Two thumbs down and we didn't even buy anything. My friend and I walked into Select Surfaces last weekend. There was a man sitting behind a desk in the back of the store. When we walked in, he didn't get up. Just yelled up to us, "can I help you?" We stood there and he still did not stand up to greet us. I said I needed bathroom countertops for our remodel. He stood up, but didn't come out from behind the desk. Really, he wanted us to meet him where he was - not for him to us where we were. This was the most awkward conversation. His FIRST questions were about how we learned of Select Surfaces. Did someone refer us? How did we find them? Ummm. I asked him if we could see samples of the different materials - he actually said he didn't have samples as we were standing beside a back-room that was full of samples. What? I asked if we could go back and see the samples clearly in front of us...It was like dragging anchors to get him to go back there with us. I had samples of my tile and set them on the counter and asked him to help us choose colors/textures. He just dropped a dozen or so samples on top of the tile and offered no assistance whatsoever. I am sitting here with a bathroom that is 3/4 of done - and ready to purchase countertops. I would rather walk down three flights of stairs to our basement bathroom for another month than buy from this place. Horrible, horrible treatment of potential customer. I am dumbfounded at how awful we were treated.

Cambria is priced equally amongst the countertop providers, of the three companies I shopped they were all within $50 of one another. I almost went with one company however they wanted to charge a service fee for paying by credit card. Since my wife and I wanted to get some miles out of the deal we dropped that company and went with Select Surfaces. Everything went well from the measure to install, absolutely no complaints. I waited a few weeks to write this review to ensure the countertops stayed put and the sink didn't drop off the counter tops (it's an under mount).

Install of the perimeter quartz in our kitchen looks great (dark grey colored quartz). We did not have such luck with our island. Because of the size of the island, there are 2 seams. We had two issues with these seams. 1. Select Surfaces used the incorrect colored adhesive. Our quartz is white with light grey marbling. They used what they call a "clear" colored adhesive which actually has a beige color. They came out to try and fix the mistake- tried to scrape the seam with a razor blade and use white colored adhesive in its place. This only worked in some areas, leaving us with a blotchy looking seams. 2. Select Surfaces designed the island counter top so that one seam falls directly in front of our kitchen window, making the seam very visible (much more so than any other seam in our counter top). We did not catch this mistake until after the install. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with their design and asked why seam placement was never discussed, we were told that it is there policy not to verbally discuss seams with clients. Instead, they outline the seams in the written contract. The seams were drawn out on the contract we were given, however there was no mention of the greater visibility of the seam in front of the window given its placement. We feel that seam placement should have been discussed with us and not doing so negatively affected the overall look of our new counter tops. We learned after the fact that there were other options for seam placement- none of which were mentioned to us until after it was too late. The manager we spoke with was uninterested in our concerns and had a very rude demeanor. He basically told us it was not their responsibility and that it was our own fault for not realizing the seam was in front of the window. As a design showroom and fabricator, advice on seam placement was a service I expected from Select Surfaces, and did not receive.

The tear down, install and rehook up went almost flawless. We were always kept aware of what was happening and when. There were two were simple issues which were addressed immediately. The countertop cutout for the stove was cut out to stove factory spec's. I actually measured the cutout after the countertop install crew left and it was perfect but when Paul tried to install the stove there was a screw on the stove which was sticking out about 1/8 inch. Paul called Select Surface office and requested help. We are located 30 plus miles from the office but someone was at our home within an hour and adjusted the 1/8 inch and the stove then fit perfectly. The response was very professional and satifying. The second issue was even more simple. In cleaning up the kitchen the box the sink came in was take out of the house with a sink accessory still in the box. This was discovered and the sink accessory returned the next day without complaint or grumbling. Overall the project went great almost perfect but how a company handles issues really tells more about the professionalism of the company than anything else. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to family or friends.

Estimate for Cambria was 40% higher than the granite we eventually installed so we did not use. No complaints about estimation process however.

Ben was hostile and very unprofessional when he came to my home 10/25/12. Select Surfaces installed a Corian countertop as a subcontractor through the owner/company that built my new kitchen in 2011. I enjoy the look of Corian and the integrated sink that Select Surfaces made. Since both the owner/contractor and I were puzzled why water was rolling into the area behind the sink thus damaging the grout, my contractor tried contacting Select Surfaces so we could get their advice. This owner/contractor made numerous calls and left messages for Select Surfaces but did not get a return call over an extended period of time. Eventually an appointment was scheduled and Ben came out to my home. From the beginning, he used a very hostile tone and attitude and if I asked a question, he would mockingly laugh. When he was about to leave, he didn't want to call the contractor who sent him, later said he didn't have his phone number and then that he didn't want it.

Very satisfied with the whole process and the service we received.

Help us decide on a product. Salesrep very professional. They were recomended by our cabinet guy as former consumer.

Everything was great, from initial sale to install. The sales associate knew the product well, the measuring at our house was thorough, and the countertops and sink were removed and new ones installed in just about half a day. The finished product fits perfectly, even against the somewhat wavy walls in our 101 year-old house (a nice attribute of Corian, we learned).

We spent $5,000 on that work. Tanya Ottem was our main contact there and she was very good and we talked. She came several times to make sure everything was coordinated and they communicated well about the schedule because were working with different contractors. Everything was great.

The installers arrived on time as well as the supervisor. I paniced and thought the countertops were too short. The calmly measured and assured me they were correct and they were. The were very professional, did a great job, barely see the seams and cleaned up well.

This is the second time I've worked with Select Surfaces. The first time was several years ago, when they installed Cambria in my kitchen. Cambria was still a young company at the time and I had a problem with the seam separating over time, but Select Surfaces was happy to come back and resolve that problem with a new method that solved the problem. My new bathroom countertop is beautiful. The installers (Mark and Tim, I think) were friendly, professional, and most importantly interested in providing excellent service to my exact specifications.

Everything went as planned. We had a tight schedule and they were able to come through.

The employee who helped us was great. He helped us match our style and needs with what he had in stock. My only complaint was that the guys that installed it never said a word. They came on time, did the work, and left without a 'goodbye' or 'We're finished'.

They had a nice selection of granite and promised installation within 3 weeks, which was why I chose this company even though their prices were high. However, when they came to install the countertops, they actually brought granite which was very different from what I ordered. One of the installers, the owner of the company, tried to convince me this really was what I ordered. Insulting. Weeks later, they did install the correct countertops, but some of the seams were done poorly. Again, I was told that this was actually how they were supposed to be. Please. However, they did come later and fix the seams. They also destroyed some 80-year-old cabinet molding - again telling me this was normal and there was no way around this. (Previous countertops had been installed without damaging it.) In the end, they left me with one countertop that had a chipped edge which they did a marginal job of repairing. I requested a modest discount due to all of this, which they refused.

First up, the measuring man knew exactly what he was doing. He came in with a special marking and camera kit that allows the manufacturer to precisely cut and shape the countertop. When they came back to install the countertops on two trips, the guys were very courteous, professional and efficient. Cambria isn't cheap, but Select Surfaces did a first class job.

Three different people from Select Surfaces came out to inspect the damage and measure our countertops for replacement. All three were quite personable and professional. We had an issue develop because they could not match the color of the damaged counter top and it would have not matched adequately the three other counter tops that are the same color in our kitchen. Select Surfaces advocated for us with the Silestone company and prevailed on them to replace all the counters in our kitchen so they would match. The crew of 3 installers(all different from the previous 3 people that had inspected and measured) were hard working, knowledgeable regarding their trade and very professional. They were careful not to damage our woodwork while taking out the old and installing the new counter tops. The crew was meticulous with all the caulking and lining up of the seems. The replacement counters look fantastic. This company went the extra mile to satisfy us!
