Did the work expected, did it well and came back to perform finishing touches after the winter and didn't even need to call to bug them to finish up, they just did it! Would recommend. Also had a quote from Midwest Fence. Glad I didn't go with Midwest as several neighbors did and they dumped all their post whole dirt and concrete chunks under my evergreens. Very unprofessional and disrespectful... Go with Dakota Unlimited and you won't be sorry you did.

I asked a couple follow up questions that weren't responded to, so I didn't use them.

I almost went with a different company. My neighbor and I both planned to put up an adjoining fence. I decided to check Angie's list and get a competing bid before signing with the same company. The bid was almost exactly the same, but the estimator said we were able to get caps on the posts as well as curved gates! I was very impressed with the installation crew and when I compared Dakota's work to the other company it was superior. Items such as beveled concrete around the posts. The other company said they did this but the concrete was larger around their posts and not shaped. It may seem silly, but even the nail holes are angled in a consistent manner. They were very responsive when one of the caps developed a crack and replaced it promptly.

Dakota was a little more expensive than the other fence people I got estimates from. However, I went with them because of the time and detail they put into their bid. They did a great job on our fence. The people who set the posts were very knowledgeable and we made a few adjustments to the estimate based on their expertise. They insisted we meet with them on the morning the posts went in and before they put up the rest of the fence--they seemed really committed to making sure everyone was on the same page before we left for the day. The fence looks great and we are happy with the quality of workmanship and the service that was provided.

I had DAKOTA UNLIMITED INC as one of my final bidders on a fence replacement. When I called to ask for estimates Rick came out very quickly and was able to hear what we wanted, work out and estimate with options that we wanted and some good ones that he suggested. He wrote a quote on that day! Highly professional and very knowledgeable. Ultimately we went with another firm due to a slightly better price, but more so because of the project timing. I would not hesitate to look at DAKOTA UNLIMITED INC for any future work I would have or to recommend them to others.

I first became aware of Dakota Unlimited on Angie's list and I was pleased with the experience of working with them from start to finish. A sales representative was out to evaluate my needs and offered recommendations on a timely basis. Everyone I worked with was professional and I was impressed that the owner visited prior to installation and gave me excellent feedback on options for the fence. The finished fence is beautiful, the quality of work was excellent and they completed the entire tear down and installation in two days. I had gotten other bids and although they were not the cheapest, Dakota Unlimited did offer a excellent value considering their quality of work. I would highly recommend this locally owned family business.

They measured and determined the price. I changed my mind multiple times about the style and final product, but Ron was very patient and took the necessary time to advise and reprice my different choices and options. When I finally decided what I wanted, the owner came out and reviewed everything and made sure everything was ready to go. It took a day to tear down the old fences and dig and install the posts. Everything was done professionally and meticulously. Everything was cleaned up and removed afterward. The posts had to set up in the cement for a few days before the next phase could begin. This was a lucky thing for me because I changed my mind again as to what I wanted for the fence. I thought it might be too late, but when I called Ron, he had no problem refiguring what I wanted. He helped me(on a Saturday) put together my new ideas and in the end we both thought it was going to look even better. They came out the following Thursday at 8am sharp and got to work and didn't stop until they were done at 5:30pm. Everything is built on sight. Every board is cut and installed one at a time to insure that it is perfect, precise and gorgeous. I still have the Dakota Unlimited sign up in my yard because I know everyone is going to want to know who did such a beautiful job. I have received so many compliments. I was planning on putting some trees in front of the back fence because we removed some dead ones previous to putting up the fence. However, I have had too many people say to me, "You aren't going to cover up that beautiful fence." So, now I have changed my mind and am only going to put in shrubs or flowers that will showcase it. You will not regret having Dakota Unlimited do your fence. They are GREAT!!!!!!

The sales representative met me at the house to measure the property and listen to what I was looking for. She made several suggestions that improved what I had originally requested. I had called a couple places for competitive estimates and found that Dakota Unlimited was a little more expensive than the next highest-rated installer on Angie's list. I asked the representative why their fence was more expensive and she gave me great information about the quality of the materials used and their warranty. I share a fence-line with a neighbor and she agreed to tear out that side of the neighbor's fence and tie her's into my new fence (if the neighbor agreed) at no cost. The fence installation was scheduled promptly and Dakota's communication was excellent. I knew the status every step of the way. I received a call the night before the post installation to make confirm the plan. The posts were set and a second day was set to come back and stretch the chain link in about a week after the concrete set. Again, I received a call the night before to remind me that they were coming and to set a time. Don, the installer, did a fantastic job on the installation and was extremely informative, professional, and friendly. The fence looks beautiful! Better than we had hoped. We would absolutely use Dakota Unlimited again! First rate operation!

From start to finish, Dakota was the absolute best. Andrew (sales guy) came to the house to give me a quote and he was very respectful and professional. He came fully prepared with product samples, pictures and a lot of helpful information. While Dakota was not the cheapest, they were by far the best value for the money. Nothing against the competitors, but I did get a cheaper bid and still ended up going with Midwest because of the values of their company and the guaranteed quality and durability of the end product. The Angie's List discount really helped with the final fence price. Dakota made the process incredibly easy and the post holes were dug, the concrete was poured and the posts were set all in one afternoon and then they came back one more time and completely installed the fence including a beautiful double-wide gate on one side in one day. The fence couldn't be more beautiful. I'm incredibly happy with it. It's well worth the investment. Thanks, Dakota. We had Dakota remove our old fence and pergola and install around 98' of a new fence in the backyard of our S. Minneapolis home. We invited three Angie's List providers to provide estimates for the project. Of the three, Rick with Dakota was the most responsive, showed up on time and was the only one to give me an estimate on the spot. We wanted a somewhat non-traditional fence - wood frames with hog panel frames. Dakota was the only one who had previous experience with this style and knew exactly what we wanted and how to build/install it. We went with Dakota because Rick seemed the most professional and knowledgeable. Dakota was not the cheapest estimate, but they also were not the most expensive. The crew who did the tear down and post setting and then the crew who came back to finish the install were great. They were on time and very professional. Their quality of work was impeccable - right down to matching up the wire frames so they were completely even with one another all around the yard. They had to work around several garden beds and didn't disturb or damage anything. We couldn't be more please with the final outcome. Strongly recommend Dakota for any fence work - we also plan to have them back in a year or so to build a new pergola to replace the old one they removed.

Working with Dakota was a great experience. Everything went perfectly from the time we got the estimate until the last board was nailed down. Dakota took care of everything..they even went the extra mile by setting up a temporary fence enclosure for our dog. Crew was friendly and professional. It was amazing to watch how quickly they could take down and install a fence. The fence is absolutely beautiful. We're so glad we found Dakota on Angie's list. I would definitely recommend!!!

If you are in the market for a fence, my opinion is that you do not have to look any further. I could not have asked for a better experience, from the initial proposal, to the scheduling for the job, to the installation. Everyone I have dealt with at Dakota has been professional, prompt, and a pleasure to deal with - and I mean everyone. Moreover, the quality of the fence - a simple chain link fence - is superior. It is an obvious upgrade over my neighbors' fences. The attention to detail is apparent. Simply put, I couldn't be happier with this company.

A pleasant experience all around! First of all, we were very happy that they were able to move the estimated work date up by at least a month. The two employees who did the work were very friendly and professional. They explained everything well and were able to get the job done quickly. In fact, they both went above and beyond and we can't thank them enough!

Replaced a 35+ year old fence originally constructed by the homeowner. Dakota Unlimited had installed a fence for us in 2006 working within existing landscaping constraints. Project completed with minimal evidence of their having been on the premises. No question with whom we'd work with the current project. Again, project completed professionally. Jason and crew did an excellent job with efficiency and respect for property with excellent cleanup on a day of rather nasty March weather.

They did a good job. They came and time and finished in a timely fashion.

They gave us a fair quote and they did a great job with the work. They were able to coordinate it with our neighbor?s fencing. They were very efficient. Their price is very competitive. They have quality products too. We had a something but they came back and fixed it quickly.

Dakota installed our backyard fence. I had a very positive experience with all my communication with the sales rep. He was prompt, courteous, and knowledgable. Work was scheduled and completed quickly and in a timely fashion. Our back yard fence seems to be holding up well after 2 years. My only complaint would be that after making plans for fence design / post location with the foreman, the crew who actually came to install either didn't follow the design as planned, or it was not communicated with them. I came home to find they had dug the post holes (which involved chipping out some of our driveway's concrete) and were pouring new concrete in the wrong locations. To the crew's credit, they were very apologetic and corrected the situation. However, especially given that Dakota's price is far above much of the competition, I expected better.

Dakota Unlimited was awesome. They were very prompt at getting back to me with an estimate. The estimate was fair and we were told they would start the work in two weeks and would call to schedule when they were ready. They called three days later to come reset posts because the needed time to set before the fence could be replaced. They made certain the fence was temporarily connected so our dogs would not get loose. They came back less than two weeks later to finish the job. They hauled away all the damaged fencing they replaced but forgot some posts that were next to our garage (away from the fence). I emailed and they were back the next day to pick up the posts and couldn't apologize enough for forgetting them. They were very professional and informative during the process and took care not to damage my lawn during the job. I will definitely hire them again in the future!

Everything went extremely smoothly. Rick the saleman did a very good job of explaining the process and estimating. My property is very uneven and he explained how associated issues would be handled. Dan and Todd were the installers and they followed up with good, cheerful explanations. They worked quickly, carefully, and skillfully and did a great job of clean up. I was particularly impressed that the owner Chuck came by a few days before installation and made some adjustments to the plan which I think were significant improvements. In addition, Chuck stopped by during installation. This kind of attention by the owner is very confidence-inspiring. The fence is absolutely beautiful and I have received numerous compliments from neighbors.

Although Ron seemed like a nice guy, he was very brief and we just didn't feel a personal connection. His estimate was actually under the company we ended up going with, but Dakota was booked 6-7 weeks out. I was a little annoyed when I found out that a couple of our good friends called 2-3 weeks after we did and were told they were only booked two weeks out (they live in St. Paul). They even had their fence installed before we did! We would have gone with them if they weren't "booked" so far out.

We hired Dakota Unlimited to install aluminum fencing and a gate at our house in Summer 2013 and it was a great experience! As such, when we needed to install a railing on a 2nd floor deck, they were our first call. However, this experience was horrible - lack of professionalistm, timlineness and ultimately, responsibility for the job. The representative stated he did not receive e-mails from our GC, but then our GC had read receipts of e-mails from him. The lack of communication and accountability was not what I would have expected from this company following our original project. They have beautiful product, but the hassle wasn't worth it. There are many other companies out there that have the same capabilities. Final product was beautiful, unfortunately, the path to get there was not a pleasant experience.

Great! Installation was quick and they even took down an old, rotted wood fence at no charge!

I have a large gate with a post that "heaved" during our bad winter, so the post and old concrete need to be removed before pouring new concrete and re-setting the post. I called to get a bid and Sheryl told me that they have a "$500 minimum labor charge, plus materials and time." No surprise that a company would have a minimum charge -- but I was shocked to learn that the so-called "minimum labor charge" is not applied toward the labor required for the job. Any time spent would be billed per hour over and above the $500 because, "that's just the charge for our truck to show up." I thought I had misunderstood, but she clarified that, indeed, the "minimum labor charge" is not applied toward the labor costs.
