Do not buy from Appliance Smart if you value your time. OR save at least $50 by reading this if you still want to buy from them. This review is for the Champlin Appliance Smart store, but based on what was told to me as corporate policy, is valid for all locations. Appliance smart scheduled a 7:30-11:30 delivery window for a washer/dryer, which they missed. At 11:30 I called them and they had no way of contacting their driver. They then promised me a delivery window of 1-3:00 and that I would be at the beginning of that window. They couldn't deliver right away because the appliances were never on the truck in the first place (so why have a delivery window starting at 7:30 if they never could have met that window?). The delivery then missed the second window and did not arrive until after 3:00. Appliance Smart made $192 of net profit on me based off of their margin from the manufacturer (inside source) and refused to offer more than $30 refund which was their total delivery cost despite talking to a manager. I took the $30 and am now teaching you how to save from them instead. If you do still decide to buy from Appliance Smart know these things: 1.) They match delivery and disposal fees from all other retailers. Lowe's is $15 per appliance disposal and free delivery. You will save ~$50 in this. 2.) Make sure you call their SALES dept at the beginning of the window to see where you are at on their route. I was unable to reach their delivery dept. They contract their delivery out, so they will tell you that they have no way of reaching their drivers, but they can. 3.) If their delivery is delayed vs your window, the sales department is authorized to refund the entire cost of delivery without much escalation. Generally, the company has no accountability to the results of their contract delivery company (at T&H delivery). They are rude, uncompromising, and unwilling to admit fault. You might as well buy from a big box store.

I was happy with this company in every way until they ran my credit card through the machine and had my money in their pockets - I've been very disappointed with everything that's happened since then. First the few good things I have to say about this experience... my salesman, Larry, seemed to be knowledgeable about the products and made a good recommendation for my family's needs. I do have the washer and dryer installed in my home and have been very happy with the products themselves. Customer service however has been awful. Because I have a gas dryer, it was recommended (I think wisely) that I not do the removal of the old machine myself, and hire someone to install the new machine. Appliance Smart's delivery team does not remove or install gas appliances which is fine. I hired the guy they recommended for an additional $135 which again is fine. The problems started here though - the installation guy was unable to come out to disconnect the old dryer before the delivery guys brought the new dryer. Both the sales guy, and the people on the delivery team at ApplianceSmart assured me this wouldn't be a problem, happens all the time - they just deliver the new dryer and then I call them back after the install guy has been there and then ApplianceSmart comes back to get the old dryer - all part of the $75.00 I already paid for delivery/haul-away. Fine, this sounded good enough (though next time, I plan to buy from where that can handle both delivery and installation if possible!) The delivery guys brought the new dryer and told me to call, they'd be back to pick up the other one. The install guy came and uninstalled the old dryer and even helped me carry it up the steps so it's really easy for the pickup team to get it from my garage. Then I called the pickup team thinking this would all be really easy. They didn't answer and I left a voicemail - this was July 2nd. I waited for about a week with no response. After a week, I tried again on July 9th - this time I did get to speak to an operater, who assured me someone could help but it wasn't her - she transferred me to the same voicemail box where I left another voicemail. No response. July 11th I called my salesguy, Larry, and asked him to help. He said sure, they could do this but I would have to coordinate with delivery and he transferred me again to the same voicemail where I left a 3rd message. Again, no response. I tried again on July 18th, left another voicemail, and got no response. I then went on vacation for 10 days and tried again right after coming back on July 29th. They still haven't called me back. Today, I submitted a request through their website explaining my attempts to contact them via the phone and asked someone to get back to me today, it's 4:03 right now (their voicemail message tells me all the time that they close at 4:00) and I still have heard nothing so I assume I won't hear back today. 6 attempts to get this dryer picked up and not a single response is extremely frustrating. I feel like they did everything possible to get that new dryer in my door, promising flawless service, and as soon as they had the new dryer in the door and my money securly in their pocket, they've ignored me since. Horribly depressing customer service. Two other items that normally would be small enough details that I would forgive them, but in this case with how I've been treated on the pickup, are rubbing me the wrong way: 1. The salesguy Larry, told me I would need to buy water hoses to connect my new washer so I did buy some from him. I was disheartened to find that brand new hoses were delivered with my washer. By the time I discovered that, I'd already opened the ones Larry sold me, I'm sure to juice his commission (he told me several times he's commissioned) and didn't feel it was worth it to drive across town to return them. This nickel and diming is really unimpressive customer service and definitely shatters any illusion of trust I had. 2. The salesguy Larry, also told me I needed to buy a new gas line to connect the gas dryer, so fine, I bought one of those too. Only it turns out in his hurry to sell me something, he sold me a gas line that only connects gas ranges - it doesn't work on dryers. This was really un-helpful when the install guy came for the installation and was able to point out this problem to me. Honest mistake? Probably... but coupled with everything else I feel the mistake happened because he was in such a hurry to run my credit card there wasn't time to think about grabbing the right part. The product is good, the price was competitive, though I saw the same washer/dryer at Home Depot the next week for the same price... next time I'm absolutely buying from Home Depot, even if they cost more - it's only possible for the service there to be significantly better than ApplianceSmart's... If you do choose to buy here for whatever reason, be very wary of everything they say in the process - I wouldn't trust any of it.

I've purchased many appliances from Appliance$mart. I like that they have a wide selection at their showrooms (though, of course, it's quite variable) and the sales reps seem to know about appliances and what they have in inventory. The rep who helped us left us alone when we wanted some time to think and was good about not steering us to products in which we had no interest. Though I don't usually buy extended warranties, these appliances are for a relative's house and I didn't want them to have to find someone to fix them if they failed. The price seems fair if you consider it an insurance policy. Since we were not sure when the appliances would need to be installed, they were willing to take the products off the floor until we told them we needed them -- nicely flexible. Delivery was prompt. The refrigerator looked fine, though it could not be placed in its ultimate location because the kitchen was being painted. The range, however, was sold "new in box" and it had a good-sized dent in the side. I refused to accept that delivery, they put it back on the truck, and they told me someone would call me about redelivery. I ended up calling Appliance$mart's delivery line after I hadn't heard from them in a week or so. I ended up leaving messages each time, but finally got a call back and they asked me to schedule a delivery date for the range. The range was delivered on time and without incident.

I was looking for a specific Whirlpool washer with the steam feature. I found the specific model I was looking for at this location. When I called they knew exactly which washer I was talking about and said they could hold it for me for the afternoon. When I showed up a few hours later it was packed up and ready to be loaded into my vehicle. The salesperson told me about warranty options, but was not pushy. The final result was that we saved hundreds of dollars on a top of the line washing machine, and it works great!

We were able to save a ton of money here. The dryer that we bought was a scratch and dent that didn't have any damages that effected the mechanical aspect of it; this knocked $200 off the price. They were also very prompt with their delivery and arrived in the time frame specified. Also, the installers that came out did a very efficient and fast job.

I purchased a washer and dryer set. Their price was competitive, even with the delivery charge. The delivery went smoothly. My only complaint was that they switched out the dryer I bought for a slightly different model. Even though the model I ended up getting is a pricier model, I would have preferred the model I originally opted for.

I have purchased appliances here before and have always been pleased with the value. On Sunday, I purchased a new front-loading washing machine. The salesperson was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was so grateful he was there. He even personally helped load the machine into my truck. I will continue to buy my appliances here!

Overall my experience has been less than acceptable. The delivery and repair guys have been great and the store manager was helpful but no one seemed to be particularly concerned with fixing the problem. Maybe this is a case of getting what I paid for, but Appliance Smart markets itself as a full service retailer selling 100% sound appliances and that has not at all been my experience. Would not buy from there again.
Description of Work: I bought a refrigerator from Appliance Smart and had it delivered. The delivery guys were on time, pleasant and did a good job. Unfortunately, the fridge didn't work. When I called the service department that morning, they didn't return my call. When I called the next day, I was told that they couldn't do anything because it is a GE appliance and only GE can service their appliances the first year. I called GE and they couldn't come out for a week so Appliance Smart sent someone. He did a lot of work but was unable to fix the problem so he said he would order some parts and it would be about a week before they came in. I called Appliance Smart three days later to follow up and no one in the service area knew anything about the situation. So, I am still without a working refrigerator and have no idea when it might be working.

I HAVE A GAS DRYER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IF IT HAS A PLUG, IT IS AN ELECTRIC DRYER (I WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS ELECTRIC OR GAS). THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE DRYER WAS A STANDARD WIDTH. THEY GAVE ME THE MEASUREMENTS OF A STANDARD DRYER AND I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE IT WOULD FIT, WHICH IT WOULD (ACCORDING TO THE INFORMATION THEY GAVE). WHEN THE DELIVERY GUYS CAME OUT TO INSTALL THE DRYER, IT DID NOT FIT AND IT WAS THE WRONG KIND. THE SIZE OF THE DRYER I PURCHASED WAS NOT STANDARD (THE SALESPERSON DID NOT VERIFY THAT). THEY DID REFUND ME THE MONEY FOR THE DRYER, BUT WOULD NOT REFUND THE DELIVERY CHARGES. THEY DIDN'T EVEN BRING IT IN THE HOUSE (OR EVEN TAKE IT OUT OF THE TRUCK). I CALLED THE STORE AND BELIEVE I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER WHO TOLD ME I HAD TO TALK TO RANDY (THE DELIVERY MANAGER), WHO TOLD ME WHAT HE HEARD FROM THE DELIVERY MEN, HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CREDIT THE DELIVERY CHARGE AND IF I WANTED A CREDIT, I WOULD HAVE TO CALL THE STORE, WHICH I HAD ALREADY DONE. I WON'T BE GOING BACK.

SALESMAN IS A FORMER REPAIR TECHNICIAN. KNEW WHERE THE INVENTORY WAS WITHIN THE STORE. QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED CORRECTLY. I WAS NOT RUSHED. CHECKOUT WAS FAIRLY EFFICIENT.
