Description of Work: Last year Artistic Fence installed a custom fence I was delighted with. At that time I noticed a board had a big knot in it and was in a position that would sustain alot of stress. I phoned the company and a builder came out and looked at it and said he thought it would withstand the stress and would not break but that he would replace it if I wanted. I told him if he was confident it wouldn't break, I'd keep the existing board and save resources and time for them. This summer, the board broke and the latch for the fence gate pulled out into my hand! I emailed the company and was told they would respond as soon as they could with a repair under warranty. I heard nothing for a week so contacted them again, stating that I needed this gate to work not only for myself but to keep the dog and daycare children in the yard. The fence is required for my daycare license. Still I got no response. After a couple of phone calls and more emails to them over a period of a couple of weeks, I told them that I had taken time to write a very flattering and well deserved review for them last summer on Angie's list and that I would if necessary, take the time to write another review telling of my bad experiences with them this summer if I did not hear from them within 24 hours. I got a response and someone came out within a week to repair the gate while I was not home. They replaced the broken board and fortified the gate latch, however, at knee height and in at the opening of the gate, where a child could get hurt, they left a nail protruding from the gate post by 2 inches. Unsightly and dangerous! And a small spike from the sharp end of a heavy staple used to secure the replacement board also protruded. I did not notice this until I grabbed it (it's right where one would grab to push the gate open or pull it closed) and got a very minor but annoying injury. The protruding nail and sharp protruding staple end, both in the high walking traffic area and right where people go in and out of the gate, seemed really weird to me. I sensed passive aggression:( So now I'm confused about this company and don't know if I'd use them again. I certainly would not hire them without talking with them about this summer's bad experiences first. I think I'd only hire them if I wanted something really custom that no one else would do (which was the case last summer). I'm hoping it was just the heat that got to them and that they don't behave in hostile ways toward customers who need to fall back on the warranty. This experience points up the value of Angie's List. Had I not written a positive review last year and been able to threaten to write an update this summer, this company may never have upheld their warranty. In that case I would have contact the BBB.

Contant communication, flexible scheduling, professional workmanship from initial consult to final clean up. Wonderful results, couldn't be happier with our new maintainance free fence. We would recommend Artistic Fence to anyone. You get what you pay for, and they came through with flying colors

+ -1 moreJOE HAD INITIALLY SWITCHED THE LOCATION OF THE TWO STYLES, WHICH WAS A SURPRISE TO ME TO FIND, BUT WE WORKED OUT A SOLUTION THAT WAS SATISFACTORY WITHOUT HAVING TO DO EVERYTHING OVER AGAIN. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE WORKPLAN HAD BEEN MORE SPECIFIC ABOUT THE STYLES. I REALLY LIKE THE WAY IT TURNED OUT, THE SUGGESTIONS JOE MADE WERE EXCELLENT, AND THE WORK IS VERY GOOD QUALITY. MY NEARBY NEIGHBORS HAD COMPLIMENTS ABOUT IT RIGHT AWAY.

+ -1 moreWHAT A DREAM THESE GUYS ARE TO WORK WITH. WOW! I HAD MARK COME OUT AND GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE FOR REINSTALLING PART A FENCE THAT WAS TAKEN DOWN DURING CONSTRUCTION. BOTH GATES OF MY FENCE WERE DRAGGING ON THE GROUND BEFORE THE FENCE WAS TAKEN DOWN. I HAD SOME OTHER REPAIR NEEDS AS WELL. HE UNDERSTOOD RIGHT AWAY WHAT I WANTED. AND THAT I WANTED THE FENCE SECTIONS HUNG JUST AS THEY WERE, I DIDN'T WANT THEM CHOPPED INTO SMALLER SECTIONS OR ANYTHING. WHEN I CALLED TO SCHEDULE THEM (AFTER A BIG RAINSTORM), I WAS TOLD THERE MIGHT BE A LONG WAIT. MARY TOLD ME THAT PLACES LIKE DAY CARE CENTERS WOULD HAVE HIGHER PRIORITY. I COMPLETELY UNDERSTOOD. I TOLD THEM I HOPED TO GET MY FENCE BACK UP BY WINTER. I MAILED MY DOWN PAYMENT CHECK ON A MONDAY AND BY THAT FRIDAY THEY WERE AT MY HOUSE INSTALLING MY FENCE. AND I WAS A LOW PRIORITY! I WAS SO IMPRESSED! THEY FIXED BOTH GATES THAT DRAGGED ON THE GROUND AND THE OTHER REPAIR ISSUES.

+ -1 moreARTISTIC FENCE SUBMITTED THE LOWEST OF FOUR BIDS FOR THIS PROJECT. THEIR BID WAS ALMOST HALF THE HIGH BID. THE JOB WAS COMPLICATED BY TREES GROWING ON THE FENCE LINE. THEY DESIGNED AND BUILT THE FENCE AROUND A LARGER TREE AND LEFT ONCE SECTION UNBUILT UNTIL I COULD GET A TREE REMOVED. THEN RETURNED PROMPTLY A WEEK LATER AND COMPLETED THE JOB.
Description of Work: ARTISTIC FENCE REMOVED 105 FT OF OLD FENCE (WIRE AND WOOD) AND INSTALLED 105 FT OF CEDAR DOG-EARED PICKET FENCING FOUR FT HIGH.
