I was happy with the overall result when the job was completed, though completion was extended by about two months due to mistakes made by the manufacturer of the custom garage service door and delays in delivery of all of the custom molded trim work parts for the front house door. In two instances, problems with the parts supplied weren't discovered until workers were on site. I think that Beissel could do a better job checking parts before sending a crew out to install. Installation of the front door was delayed since not all of the replacement exterior molding was received. The need to have the molding parts as part of the full frame replacement for the front house door wasn't realized until a crew was a site. A job could have been done with project planning. The garage service door required three attempts before the door could be installed to swing as specified on the contractor, though this was due to repeated errors by the door manufacturer. I was happy that I chose a company with a great record of standing behind its work and customer satisfaction. While I was willing to overlook the multiple delays given confidence that Beissel would follow through and complete the job satisfactorily, it did take much longer than desirable to complete the job. A problem that I wasn't happy about was that it took many phone calls to get Beissel to resolve a problem with being able to lower the roll down screen for the Pella storm door for the back house door. I think that for a good company only one phone call should be required to inform them of the problem and that they would take it from there. They did eventually resolve this problem after finally sending someone with the competence to evaluate the problem and order the replacement part. I would not recommend Pella storm doors in general since their hardware and frame design limit opening of wider doors to at least a full 90 degrees, whereas my old storm doors could be opened to more than 90 degrees. My 35 inch wide front Pella storm door cannot be opened a full 90 degrees, perhaps only about 85 degrees. I have since seen other storm designs that I think are better than Pella in other design respects as well. I asked Beissel for follow up with Pella on a rework to fix this problem but there has been do response after almost two months. While I was happy with the final job with the minor exceptions noted above and gave Beissel high ratings in all categories, I do think that there are areas where they could make improvements.

People on Angie's List seemed satisfied with them and when I dealt with them coming out and in the show room I found them to be very helpful. I was very pleased with them. They didn't put a lot of pressure on me, they were just upfront and didn't tell you you had so many days to make up your mind. There were no hidden surprises and they cleaned up well after wards. Over the phone they told me for the down spouts there was a color that matched. Then the guys came out with the spouts that had already been ordered, and they decided they could find a color that looked better so instead of just installing it they took it back and found something that would look better. So they didn't just do the job, they wanted it done right and well. They took pride in their work.

We had a really good experience with Beissel. Lynda (sales) was really helpful, explaining various costs and options. The contractors were willing to accommodate our particular needs (adjusting the trim to match the profile of the older windows), and they did a good job re-using the old siding material. They even installed some better flashing that the roofers had left, free of charge--nice touch. The only hiccup was that the trim was pre-painted on the wrong side; Lynda was willing to offer us a credit and supply us with free paint for the trouble of us doing it ourselves later. The discount they offered for paying up front is helpful, too. We would hire them again (in fact, we already have)!

EXCELLENT! The crew did a fantastic job in a cold November day, with some clutter in their way underneath the outside of a couple windows!!! There were three pieces of wood in the casings that had minor shredding (probably due to premature removal of wood from the saw), but otherwise, the wood was excellent quality, as was the construction and the windows. The crew did a great job of laying down drop-cloths to protect the carpet, and communicated well with use while they were here.

Beissel was contracted to blow insulation in the exterior walls of my home. While I was working on the restoration of my home, I learned the walls already had insulation. This was unbeknownest to me or Beissel when a quote was provided. Al S from Beissel came over and took a look at my walls. He confirmed that his work was not needed. He was kind enough to void my contract, return my deposit and retained a minimal service fee. I appreciated his professionalism and applaude Beissel for not trying to take advantage of the situation.

It was sour before they performed any service. Never heard back after contacting them 2 times to give them business. Puzzling.

NOT IMPRESSED. I spent no money, but in terms of time lost? At least 4 hours.

No major problems with the purchase and installation of the window. After the window was installed I noticed that the NFRC sticker on the window stated that the U-Factor was 0.44 and the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient was 0.54. I may have misunderstood the salesperson but I thought that these values were going to be equal to or less than 0.30 so it would qualify for the Energy Tax Credit. In the last 2 weeks I have left 3 polite messages inquiring about this issue and have yet to receive a return telephone call. I'm having 12 more windows installed and they will not be getting my business.

Was very impressed with how helpful, professional, and knowledgeable the salesmen, Mike, was. They also had a showroom which was very helpful. Brad answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable. Would certainly consider hiring this company in the future.

Scheduling went smoothly and the crew arrived promptly on the scheduled date. The crew checked to make sure that all windows were the right size before beginning tear out of the old. All windows were made to the right size. They used tarps to protect my carpets and were very respectful of my home. They worked steadily throughout the day and finished the project in one day. There was some shrinkage of the exterior caulking afterwards and some seams above windows that were not caulked completely. They returned within a reasonable time after I reported these problems and recaulked as needed. Overall, I was happy with both the windows and the installation. Major reasons for choosing Beissel were their 60 years in business, reputation for standing behind their work, their warranties on labor and materials and their BBB and Angie's list ratings. They were also very cost competitive.

Great experience - good communication from beginning to end.

Tear off and clean up went well. Roof looks nice. Most importantly, there was a leak problem by the chimney noticed after a hard rain. Problem was promptly investigated and addressed. Siding on chimney had to be removed and shingles around area needed to be removed and water, ice barrier set down. We have had hard rains since then and no leaking. There was no extra cost to me. I highly recommend this company because they stand by their work and will respond if there is a problem.

We decided to update our father's 1950's rambler with new decorative shakes and exterior doors. Josh brought brochures and sample and assisted us in making our selection. Installation was excellent and the staff was very professional. We have used Beissel in the past and we highly recommend them.

There were a few hiccups along the way, but they did work and I was happy with it.

We just decided that we weren?t in the market for the money it was running. They did a really nice job talking to us and were very helpful. I would definitely recommend them to others. We were looking at different size projects and the price they gave us ranged between $1,000 and $8,000 depending on what we opted to do. They were nice because they have a showroom with just a ton of options to look at and lots of different vendors. The came out to our home as well and did measurements and gave us ideas too.

I am very satisfied with the outcome. I was not exactly sure what to do regarding new windows vs. replacement windows vs. storm windows and we had a lot of other work to be budgeted for. I worked with Lynda Bartlett who was very patient with all my questions and my indecision going back and forth. She went thru every possible scenario with me regarding pros, cons, costs of all options. She was very knowledgeable about all the products, quality, value, etc... She provided valuable information to help me make my decision. She never once prodded me or pushed me one way or the other. It was very clear she was helping me #1 to get what I wanted. She even was very helpful in selecting colors and design of our project. Once again, all suggestions were provided in a very helpful way and she always listened to what we wanted first before offering any suggestions. Customer service was beyond excellent. The only hiccup and apparently no fault of Beissel, was that our door took a while to arrive and when it did, it was the wrong size. We needed to wait again for the manufacture and it arrived again with some damage. This damage was noted right a away by Lynda, who sent it back to be fixed ( it was not delivered to me in this state). So it took a little longer for the door to eventually be installed but it works and looks great. I had no problem waiting for it as the communication was excellent throughout and I am very satisfied with the final product.

They did not put in the kind of block mortar we agreed to and left a huge mess. The windows did not pass inspection by the city. The supervisors came back to clean up the mess (and only did a fair job), and did not offer any compensation for the poor work.

It went well. They do good work. They provided a prompt estimate, did a good job, and cleaned up well. The only part of the project that wasn't an A was that it took several weeks from the time I gave Beissel the go ahead to when they came back and did the job. Was told that after the estimate was accepted someone else had to come back and measure and then the glass had to be ordered. I called once just to be sure they had not forgotten about the project. They hadn't but I would have appreciated an update during the three weeks of waiting.

They were prompt and professional. We received the estimate quickly, but ended-up choosing another company.

Wonderful - we appreciated their time and honesty in letting us know what needed to be done - in this case, nothing - a dishonest contractor would have told us we needed to do all sorts of expensive repairs. The next time we need anything done - roofing, siding, windows, etc. we will certainly give them a call.

It was fabulous. They were very fast, efficient and very neat. They did lead safe work. I would recommend them to others and I have already done so.

It went well. There was a little problem, but they came back and fixed it. They sent us a letter in the mail for the documentation for a tax credit without us asking for it. That was a nice.

Brad (the salesman) spent about an hour with me and wrote up a rough estimate while still at my house. I ended up choosing another company, but would still consider Beissel for future work.

The work was excellent. They worked with us on overall look/color. They made adjustments to schedules due to work being done by other contractors. They were very responsive. Very positive experience.
