I would hire Alex again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to anyone. Courteous, highly skilled, great communication, fair price, and works HARD until the job is done -- and done to his very high standards. Alex and his brother dove in with a great attitude even to our brutal, nasty, old-house-bathroom demo that had to go down to the studs. They started on a Saturday and worked straight through the following weekend to get us back in our bathroom as soon as possible. He called us in regularly to consult on key decisions, and his design instincts are great. Along with being a top-notch tile setter (lasers, wet saw -- the tech you want to see) he has the requisite carpentry and core plumbing skills that can come up on a tile job, including built-in niches with proper structural support, and raising the entire floor so the floor tile met the hallway floor perfectly. He did the entire wainscot in Durarock (not everyone would!) and the rest in mold-resistent sheetrock. When he wasn't sure he could get the mudding meeting our old ceiling as perfect as he wanted, he subbed out at no extra cost to me to a friend who is an expert (and who also was terrific to work with). There are no cut corners (except for the perfectly mitred ones Vlad can achieve with the wet saw!). Our bathroom is gorgeous, the work was prompt, and Alex and his small crew were a pleasure to welcome into our home.

I had a disappointing experience with Alex K Construction, as they failed to show up for our scheduled appointment twice without any prior notice. Despite my attempts to contact them for clarification, I was told “we are too busy.” This lack of communication and professionalism left me frustrated and seeking alternative contractors. I hope they improve their reliability in the future, as it’s essential for any business to honor their commitments and keep clients informed.

Alex was prompt and quick. They did a wonderful job installing my LVT in my condo. I love the results and will hire him again when I need additional work.

Alex did excellent work in installing the marble tile in my old house (especially challenging due to old walls which weren't plumb). The detailed work of the mosaic and mitered pencils outlining the shower niches is beautiful. He was patient with my many questions. Although he was subcontracted by my bathroom remodeler, I would easily hire him directly for another tiling job.

We had a small kitchen backsplash project with ceramic and glass tile and aluminum trim. Alex fit us in on his day off and did an excellent job. We hadn't picked the right grout and he helped us get the right type even though it may have slowed him down. The job was all done in one morning and it looks great! Even though it was a smaller job Alex was very conscientious and took the time to do it right. I would definitely use him again and refer him to others.
