From beginning to end, working with this company was by far an exeptionally wonderful experience. They provided an excellent product, they understand the financial limitations of clients. They came back to fix something that looked a bit odd without hesitation. They always treated us with respect and kindness. Very down to earth. From the person who answered the phone, to the person who sent our bills, to the workers and so on. They were patient with our questions and concerns, and always very knowledgable. GREAT COMPANY. The quality of the work was outstanding. The entire crew from sales to the owner were all very personable and very easy to work with. They had excellent communication with me throughout the whole project. My fence looks great and I couldn't recommend this company more.

I talked to about 5 fence companies and found that Dakota Fence really runs a tight ship. I am the type that has several questions and RIck, the salesperson, was such a knowledgeable professional. I asked questions including lumber dimensions, benefits of one type of fence over another, etc. he also quoted me several different styles. He was available via phone or email. He was very patient. Besides their professionalism, I chose Dakota for the quality of their fences. I went around and looked at installed fences and compared them with other fences installed by other companies. Dakota's fences: straight and solid. I also liked the fact that they have two separate crews, one that sets the posts and another crew that installs the fence. Before the project started, the owner came and checked things out as my landscape was a bit of a special case. Everything went as promised and the fence looks great and it looks like it should last a very long time. They are more expensive, but perhaps you get what you pay for. No regrets.

Well this was an interesting experience. I originally order a 4' foot black chain link fence but we changed it to 5' foot. The change order was placed but it got misplaced by someone. So to make a long story short they installed a 4' foot fence. I pointed out the screw up and they had to come back and install a 5' foot fence. I got to talk to the owner and they felt horrible for the mix up and few other inconveniences they put me in. The sales person himself came over and gave me flowers and a gift certificate for a fine restaurant. I completely feel that the incident was really rare and they handled it very professionally. They were very punctual and they are a locally own and family own restaurant. After all the craziness I would hire them again to do my Alpaca fence but maybe I would confirm with the installers before they install that they got the right height. LoL

It looks beautiful! We had the estimate done and they were out in about a week to start setting the posts. They were excellent with communication and the fence was completed just as we invisioned it and at a very reasonable price. Very highly recommended.

Response was immediate, and the representative, Andrew, came out and was very friendly, helpful and professional. He gave us a bid right away that was clear and concise. After getting bids from several companies, we decided to go with another provider, based mainly on cost. I would call Dakota in the future for any other projects we may have. They appear to do quality work.

They came and put up a new fence for us. They suggested putting a double gate on one side, which we did decide to do and are very happy we chose that option. The first time they came out to set the posts, as scheduled, I was actually not ready for them to start because I was doing some other work in the backyard that needed to be finished up first. They were very understanding and quickly scheduled another time that week to come out to start the work. They were very respectful and professional. The work was done in a timely manner, and they were at my house when they said they would be. I was very impressed with everyone I came in contact with either in person or on the phone.

It was wonderfull working with the sales person Joe. Calling to the office with questions was a breeze. During instillation the head person was Fred, what a nice guy. He listened to us....changed what we needed and was very professional. Spot on....the other two men knew their business and the instillation was very smooth. We had lots of questions and Fred answerred all of them. The only thing that kinda irritated us, is one of the men that installed our fense smoked cigerattis and the whole yard smelled nasty.

Our salesman was great, friendly and ontime. The foremen even stopped over beforehand to make sure they were clear on the work. Crew were friendly and did quality work. They were there when they said they would be, price was great and even followed up to make sure we were satisfied. We are extremely pleased with our entire experience and love our new fence!

The estimator came on time, was very professional and was the only one of three companies to suggest an alternative to what I was asking for. I took his advice and our family is very happy with the fence that was put up. The demolition/post setting crew arrived on schedule and offered some suggestions on how to improved the layout of the fence. Again, I took their advice and am very happy with the results. The installation crew did a wonderful job building the fence from scratch in less that five hours. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Dakota was my third estimate. Let me just say this upfront: Working with Dakota has been a terrific experience. I am extremely satisfied. I sat in my backyard for an hour and marveled at my new fence. I just can't get enough of how gorgeous it is. I never thought I'd be so excited about a fence! I got three estimates and Dakota was my third. Rick, the salesman was willing to come over a second time after I had overslept. He did a great job explaining the product and the work; I did not at all get the sense that he wanted to "sell" me something. He made it clear that he's pretty d*** proud of the product Dakota offers. That, in turn, gave me confidence that I'm doing the right thing. I decided on the spot to use Dakota even though their estimate was the highest of the three. The first Dakota crew came in several days later, tore down my old fence and set the new posts. What a professional, courteous, and friendly crew! Not a single glitch in setting the posts. These guys knew what they were doing. What impressed me the most is that I asked the guys to build a bit of a retaining wall to keep off the dirt from the fence using the old posts. Within 30 min, my wish was fulfilled. How awesome is that? Tom, one of the bosses came over a day before the second crew came in to assess the project.. He called me to confirm everything. The second crew came in 6 days later. after the posts were set. Oh man. I was just stunned at the thoroughness with which these guys work. Amazing! Everything is built on site, including the gate. Jason himself conferred with me and explained things. The wood itself is red cedar. It's just simply gorgeous! IHere's a sign of true expertise: I could tell immediately that the first crew (Corky, Ricky, and Craig), as well as the second crew (Jason, Scott, Ricky) have been "doing" fences for a LONG time: Every movement of theirs is right on the mark. I've never seen such efficiency and proficiency. These folks are true experts at their trade. . Lastly, let me state this: What is perhaps most important for me is the professionalism and timeliness with which a project gets completed. Jennifer who handles scheduling and billing is most professional and efficient and everyone at Dakota kept their word in getting the job done. In addition, Rick, Jason, and Tom gave me real solid advice on how to take care of the fence (e.g., what stain to use). That is not necessarily the norm. I felt treated with respect and for that I gladly pay more.

The person came out to give us an estimate. They were courteous and professional. They were not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive either. Overall we thought they were the perfect balance of quality and price. They came out to install the fence and did an excellent job. There was one mistake on the gates of the fence, but they fixed the problem within a couple of days. We are quite happy with our fence.

The work was performed quickly and professionally. I am pleased with the look of the new fence.

We liked Rick, the estimator. He came on time, actually early. A late estimator is a deal breaker for me. He knew his products and had some helpful suggestions. He gave us a fair price, not the cheapest but fair. He kept in contact by phone and email regarding changes and general questions. The company scheduled the job at my convenience and the installers came on time. They told me everything they were going to do and did what they said they would very professionally and did a beautiful job. They cleaned up after themselves and hauled away all the old fencing. The job was complete in one day. They did some extras with the gate installation and hardware that we weren't expecting and didn't charge us. I love that sort of service. I now have a maintenance free fence that I never have to watch my wife paint again. Thanks Dakota

We were very impressed! After receiving estimates from three other companies, we met with Dakota's sales rep, Steve, who seemed very knowledgeable and made suggestions that actually saved us money. We contacted him several times after our initial meeting to ask questions and he always answered quickly either by phone or email. There was never any pressure to purchase or sign anything, and he was pleasant and well-informed. Over the next few weeks, we spoke with several people at Dakota by phone, usually to coordinate schedules, and they were all polite and able to answer our questions. The work started on time and was completed on time. The foreman and crew were all very professional and appeared to be well-skilled. We were initially unhappy with the appearance of three of the pickets and Dakota sent someone out the next day to replace them. The fence is beautiful and we've received several compliments from neighbors. It's quite sturdy and the gates swing well. We're very pleased and would highly recommend this company.

I contacted Dakota to get a bid on a small section of fence to complete a cedar fence in the back yard. They also gave a bid on a small section for my neighbor. Ron came out promptly,returned the bid and while not the lowest bid I selected them because of their reputation for quality (something I did not have for the original fence) and because this was a small area with some tricky spots. We signed the contract and they came as scheduled. The crews are professional and helpful and know what they are doing. The result is great and I highly recommend spending a bit more and having Dakota build your fence...you will not regret it.

Overall the process went very smoothly. The workmanship is very good. I had some miscommunication with the sales person and the work order. On my quote I had one fence type and right before I agreed to go with Dakota I spoke with the Sales person and changed my fence type. It was probably a miscommunication, but the change in fence type wasn't communicated to the installers on the work order. I did clarify with the installers before the started work, so most of the change was caught before inatallation. I requested a removable pannel. The installer forgot to do that, so they had to cut the nails and redo the pannel with screws. Again, the fenc equality is good. It is always good to confirm what you want with what is going to be done.

salesman provided pictures of fencing options, we were able to view a recently completed similar fence. received a written estimate within 1 day. they provided quick response to any questions.once we agreed to do the project we were given dates for the work they completed the work as scheduled.we requested some changes which they were happy to accommodate. price was little higher than others, but the quality of the work and materials seems to be very high.

Everything went well - the one thing that we would recommend you would be to make sure you have your lot stakes marked. We had to quickly do a survey only a couple days before the scheduled construction - we really would have liked more notice to find them. Unfortunately our property irons were all removed for some reason, so we had to scramble to get it done. Other than that, we were really happy with the work and with the professionalism of the employees. I loved the fact that the owner himself was out working on the fence and that they did not use subs. Nice work!

Ron came out and did a detailed estimate with a few different options. They were able to work around my schedule - the post install on a Monday (not their typical day for wood fences) and then finish the fence the following Monday (again not their normal day). The crew that installed the posts verified details with a few different times prior to and during installation. They also checked to be sure I was satisfied with the placement before they left. They cleaned up after themselves, were courteous and punctual. The following Monday a different crew came to finish the fence. Again, they verified details - I needed the fence to sit very close to the ground, there were a couple areas that needed special attention (around boulder retaining wall, railroad tie steps, etc.), cleaned up after themselves, were courteous and punctual. They made sure I was satisfied with everything, even placed a board on an existing gate to fix a gap. After a horrible experience 6 1/2 yrs ago with another company (Hansen Bros) -- who made several mistakes, did shoddy work and basically dismissed my concerns with a "too bad-so sad" attitude -- it was well worth extra money to have smooth experience, quality work and responsive customer service. I will be calling Dakota Unlimited again when it's time to replace the shoddy fence and would highly recommend them.

This project went so smoothly that it was almost effortless. Rick responded quickly to my original inquiry and provided me with a good estimate that day. He even offered up inexpensive suggestions to make the look of the fence more appealing. The company was willing to work around another outdoor project I had going on and called me to schedule the install at the appropriate time. They confirmed our meeting, arrived on time, and I was finished with the post placement discussion in ten minutes. They actually started the project early and finished within 2 days (rain slowed them up). The crew was friendly (I even got some comments about that from the neighbors) and cleaned up nicely after the work was done. A quick follow-up visit for the gate install and the finished result is beautiful (I got comments from the neighbors about that too). They created exactly what I envisioned. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The experience with this contractor was excellent. The estimator, Steve, came out and provided a detailed estimate based upon the work I needed done. In a few weeks, the first crew came out and removed the old fence and set the new posts. 5 days later, the second crew came out and installed the fencing and gates. Excellent workmanship and quality, plus they were on time and did a great job with the clean up of the area.
