Heim Insulation

During the estimate I felt Jim was very friendly and took the time to evaluate what I needed. I had a hard time getting a hold of them after scheduling the work. I wanted to know what I needed to move or cover and also to verify what was being done was the same as the recommendations from the energy audit. I never did get a hold of them so I met with the crew on the day of the job and they reassured me everything would be fine. They were very friendly and clean. I had a second energy audit however which showed zero improvement in my air leaks. I called and left a message at Heim and my call was immediately returned. They sent someone back out to look over the energy audit findings and to look at the work. They admitted that the work was done wrong and that they had had some other problems that same week and the crew was no longer employed with them. They came out again as soon as they were able and redid the entire job. They did some extra sealing and found some open places that the energy audit hadn't and made sure they were sealed. They also told me to call if the next audit found more issues and they would come out right away. I did have another audit and I had a considerable improvement and can notice that my house is warmer. The issues I had were communication--getting a hold of them and being told that the energy audit recommendations were not communicated to the crew the first time--but they were quick to fix the problem and very pleasant to deal with. Their price was about in the middle of other proposals I had received.

What I liked was that they gave us a good quote. They seemed very professional, even coming out and doing the estimate. What I didn?t like was when they left, they weren?t very clean. They didn?t clean up very well. I tried contacting them for 2-3 weeks afterwards to try and do some followup, and nobody would call me back. It took me calling them at 7:45 in the morning after my fourth call and really emphasizing that I needed to talk to somebody about the job that was done to finally get some results. Unfortunately, I didn?t get the person who was a member of the company - I got one of their grout workers. I was kind of soured on their communications with me, so I would probably look at other vendors in the future.
