbors. Jared explained what they were tackling and gave me a time table for all of it. They had the entire thing finished in less than two days...and it looked fantastic. This was the first time we'd ever worked with a landscaper (this is our first home), so we were a little nervous. Eden, Jared, and the gang made it so easy. It was a little more than we wanted to spend, but I feel like we got our money's worth. All of our future landscaping dollars will be going to Bluhm Brothers Landscaping. We can't wait to work with them again!
