Description of Work: We were told over the phone that there would be a $50 charge to come and check out a problem. After the guy checked it out we were charged $119. for just an opinion. Also felt he was trying to convince us to update our carbon mx. piping on furnace for about $700. These are under a year old and put in by our fire dept. so we didn't go for it.

Description of Work: Great, friendly, and knowledgeable. Toby helped fix my water heater and refer me to his brothers company to help with my clogged sink issue. Both Fixes were Quick and Reasonable (considering todays prices are high everywhere and on everything) I was very pleased and would definitely use again, Thanks Guys!!

Description of Work: Buyer Beware |I asked for a simple estimate to replace a 13 year old water heater that was leaking. I was subjected to a two person hard sell sales team. They even had the nerve to remove the furnace cover without asking while I ran upstairs for a minute, then told me I had "issues" there as well. They went out to the truck to write an estimate and came back in with a estimate ranging from $1800 - $3600. Ridiculous. They would not leave the written estimate with me to review with my husband. On top of that, they asked for $50 for the service call - - - really, who charges for a simple 5 minute estimate when their shop is less than a couple miles away? I refused to pay the service charge and practically had to usher them out the door which I felt was intimidation. I promptly called Home Service Plus. They did a free estimate the same evening and then replaced the unit the next day for $1300. I would advise being fully informed if you go with B&D. Had I not had an idea of what it should cost (I expected $1200)I may have seriously overpaid. And there was absolutely nothing wrong with my furnace, HSP checked it as well and found only a dirty filter. |Shame on them for trying to mislead me - - did they think I was a DUMB woman? Sorry, you picked on the wrong "housewife". | |I told them I found the company by using Angie's list, so I was shocked by this experience I hate to post negative feedback but I feel very strongly that this was really a horrible experience. They may do fine work for you but I will never call them again.
