JUNKERS CONCRETE BY DESIGN

Our experience started off very well. Casey seemed professional, ambitious and fairly priced. But our experience quickly went downhill as soon as we handed him the check. He did not show up the day our job was to be completed, nor the next day or the next. We finally got ahold of him, and he seemed annoyed we were getting impatient. We explained we had other contractors waiting for him to finish the sidewalks before other jobs could be done. When he did show up, he rushed through our project as if he just wanted to get it done as quickly as possible and did not seem to care much about the outcome. We had concrete splattered everywhere--including all over the side of the house. The finished sidewalks were noticeably uneven around the edges. And worst of all, both sidewalks were sloped toward the house, instead of away from the house. We were horrified by what we saw, and of course called him immediately upon inspection of the work. Not surprisingly, he ingorned our calls, but cashed our check. When we did finally reach him (by calling from a blocked number), he said he would be out right away to look at our sidewalks. We have not seen or heard from him since. One month after the sidewalks were put in, they both started to crack all the way through. We will be replacing the sidewalks this summer, and we have still not heard from Mr. Junker.

The owner required 1/2 down at signing. We post-dated the check for the day he was supposed to do the job. He cashed the check earlier and never showed up to do the work. We called him several times a day for the next two weeks but he ignored all of our requests for contact. We decided to file a claim against him to get our money back and notified him of our decision. Still no response. We are currently awaiting a court date to try to recover our money.
