Tom was quick to respond. He came out to look at the floors and gave an estimate the next day. He was able to do the work the next week. It only took approx 2 hours inside the house to finish!

Excellent! We had a small problem with incorrect size boards for the stairs, but that was corrected quickly. Tom came out and did all the work in one day. He is an excellent carpenter and is very detailed minded.
Description of Work: Tom built Maple stairs to our lower lever which included the steps and risers. In addition, he installed crown molding in our living room, a Maple shelf under a window, and adjusted/rebuilt door jams and floor molding after having new hardwood floors installed.

Tom was able to schedule the work right away. He was very respectful during the process and worked diligently all day. He took care to fit the stairs accurately. He brought the quarter-round trim, but I would have preferred coved. He cleaned up the work area very well. After he left, I noticed one stair had some discoloration. I called Tom right away. He suggested it might look different once the finish coats were on, and said that if it didn't look good then, he would replace it. With the finish coat, I thought that stair still looked bad compared to how beautiful all the others were. I called and he said it would be very difficult to tear it out because the glue was so strong it might damage the riser. Although I am not satisfied with how it looks, I opted to leave it. I wish that he would've removed it when I first called, when the glue was not yet dry. Also, the glue is still off-gassing 5 months later. I would've liked to know in advance and looked for less toxic options.
Description of Work: Tom tore out 15 old stair treads and replaced with oak treads and trim.

Tom was quick to respond to my initial phone call and came to do an estimate the same week. He stained all of the wood in advance as well as custom-made wooden heat register covers. Tom brought someone to assist him. They were pleasant, very focused and excellent problem solvers. The job took them six hours and they worked without stopping. They also helped us carry up a very heavy piece of furniture and adjusted our pocket doors. They cleaned up when the job was complete. Clearly both took pride in their work.
Description of Work: Finishing work on new hard wood floors. Stained and placed quarter-round trim in kitchen, living room, dining room and hallway. Attached stair railings.
