I was never contacted, even to say they were too busy. It could be that I searched for a Bemidji business and they have a Bemidji PO Box, but the business is really in St Cloud. Still, an email would have been the professional thing to do.

They provided a professional and timely bid

It went poorly. I scheduled a call for this company to come out and discuss our insulation needs. After having made an appointment, they were adamant about having both my wife and I present. After I told them that only I was available and that she would be fine with that, they were insistent upon my spouse being present, otherwise they wouldn't be able to meet. They said they want to make sure that they have both of us on board so we don't waste their time and our time. I do not appreciate a company telling me how my wife and I need to manage our house responsibilities. We have busy schedules and two young kids. We have managed for many years to have a lot of contracting projects done on our house without both of us being present at the initial meeting. It's called COMMUNICATION. I cannot speak for the whole company, but the guy on the phone made this company sound like they would be very high maintenance to deal with, so I bailed.

They don't come out for an estimate unless your husband or spouse is there. If they do come out when you are alone, they want to charge $179. Ridiculous in the year 2019. The last time I ran into this was 20 years ago. After I told him twice, I am the one making the decision, he insisted he didn't want to waste his time unless both of us were there because he had to drive from St. Cloud. I told him no thanks and hung up.

The crew arrived right on time and immediately set to work. The foreman went through the house with his infrared camera to find the locations of studs and blocks (boards between studs) and gave measurements to another guy outside, who marked these locations with black tape. Then they drilled holes into each cavity from outside (5/8" holes through the stucco). That was quite a noisy operation! Once the holes where drilled, they began filling with the foam from outside. One person was inside to see if the foam started to come through the inside. (We had one spot where a kitchen cabinet was built right up to the outside -- 100 year old house -- and they started to run the insulation into the cabinet! Quickly stopped and easily cleaned up.) They used drop-cloths outside to collect most of the excess foam (see photo) and did a pretty good job of cleaning up. They filled the holes and touched up with the paint we provided. I admit I was worried about having a lot of obvious patches showing up on the walls outside, but you really cannot tell unless you look quite close... except for a few areas where the wall is dirty. Those should disappear when I do a little wall washing this summer. Our drafty, 100-year-old house is much less drafty, definitely cozier, and noticeably quieter (the foam-filled walls deaden a lot of noise.) Looking forward to seeing how it effects my energy bill! The two photos show the back of the house during the job (see black tape and lines of foam between holes) and after (all cleaned up; patched holes not easy to spot.) I should note that this was all done in one snowy, 30 degree day.

I spoke with RetroGreen by email and phone to try and schedule an evaluation of my house's need for insulation. Being that it's a cabin my time there is limited. They insisted that both my wife and I be there at the same time (usually a red flag for a high pressure sales pitch). I told them that we would not be making any purchase decisions on the spot and I could have my wife there via phone or Skype. It took them a week to clarify this would be ok with the boss. By the time the boss ok'd it, it was too late to schedule the appointment while I was at the house. I asked to schedule it a month later, but they informed me that they don't schedule that far in advance. When I called back a month later to schedule, they told me it's their busy season and they don't have any openings. They seem like they want to be accommodating, but this much frustration just to get them out to the **** house precludes me from wanting to work with them any further.

Excellent. Timely, courteous, efficient and cleaned up very well at completions.

A crew of fine came and did the whole house in a few house & drilling holes, probing cavities, injecting foam, sealing holes, re-installing siding, clean up. I watched them, they were very thorough to get every cavity and even verified progress with heat-camera.

Crew of 5 supervised by Cody arrived promptly at 8:06 and began work immediately. Did preliminary assessment of insulation needs, removed siding, drilled holes, injected form, replaced siding, cleaned up. Used drop cloths. Very efficient and professional.

Chose this group because they were an authorized installer for the Minnesota Energy Energy Efficiency Rebate. Plus they offered "Retrofoam" for the exterior wall insulation. The crew of 8 people showed up on the day I requested and completed the work on-time. They increased my attic insulation from R-40 to R-60. They removed a strip of wood from outside my home and injected open cell spray foam between the studs. The home is more energy efficient, but the biggest benefit is that the outside noise has been reduced by half. They didn't do everything that was required to qualify for the rebate so they reduced my bill by the amount of the rebate that I should have received. On a downside, I believe the quality of the the re-installation of the wood siding was poorly done. Several months after installation, I had to spend approx 12 hours to re-secure the external wood siding, caulk it, and paint it. Unfortunately, I am unable to download to picture to demonstrate this deficiency.

On time, professional. Excellent at clean up. Gave great explanations, trouble short when needed work created a reference pocket, pricey.

A team of 2 arrived on time. They worked non-stop and efficiently to complete the job in half a day. The guys cleaned up and left the area better than they found it. We would definitely use them again.

This went very well. Good communication on finding a mutually convenient time for the work. The team arrived right on time, surveyed the job and got to work promptly. Every one on the team was cordial and friendly. The first snowfall revealed about a 100 sq. ft. section of the roof that was not insulated. Cody assured me that they would make this right. Admittedly the area not insulated was very difficult to reach. I removed some of the wall leading to the area and Cody and his crew were in the area and fixed it in a couple of hours.

Insulation was blown unite the attic to R go attend worthing employees otayed on that and confected ours project on a timely manner.

Crew arrived earlier than originally planned, seemed friendly and capable, whole thing took only a couple of hours. They unearthed some forgotten shelves laying in the crawl spac.
