Description of Work: This Spring we contacted several fence companies via Angieslist. We had each company come out to take measurements and give us ideas of what we should do. Dakota Unlimited came out and gave an amazing professional presentation (actually the best one we had). All the companies either called me or emailed me with their time frame and bids for the job except Dakota Unlimited. They told me that they would have the bid sent to me via email within two days. After waiting three days I emailed them for an update. They responded back by saying they were really busy and would hopefully get me something by the end of the day. (Totally understandable) Well they never sent anything. I emailed them again and said that I am comparing prices from a couple different companies. I really liked their quality of work and reviews. So to say the least I wanted to wait to make my final decision until I received Dakota Unlimited's bid. Dakota Unlimited was a front runner for us. I received a response back from them again without the bid. This time they asked who else I had bid the project and how much they were charging. I told them I would share that information once they provided me with a bid. And that was the end of the communication with Dakota Unlimited. They never got back to me. I am not sure why they dropped all communication with me... The project was a "smaller" job ($4,000) and maybe they didn't have time for me?? I thought it was unprofessional for them to ask for the information from my other bids before they even provided their own. I also thought it was unprofessional to keep leading me on that they were going to send a bid and then never did. The one thing I thought was peculiar when I met with the representative from Dakota Unlimited she clearly stated "I will email you before I send the bid. Sometimes the bid will go to junk mail and people think I didn't send it." Well even if that is their excuse for my non-existing bid I never received the email stating she was sending it over. I am sure they will do just fine even if they have this one bad review on their Angieslist... Just thought they should be aware that I "fell through the cracks" this Spring and that is how bad reviews are written.

Description of Work: They installed a short (12' long') privacy fence so my front patio would have privacy. They came at the promised time, installed the fence, cleaned up any debris. It was a good experience for me. Dakota also installed a privacy fence for my back yard in 2007. It's still in great shape!

Description of Work: Dakota Unlimited replaced my cedar picket fence with a vinyl fence. They did a fabulous job. They arrived on time, were very detail oriented, worked in sections to minimize the amount of time without a fence for the dog and were extremely considerate in their treatment of my and my neighbors property. The weather was cold with periods of rain/snow and they still finished in the time frame they initially told me and they cleaned up the fence when they were done. I was extremely pleased with how this job went and my neighbor said she would be willing to be a reference for them with regard to how considerate they are with the neighbors property. I gave them a B on the price because they charge the same as the other companies that I got quotes from, although with the quality of their work I did consider making that an A. Since I think most people reserve the A's in the price category for lower prices I decided to leave it at a B.

Description of Work: Although the information under the listing indicates free estimates I was told I would need to pay $50.00 for an estimate. I was told my location was too far, although it is within their service area, and that since I was so far out the quote would not be competitive.

Description of Work: We had our old fence removed and a new on built.Dakota Unlimited did an outstanding job with tear out and removal and building the new fence. These folks were friendly, professional and on time. The quality of the woodworking is fabulous; we love our new fence. They volunteered to put up a temporary fence just for our dogs.As it turned out they moved the schedule around to build the fence on the 3rd day just to help us out.They were great. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a quality fence. The forman of the building crew was Jason. He get extra points because he moved the proportions of the middle rail just to please me after he had it in another location!Love the fence.Mary Casati

Description of Work: I did not even schedule an appointment for an estimate since the woman who answsered the phone said it would cost $500 for them to come out and give me an estimate in Minnetonka.
