+ -1 moreShowed up within hours of contacting with a truck and chipper. Completed the work same day. Very attentive. Did a great job clearing things out. Even took away (at no charge) an old patio table we had been planning to chop up and throw away. Price was ok, but since they were there so quickly and it was SCORCHING HOT we didn't barter on the cost, as we thought they deserved every penny and then some in the heat and humidity that day.
Description of Work: Had several small trees and brush cleared from around garage and fence. Trimmed several larger trees.

+ -1 moreThe branches from the dead trees were cut down over Labor Day weekend and hauled away. A couple of weeks later two other trees that needed to be trimmed were done and all the branches chipped and hauled away. A couple of weeks ago, the rest of the dead trees (the trunks) were cut down and hauled away and the stumps were ground.
Description of Work: Cut down two dead birch trees, stumps ground, hauled away branches and trunks of tree, trimmed two other trees.

+ -1 moreWE ENJOYED WORKING WITH RICHARD. HE HAD A GOOD PERSONALITY AND WAS UNDAUNTED BY THE TASK BEFORE HIM. UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES KEPT HIM FROM BEING PROMPT AND PUNCTUAL (HIS CHIPPER BROKE), BUT HE FINALLY APPEARED, SAYING, 'AI DIDN'T WANT TO LET YOU PEOPLE DOWN.'' HE GOT HIS CHIPPER UP AND RUNNING AND HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. OTHER REPORTS GAVE HIM A B FOR PROFESSIONALISM, BUT I WOULD SAY THAT RICHARD IS INFORMAL RATHER THAN UNPROFESSIONAL. HE DIDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT HAULING HEAVY BRANCHES UP OUR EXTREMELY STEEP HILL. WE RECOMMENDED HIM TO TWO OF OUR NEIGHBORS AND THEY HIRED HIM ON THE SPOT. HE MAY NOT COME EXACTLY ON TIME, BUT I WOULDN'T LET THAT STOP ME FROM HIRING HIM. AND HE WORKED ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY--NO PROBLEM.
Description of Work: RICHARD AND HIS ASSISTANT TRIMMED NUMEROUS STORM DAMAGED BRANCHES. THREE OF THESE WERE EXTREMELY HIGH AND REQUIRED AGILITY AND SKILL TO REMOVE. TWO WERE AT LEAST 40-50 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AND RESTED ON OUR ROOF. ALL BRANCHES HAD TO BE REMOVED IN PIECES AND LOWERED CAREFULLY TO THE GROUND SO AS NOT TO DAMAGE THE HOUSE. HE CUT DOWN A SMALL ELM TREE AND REMOVED A VARIETY OF OTHER SMALL TREES AND BRANCHES. HE CHIPPED ALL OF THIS AS WELL AS A LARGE PILE OF BRUSH THAT WE HAD PUT OUT FOR THE CITY TO COLLECT BUT WHICH HAD NOT DONE SO. HE LEFT THE AREA CLEAN. HIS ORIGINAL ESTIMATE WAS $875, BUT WE GAVE HIM $1,000 BECAUSE WE THOUGHT HE DESERVED IT. SOMEONE ELSE HAD PREVIOUSLY ESTIMATED $2,000 TO REMOVE JUST THE TWO LIMBS ON OUR ROOF BECAUSE IT IS SO HIGH.

+ -1 moreHE WAS ON TIME. AT THE END OF THE 2-HOUR TIME FRAME HE SAID HE WOULD ARRIVE IN. HE CAME THE SAME DAY THAT I CALLED HIM. I HELPED HAUL THE BRANCHES. I NEEDED THE JOB DONE RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE I WAS LEAVING TOWN SO I MAY HAVE PAID MORE THAN NECESSARY. I DIDN'T GET ANY OTHER ESTIMATE. HE LEFT THE AREA VERY CLEAN. HE IS A LITTLE CHATTIER THAN I AM PERSONALLY COMFORTABLE WITH, BUT HE IS VERY NICE.
Description of Work: REMOVED AND CHIPPED THE BRANCHES FROM TWO TREES OF MINE THAT HAD BEEN BLOWN DOWN. THEY WERE BOTH HEALTHY TREES, NEITHER MORE THAN 20 YEARS OLD. ONE WAS IN THE BACKYARD WHICH WAS FENCED.

+ -1 moreCAME OUT SAME DAY I CALLED. DID A NICE JOB CLEANING UP AND TOOK ALL THE WOOD I ASKED. COULD'VE BEEN A LITTLE MORE PROFESSIONAL, BUT THEY DID THE JOB. PRICE WAS $95 FOR A 'TRUCKLOAD WITH EXTENDED SIDES BEFORE CHIPPING'. TWO OTHER PLACES I CALLED WERE $100 FOR THE SAME UNIT OF MEASURE.
Description of Work: HAULED AWAY A LARGE PILE OF BRUSH FROM MY FRONT YARD AND ABOUT 10 3-FOOT LOGS.
