This was a large project that took place in several stages over about six months. The quality of all work was excellent. Bernie was very accommodating for in process design changes. For instance, the workroom renovation was not even included in the original plans and the hallway layout and closet placement were changed after seeing how the space created by the new bathroom looked. Designing the new basement bathroom took a lot of work to determine feasibility of meeting all codes and for feasibility of new sewer installation. I was very happy with the results in terms of quality of the work and the design elements all working out as I had envisioned. I used this contractor for a previous kitchen renovation and a complete gutting and renovation of my second level and plan to use for additional future projects. So, yes, I definitely recommend this contractor.

The sales team took time to show me the many options to select from and explained the pros and cons of each. I received bids from 3 other companies and felt the most comfortable with Beissel and the price was very competitive. The craftsmanship was excellent!

Excellent! From beginning to end the staff was remarkable to work with. Brad Shoop was professional and timely with his estimate and explaining the differences in windows to me. As a first-time replacement window purchaser, I appreciated his time and patience explaining this to me. He returned my phone calls promptly and kept me informed during the entire process - from ordering to installation. The 3 gentlemen who installed my windows were amazing! I was expecting to return home to a moderate mess, (dust, dirt, debris, etc) but was thrilled to come home and find the cleanliness of my home to be just as I had left it! The icing on the cake of course is the new windows! They look amazing and I couldn't be happier with them.

It was good; I was very pleased with them. They did a really nice job on their work, they were dependable and they did a nice job cleaning up after themselves.I kind of chose them partially because they were on Angie's List and had a good rating at the time.

Josh was one of the most pleasant people we have ever worked with and he did it all by himself, working 10-12 hours a day. I understand he was subbing for Rick's Roofing and Siding at the time. He is a keeper employee and a hard worker. The siding on the gables that was wrapped around old redwood was done perfectly. The chimney looks great and I now know our home is well insulated. The older box vents were removed and a long ridge vent was put in its place. This is a terrific guy, Josh, and I would use him in a second again.

From start to finish, this was an excellent experience. We made 3 appointments for bids. We met with one company who was very persuasive and seemed to have all we needed. Beissel was our second company. Lynda came and we were so impressed. No pressure or hype, just good information and answers to every question we had. She even explained that when the inspector came to check their work, he would also be checking to see that our home was up to code for fire and CO1 alarms. We cancelled our third appointment and contacted our first to tell them we had decided to go with you. The two men that came were excellent. Their work was very well done. They cleaned up everything before they left. They even helped us catch our runaway dog after she made the "great escape" when I wasn't watching. That was above and beyond the call of duty! I didn't get their names but one of them checked our deck and is giving us a bid to replace it. Thanks for being a company that believes in excellence and works accordingly.

The Beissel organization is top notch. From estimate to completion the quality and level of performance was excellent.

Could not be happier with entire project. The original 1956 cedar shake siding had to be replaced, but after seeing the vinyl siding that a neighbor installed I decided to go with the Hardy Plank product. While it is significantly more expensive the quality and appearance made it an easy choice. The Beissel crew was very pleasant and all were expert in installing Hardy Plank. There was never a mess or materials left lying around. Every seam was exactly cut and caulked. The house looks great. They also put windows in a three-season porch. Two sides have sliding windows with non-opening ones on the bottom and the third side has a sliding door to the patio. The quality of the windows and the excellent workmanship has made the porch usable all winter. It looks great.

First let me say that the product recommended, Monray storm windows are quality products made for high standards. Brad, the sales reprepresentative did a great job sharing the pertinent information and setting in place the process for securing the windows and the internal team for attachment. The team on site was professional and efficient with the related work. Two months later...the house is much warmer than last year and no doubt the energy costs will also go down as we move through the winter.

The project manager was helpful in providing all sorts of information and options we had not considered. Once the work started, it was timely and seems to be of high quality. I have no complaints, though the roof and siding have not had to withstand the wear and tear of time. The subcontractors were competent and well supervised. I plan to use this company in the future.

Initially, they were a little slow in getting an estimate back to us however the quality of work was excellent. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Salesman was knowledgeable and friendly. The price was really reasonable. Order was placed, work was scheduled about 4-5 weeks out. When the crew arrived, they were very professional, friendly and fast. Eleven window inserts done and the front door replaced in a day. They were very clean, putting down sheets over the carpeting every place they went, vacuuming up all dust and debris created, all the old windows taken away. When they pulled out, you would never have known that all that work had just happened. I would definitely recommend them.

The process to find a contractor to do all the work above is tedious. With doors and windows, there are so many contractors and brands that it quickly seemed overwhelming. Brad from Beissel came to our house and walked us through all the options they provide (which is a lot) and helped us narrow our choices down to three types of windows in different price ranges. We went to their showroom and after playing with the windows and doors (this is really important when selecting windows and doors, because there are small, but noticeable differences), we selected the more expensive Sunrise Windows and Target Door. After spending a Fall, Winter and Spring with them, I love these items. I never felt a draft all winter and now that it's warmer, I also don't feel heat coming through the windows. The only issue we had was some condensation on the windows on really cold days and my guess is that the humidity is too high in my house and my blinds are too insulating. We had this problem with the old windows too, but I was hoping that would go away. I love the fact that I can clean the windows from the inside and we have half screens, so I can get a clear view in the top window or easily remove the screens in the winter. We played with both full and half screens in the showroom before deciding on that option. Again, testing out the windows is really important. We also looked and Andersen Windows--who also have a showroom--but really liked the Sunrise Windows better for the little details and the greater view they provide. If you want a wood look on the inside, the Andersen Windows would probably be a better choice, but we had off-white vinyl before and like the look better with our white interior trim. Also, the Sunrise Windows were a couple thousand dollars cheaper. Finally, Andersen only does windows and really expensive doors; whereas Beissel was able to do the gutters and trim as well. In the end, it was a clear choice. Brad was great to work with and helped us with color choices for all the work. I appreciated that he has been in the business a long time, was previously an installer, and provided his opinion based upon his experience. I honestly felt he was trying to do what was best for us rather than trying to upsell us on everything. The guys that came and did the work were very fast and professional. The windows, doors, and trim were done in two days, and most of that time was fixing the rotting wood behind all 17 windows, which we appreciated (but did add $1,000 to the final cost). Brad said they could do all the work without removing the interior trim, but they did have to remove some pieces. With 80 years of paint on them, they chipped or cracked a few pieces when removing them, but for the most part, they still look intact and we'll just need to fill in some gaps and repaint at some point this summer. Andersen didn't offer a minimal touch solution, so I assume their installation would have wreaked more havoc on our trim. The gutters and gutter screens look great and do a great job of removing water away from my house. Thus far, I've had no water in my basement. Beware of the gutter covers though. For our house, they cost $300, but what we got was different than what I saw in the showroom. The ones I saw in the showroom were durable looking, metal screens--which I assumed I would be getting--but the ones they put on our gutters are a flexible, coated metal, probably aluminum. They look like something I could have bought at Home Depot for $50 and installed myself, so I was a little miffed at how much they cost, but in the overall scheme of things, it was a minor cost, and I was glad to have someone do it. To be fair, I have bought metal screens from Home Depot in the past and these look better than those. Also, Brad never showed my the covers we were buying, so I made an assumption on what I was getting. Brad highly recommended them and they do seem to be effective and you can barely see them from the ground level, which is nice. Just ask for a sample so you know what you will be getting. If you can get these covers, you might be able to install them yourself. Overall, I would highly recommend both Beissel and Brad. I felt they provided great service and great products and would do business with them again.

The service was awesome. They really paid attention to detail and made sure that the windows were installed properly. I would use them again.

It was partly covered by insurance coverage because of hail damage. We have used them in our house one time and were recommended to him by our neighborhood. They did a good job for the price. I would use them again in the future.

There was a bid and they came and did the work. They did less because they found some insulation were already in the walls. They were great. They were very professional. They were fairly prompt in completing the work because the inspector came out afterwards and found out that they missed some spots so they came back and it took a while because of the cold. I would not penalize them for that or fault them for the weather and some things. What stood out was that they came back, finished the job, and did not charge me anymore. They stuck to their bid even though they had to spend more time. I though the price was pretty good. I did get some other bids and they were pretty close.

All went well. Jeff Beissel was our contact and could not have been better. This review was from 2006 but as a new member of Angies List this is the first time I have been asked for a review for them. I had previous experience with Jeff's father 25 years ago and the service and products were as good then. If Jeff and his brother are still doing company business I would not hesitate to use them or recommend them. i

Beisell was much less expensive than Andersen and great to deal with... highly professional, great installation and high quality products.

Beissel is top notch with their customer service! I had a problem with one of windows that needed to be vented for a dryer, and I was having trouble finding a way to resolve it. They stepped up and modified my window as well as my inside double-hung window. They exceeded all of my expectations. The salesperson and installers were professional and knowledgeable. Everyone was excellent to work with!

Very professional. Did an excellent job,couldn't have been better in all aspects of the operation. They were on time, worked without stopping except for a brief lunch. They cleaned up every day and left nothing behind.
