Original problem was found to be the thermostat but after looking at the furnace, he recommended we replace it. We were thinking that would be coming soon so it wasn’t a surprise. He replaced the thermostat to get it heating again and then gave me a wide range of options for a replacement. We called the next week to schedule and had a new furnace within another week. The installer showed us some great tips about changing the filters and so on before he left.

They did an awesome job! They were on time,courteous,very informative,answered all my questions,and they cleaned up everything before they left. Looks great! Definitely will use them again if needed. Price good too.

Once we received the estimate we decided to give B&D our business. I called and tried negotiating the installation of a bathroom fan ($150 value) taken off our initial estimate in return for our business and Lee promptly shut my offer down and arrogantly said "we don't do that." There was no room for negotiating and I'll be honest, turning down a $1900 job over $150 seemed ridiculous to me. We always negotiate and never pay full price, especially when it comes to work like this. Everything is negotiable and if they don't need our business I'm happy to give it to someone else. I was completely turned off by his arrogance. The best part is, we found another company willing to do the work we need for only $1300.

It went very quick, he reviewed each thing that we needed fixed, gave me a review of what he found and then fixed what needed to be fixed.

The estimator was very detailed in explaining the process and gave extra information on existing appliances and potential issues (even looked at a fireplace that wasn't working properly). There was some grumbling between the techs because the order apparently wasn't written up properly, but they did the work as directed and were very efficient and professional with me. They were very careful when they had to come indoors, gave detailed operation instructions, and were quite helpful. Also cleaned up after themselves. When the city inspector came, he found a couple of very minor things which the estimator, who also came to that appointment, fixed on the spot.

Bill and his apprentice were very professional. Bill answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I felt taken care of and trusted their competence.

He was very early, detailed, and I was very impressed and happy.

They did some work on our secondary property.

It was a lot more money than I was thinking it was going to be. I thought they were expensive. Making the appointment was easy enough. I didn't really have anything to compare the price to. I liked everything, but the price. They tend to push you to take on the $79 contract for the year to get 10% off.

Excellent. They were early, completed all the work in the time frame they stated, cleaned up after themselves, and everything works perfectly. Price was on the higher end of my estimates but they included everything, were as others said they would know if they needed to add as the work was completed. I also went with the top of the line. The temperature in the house is very even now. It keeps it right at what you set it at and you don't even hear it running. Sometimes I'm surprised by air coming out of a duct as I walk by because the system is so quiet. My fist A/C bill was considerably lower as well!

The team B&D sent out was top notch. Before doing any work, they assesses the needs, explained to me exactly what needed to be done and how much it would cost. They were knowledgeable and courteous. The work was performed very well and at a fair price. I will call them for my future plumbing needs.

Great! Mark arrived and discussed situation I wanted fixed. Mark used a camera system to identify sheetrock tape that was flapping against sheet metal several feet inside of venting system. Mark made discreet access to sheet metal and was able to remove the problem. Took him about an hour to solve the problem!

They removed the corroded hose and now we are able to use our new washer! I would use them again if a need would arise.

From the first visit to test the water quality and the old softener unit, to the follow up visit to install the new water softener, Toby did a fantastic job. He was very punctual, and professional. He was also very informative about the product and process. He cleaned up after himself as well.

B&D did a great job replacing my 19 year old inefficient furnace and AC unit. The guys pulled new vent lines and new AC piping out the side of my home with only a 2' x 4' opening in the ceiling of a room adjoining the mechanical room (the old furnace was flue vented). I was surprised they could get this done in such a tight space. In addition to the furnace install they cleaned up the routing of our gas supply manifold and some of the furnace duct work in the furnace room. This was above and beyond what I expected. The furnace room looks more open and cleaner after they finished the job. They finished the work in two days. They were on time, courteous, and left a clean work area when everything was completed. I'd gladly hire B&D for any future needs.

It was difficult to get his hand with the tool in the access area but he stayed with it and was successful. As he was getting his tools together he could hear water dripping and figured out that the trap was leaking. He replaced the trap with a new one and the leaking ceased. If he wouldn't have stayed with the project the leaking would have continued and I would have had to call B & D to return again.

They've been through here on several occasions. We had our water heater die, so they did the water heater and they hooked it up and everything, and they sent the same guy again. When we bought the water heater we got a couple of quotes. We really, really liked the guy who came in and he also installed, but we were real impressed. We really liked the guy we worked with; I mean he was really knowledgeable, you could tell he knew his stuff. And so we said we will go with you if you are the one who installs and he said okay. Well then they called us and they're saying 'so sorry, I can't make it, double booked or whatever, so we're going to send, let's say the next guy's name is Bob.' Well, we went ahead with you because we were going to use you. Tell us about this new guy. Is he any good? Yes, highly recommended, very good - all this stuff. And so we go well, okay, based on your recommendation because we were talking to the guy who promised to come. Nope, not him - somebody else - not even the second guy who was promised. So he comes - he did an okay job installing, except we can't get any hot water after he leaves. And it turns out that he had put it on - or it was on when it arrived, whatever - on vacation hold. There's a knob downstairs but we didn't know. And also, when you get a new water heater, new things, a lot of times they'll sit and explain some things, like here's your paperwork. Nope - the guy's just done and he left. So we go look and we don't have any hot water. So we finally call late that night because the guy says it'll take about 45 minutes to heat up. Well, two hours, four hours, we finally call and the guy had it on vacation so it was heating at like 70 and it's supposed to be a minimum of 120. So we had to call and they walked us through what we needed to do. That wasn't so good. That's kind of B & D in a nutshell. It's like they have some really good people and some really bad people. We had a good quote, we liked the salesman, but they did not follow through on the promise of sending that guy or the next guy, and then the guy who was there didn't set it up properly. But then on the positive, when we called 10 or 11 o'clock at night, the guy was able to nicely help us walk through and find out what the problem was, and we fixed it. So it was nice that they were available. There's been some times when they've been amazing - good; we had B & D install our sink when we remodeled our kitchen and the guy was awesome, he did a great job. But then we had a leak in our tub that we had worked and worked, couldn't figure it out. And the guy who came, he's the one who we said don't ever send him back. They guy sat on our tub and had us run around the house while he turned the water off and on. I'm like, wait a minute - shouldn't you be looking for the leak because you're the plumber and you're the one who knows what to look for? So we thought that was weird. And then he finally, when it's all said and done and he's been sitting by the tub the whole time, turning the water off and on, he says, well, I don't see it. It doesn't appear to be leaking. The next day, we have a closet that you open it up - we store blankets - and it's also got the panels to get to the back of the shower. Right? Well my husband was looking for something or we were in there trying to figure it out ourselves and he had a flashlight. And it was later, because normally I think we're doing it during the day, but it was a little bit darker and the light from the flashlight shone and it was coming straight through, all around all those faucets, all around the tub fill. Oh my goodness, so then we started moving and we got - water just would go - it made total sense. So then he re-caulked, so we found the problem and we re-caulked it, right? Well it turned out later there was another problem - it's been kind of a little here, little there king of thing. I mean, it'll be good for awhile, like a year, and start leaking again. So the bottom line is that big, fat, lazy plumber who had us run and he sat there the whole time, never even saw all the problem areas that were all around the faucets. So I wasn't happy about that. So we went to another plumbing company that was the least expensive and the highest rated. And we just had him come in and he fixed it quickly. He had to cut out part of the pipe that fed into the faucet and we got all new faucets and everything for the bathroom that we've had the non-stop problem with. So we replaced that but also, if you go into the wall, there's a round device that feeds the water into your faucet - that was the leak - that was it. So that was taken care of. We're kind of done with B & D Plumbing - they're too hit or miss.

Russell came and he was a delight. He was very professional and looked over the sump pump and let me know it was dead. I figured but good to know dead and not fixable. He just did a consult today.

Since I didn't need this spigot, I called B&D to remove it. However, as it's a lake cabin, the spigot didn't have a shut-off and was tied directly to the kitchen supply lines. They were able to cut the pipe and cap the spigot line without affecting the kitchen water. While on the job, they diagnosed the well tank as on its last legs (as already feared), so a leaking spigot ending up being a well pump and tank replacement. They also moved the kitchen supply lines from the exterior walls to come up through the floor in order to give the cabin the potential for year-round use. A lot of the work required squirming around under the cabin on a dirt 'floor' with very little clearance.

Excellent. They squeezed us in on a day that was already booked. Rob explained the options very well, did a great job on the replacement, and did it all with a smile...which was impressive considering a huge cold snap, a booked schedule, and a long weekend ahead. No doubt will call B&D the next time we are in a pickle!

They did a very prompt and satisfactory job with the furnace installation. The only problem we had was getting them to give us a price for the furnace separate from the cost of the parts and labor. We had a warrenty credit from Lenox, and don't know how the cost was worked out. Even after 3 or 4 requests, they would only give us the final lump sum total.
