Description of Work: Sarah was a great designer who came out to measure for blinds for my remodeled kitchen. Showed up on time, suggested the right product, faux wood, which would work best for my kitchen. Brought in samples of different types and colors. When blinds were ready for install, great service, timely and installed perfectly. Also, I have painted trim, so they were able to match the trim color to the blinds which make it look beautiful. Definitely would recommend Abbott for both design consultation as well as paint selection and quality.

Description of Work: They were busy we were looking for paint colors in shades of gray for our living and dining rooms A woman clerk waited on us showed us some color swatches and where they were located in the store and left us to help other customers We never did form any kind of a service/customer bond with her or develope a path leadinmg to a decision so, after about fifteen minutes we left and went to Hirschfields they were busy too after 5/8 minutes we were waited on by a fellow who was very knowledgeable about paints and colors and guided us very deftly to colors in gray tone with suggestions of accent colors etc and we bought out paint from him and are very happy with the results

+ 0 moreWhen having a kitchen remodeled, I also had baseboard radiators installed in the room above the kitchen. This necessitated the removal of the old large hot water radiator. The removal of the radiator left holes in the carpet where the feet and water pipes had been. I called Tim at Abbott and he came over the next day to look at the work that needed to be done. He checked my carpet remnant to make sure it would adequately cover the area and provided me with a estimate the next day. I then called and made an appointment. The repair man arrived right on time, removed a rectangular area of carpet and patched in the new piece. The patch looks great (in that it is hardly noticeable).

+ 0 moreI worked with Tim Abbott. He ordered the carpet and had it installed the next week. The people who came to install the carpet were really very good. They knew what they were doing and they didn’t make a mess. We will use them again to carpet our lower level and our bedrooms.

+ 0 moreVery good job. Tim was very flexible in scheduling an installation time that made sense for us. We had to reschedule several times due to delays with other contractors finishing work in the space to be carpeted, but he was always very responsive and flexible. Great installation job. Installers suggested changing a planned transition from carpet to tile that ultimately made the finishd product look much better than anticipated. Very comfortable with overall job, will use them again. Note that I did not provide a rating on price since I obtained only one bid.

Also, they are the little guy and we will always support the little guy over the big box. Great service, good price and professional. Buying carpet again this summer and going back to Abbott Paint on Grand.

+ 0 moreThis kind of thing is never fun - especially moving furniture around, but overall it went better than we expected. I wish we would have thought to contact Abbott's to replace our flooring years ago! Abbott's staff, from sales to installers, were polite, knowledgeable and professional. One day the installers showed about about an hour later than expected, but they were still done on time as promised so we aren't complaining.
Description of Work: We had been procrastinating replacing our nasty, worn-out condo carpet for years. We were delighted to see Abbott's pop up when we finally got around to doing an Angie's List check for service providers in our area. We have long relied on them for top-notch paint service, but had forgotten that they also do flooring. When we went in the store the sales person was helpful in picking out and ball-park pricing out our options. They allowed us to take samples home and then called to follow up about our interest. They scheduled someone to come out and measure for the new carpeting at our convenience and called back with various estimates a few days later (e.g., estimates for just carpet/pad installation, or plus removal or furniture moving, removal and installation).We put about 30% down over the phone and the carpet was ordered. When they found out that our particular carpet was back ordered, they call back right away to explain the delay. As soon as the carpet came in we received another call scheduling the removal and installation. They even arranged for us to do removal and installation over a period of two days (Day 1 = Master bedroom, Day 2 = living room and 2nd bedroom). This made it a lot easier and safer for our young family.

Whatever our project, an employee gave us excellent advice, and instructions on how to get the best results. They were also very helpful when we phoned in with more questions. We have used this company in the past and taken their advice. The results have always been great. The paints last well, adhere well, and look terrific!
Description of Work: We put an addition onto our 1923 4 square style home, plus we did some restoration work on our home. We needed interior and exterior primers and paints for ceilings, old and new radiators, old and new walls, original exterior doors, windows, and wood trim.

+ 0 moreI love this company and will never go anywhere else for paint and paint advice. Ben Moore paints are the best, in my book, and the whole Grand Ave. team is very helpful and patient. I liked them so much that when I finished scraping and painting the exterior of my house years ago I brought in photos of the job and gave them a plate of cookies I'd baked for them! I recommend them to everyone who wants great paint and great service.
Description of Work: I remodeled my kitchen recently and needed primer, wall paint, ceiling paint, trim paint, stripper, radiator paint, and paint for a faux decorative terra cotta tile. Several colors had to be matched to existing painted cabinets, trim and contrasting plate racks.
