A CUT ABOVE TREE SERVICE

I would never use these people. The owner of this company knocked on my door like it was the police at my door three separate times at 7:45 am after we didn’t answer our doorbell, He rang it three times before pounding on the door. So, I raced to the door thinking it was an emergency. He was soliciting his tree service and asked if I wanted a tree in the front yard cut down. I told him I'm not interested. He kept trying to sell me on getting my tree cut down I said again I am not interested. Then I asked if that was necessary to knock so **** ** my front door and that I was sleeping because I work until 4 am and he just woke up our baby. He just said OK. The guy showed no remorse and started arguing that he didn’t knock that hard and told me to check my ring doorbell. Not one apology. A few minutes later I noticed they were standing around in my yard smoking cigarettes, so I asked them to please get off my property which the owner tried to argue more than I just walked away. They were working on the house across the street and because he was rude, I told him he has no need to be in my yard. They continued to leave their chainsaws and tools in my yard, but I left it alone. I do need a tree cut down, but I will be looking elsewhere because of this. Update he came back 3 hours later after my father came over to say hi to our kids. The rude owner started getting in an argument with my dad who knew nothing about what happened earlier. Then I came out of the house to tell my dad don't waste your time with this guy he is rude. The rude owner walked up my driveway and approached me to start another argument he got really close. He said a half as apology saying sorry but how was he supposed to know you and your baby were sleeping. I told him I do not care you were crazy rude before. Then I asked him to leave me alone and get off my property which we were half way up my driveway . Three times I said get off my property and He refused to leave and kept trying to argue with me and stepping towards me. My dad came over yelling telling him to just listen and leave me alone. Only once he noticed my dad pulled out his phone and was recording him, He left my driveway and started recording me. After that my dad started telling his coworkers to get the tools off my lawn. One guy apologized for the owner's behavior and stated, "that guy is a jerk, but he isn't". Then I said to that coworker I appreciate it but that the owner would just not leave me alone and has been rude. The coworker began screaming and cursing at the owner. That guy was very respectable and that deescalated the situation as the owner ran off to sit in his truck and video tape us. Now the owner is making up his excuse under this review don’t believe him.My father and I did not once threaten him we only asked him to get off my property and leave me alone which again he refused.WE called the police because after all that the owner was kept waving at us as he was working trying to provoke me and I didn't want him to come back on to my property at this point I was worried about the safety of my kids and wife. The police said he will tell him he will not go back on my property or else he will be arrested. The Police also said I just have to send in my ring footage to get him to work on getting him cited or else it is just hearsay. I wouldn’t have had any problem if he would have just left me alone when I said get off my property the first time, but he kept coming back so unprofessional. I bought this house less than a year ago and I have never spoken to those neighbors. This guy is just a liar / narcissist. Believe all his bad reviews, he has an excuse on everyone. We have clear video of me asking him 3 times to get off my property and him refusing and not leaving trying to argue with me halfway up my driveway. That’s definitely something someone does when he is just trying to apologize and deescalate the situation. B S

July 12, 2024 Mike (owner) of A CUT ABOVE Tree Service and his crew arrived this morning right on time. We had a front row seat, to a fascinating and dangerous process, with Mike and his crew working like a well-oiled machine They removed 4 trees; started at 7:30 am and gone at 12:30 pm, with the yard and cal-de-sac completely cleaned. They even picked up all the black walnuts that had fallen from the black walnut tree that Mike shaped. (We hate the black walnuts.) We were absolutely thrilled with the care they took to protect the ground where the equipment went and protected the house from scratches. Mike dropped a huge Maple in the back yard, perfectly placed, missing the other trees, the fence, the deck. This was a job-well-done if we ever saw one. On a scale of 1 to 5, we would give a 10. I called last Thursday to schedule an estimate to have trees trimmed in my St. Paul yard. I talked to a a pleasant woman answering the phone and was told estimates are done Monday through Thursday between 6 and 8 pm. I scheduled an appointment for tonight 8/31/15 at 7 pm to have an estimator come to my home. At 7:15 pm, I received a call from Anna with the company telling me the estimator would not be coming to my home because he would not be doing work in my area because of the road construction. Needless to say I was quite annoyed as I arranged my schedule to be home. Very unprofessional.

Amazing work! Mike was over giving an estimate on a Saturday and had the project done by that Thursday! He and his crew did a great job! When I got home from work trees were gone and Mike was about 50 feet in the air trimming our other tree. Gotta give him props for climbing a tree with a chainsaw. Mike's crew had our whole yard raked and clean and you couldnt tell they were other then the crowd of people that gathered to watch him. Thank you again Mike and you will be our first call for any future tree work. Dan

Everything looks great. I have a lot of mulch to help with other gardening projects. Overall, A+. We will definitively use them again for any other tree service needs.

Pricing is extremely reasonable for the work he does. Always does a good job.

They assured me that the property would be safe. They drove up on my neighbor's driveway and cracked their asphalt. They drove in my yard as well (that was marked with a stake so no one would drive on it.) They standing tree went fine, but they only removed a big limb from the dead tree, even though I wanted the whole tree removed. I called them and they said they thought they made it clear that they were just removing the one limb. They kept telling me that I misunderstood them, even though I wouldn't have paid them just to remove one limb. I complained about them denting my yard and damaging my neighbor's driveway, and they said they would come back and put dirt in my yard. They said they can't be responsible for the neighbor's yard. I told them I feel responsible, but they said the driveway shouldn't have cracked. He said that if they forget to come out, that I should just "keep bugging them."

THEY CAME TO OUR HOUSE AND SAID LOOKS LIKE YOU NEED SOME STUMPS GROUND UP. I ASKED HOW MUCH THEY WANTED, SAID THEY WOULD DO THE PINE STUMP FOR $60. I SAID THAT WILL BE O.K. THEY CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND DID THAT STUMP. I ALSO HAD A STUMP ON THE BOULEVARD THAT I THOUGHT THE CITY WOULD DO. THEY SAID THEY CHECKED WITH THE NEIGHBORS AND THE NEIGHBORS TOLD THEM THE CITY WOULD NOT DO. WANTED $160. FOR THAT STUMP. I SAID NO. I ALSO CALLED THE CITY AND THEY SAID THEY WILL DO IT. THINK THE TREE PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO PULL ONE ON ME.
