John gave us a quote and completed the work for the quoted price even though he had to apply three coats of paint, in some areas, instead of the two as quoted. We had three other quotes,and all were higher than Absolutes Painting's. The house and shed were power washed, the calking was replaced as needed, windows and doors were covered with plastic, to protect them from overspraying. The paint was applied by spraying and then rolled and/or brused as needed. He used a top of the line paint from Hirshfields for both the house and trim. John and his crew, Mike & Adam, were very profesional and very neat, the work was done earlier than quoted and there was no damage to any of our plants or shrubs around the house. Some repair work was done to one of the windows at no extra charge, also. We have had several positive comments on how nice our house looks,as well as people wanting to know who did such a great job. Absolute Painting, has painted for us in the past and will definitely be used again.

I received additional quotes and Absolute was quite comparable. I ended up working with another company but would surely contact them for a bid on painting work again in the future. It was quite a tough decision as Absolute gave an excellent quote and were very professional.

John did an excellent job. I have an old home with uneven plaster and some cracks, and the ceiling and walls in my bedroom are now very smooth, almost perfect. I just finished painting them, and the paint applied beautifully to the new plaster. John was very personable and honest, and he gave me great advice about painting which was helpful for this project and will be helpful for future projects. We had a bit of trouble connecting at first for him to come to my house to give an estimate and then to set a date for the work to be completed, but it was the beginning of his busy season, and it was only a slight delay. He did arrive on the work day originally agreed upon, he completed the work in a timely manner, and he cleaned up well afterwards. His estimate was slightly more than I expected to pay but was still within the range that was appropriate, and his work was well worth the money. He is obviously a perfectionist, and I would definitely hire him again.

Liked our first round of painting in November so much that we went ahead and rebooked for this second round of painting this winter. Very pleasant estimate process, with very good turnaround time of an electronic estimate. Super prep and clean-up. Great and reasonable paint job, very meticulous at covering up old nail holes. Closets came out wonderful. Did an amazing job with a red stripe at doorway height in my son's room separating two other colors. Always keeps home owner in loop and doesn't interfere with "normal homelife function" during the project any more than necessary, which is very appreciated.

AMAZING. Three days and it was all done, and done incredibly well. I've never seen such detail in prep work. John was a total pleasure to deal with, and we're doing "round 2" in the next month or two....might as well paint more rooms with such a trustworthy company.

I originally contacted John in April 2009 for an estimate. I put off the painting as I was going to be out of town for a while and I also had several other home improvemment projects going on. I contacted him in November when I was ready to have the lower level of my townhome painted, He honored the quote he gave me earlier in the year. I am extremely happy with the quality of his work, he showed up when he said he would and the painting job was completed when he said. The work was very neat and I am pleased, I will hire him again when I am ready to paint other areas in my house. John also cleaned up and vacuumed the area after he was done.

It went great. Several family members used this company over the summer and were very happy. I got a good estimate in writing and then the job was done about two weeks later. It was a very professional experience and John Scott was a pleasure to work with. He cleaned up afterwards and I was very happy with everything.

He was just a quality person. He was very professional, and explained everything in detail. He was responsive in calling back to see when I wanted the work done, but I had to tell him I had to hold off. He was just an outstanding young person.

John gave us the estimate and delivered the paint swatches to our house all within a couple of days. The day after we picked out the paint colors, John did the painting and finished both rooms in less than a day. He is very neat and everything is returned to the place that he found it. He is very trustworthy, in fact we left for most of the day to tend to other business, when we returned he was nearly done with the job. We will definitely have him do all of our painting in the future.

Overall John is very professional. I really like him. He is down to earth and very honest. He even helped me pick out the color. He told me it would only take a day but if I wanted him to paint the bathroom and bedroom it would take 2 days. I am very excited to see the work completed.

John was quick to respond to my call for an estimate. He was very professional, and offered helpful advise when I was trying to choose a paint color for this challenging area of our home. He showed up on time (even a little early to set up before the crew came, which I had OKed with him). His crew was very professional and respectful - I was very comfortable with all the people that were in my home. They only took a short lunch break, otherwise they kept on task, finishing the job (2 coats of paint) in a very reasonable time. Before leaving they moved large furniture back in place and cleaned everything up, even vacuuming the floors.

Beforehand, I picked up Hirshfield's paint samples. John then helped me determine which was the best color for my home. We are preparing to put our house on the market and John helped picked colors that are home-buyer friendly. The crew did a great job of patching and repairing damage to the walls caused from poor construction and age (the house was built in 1963). I have beams in the living room and Martodam did a great job of spraying the coloring on the ceiling without getting paint on them. Everything was covered in plastic. John also helped me review paint samples for the rooms I was painting myself and made some great suggestions. One of my bedrooms was painted cranberry. He suggested a new Benjamin Moore paint called Aura because it covers in one coat (2 at most). I put on a blue color (called Atmospheric) that really did cover in one coat, though I cut in twice. It cost a lot more ($60), but the paint saved me hours of painting three or more coats of regular paint.

Outstanding from bid to clean up. Each and every expectation that John set was met from timing, to cost to look. The guys that John had joining him on the job were professional and easy going.

John was very easy to work with. He was on time for our scheduled estimate. His price(to paint the kitchen and family room) was within our budget and we gave the go ahead. Because of another job being postponed, we were able to have John and his crew out to the house two days after the estimate (lucky us!). They moved and covered all the furniture. Repaired and prepped the walls before applying the paint that we supplied. John and his crew were respectful of the house and property. Everything went as planned. In and out in one day. We will be calling on him again.

The work went smoothly, and even finished sooner than expected. The final price also came in under his estimate! He even stayed late the last day so that he could finish it up for us.

My husband called John on a Saturday and he said he would stop by at 1:00 PM on Sunday to give us an estimate. He showed up promptly at 1:00, gave a verbal estimate, and then headed straight to the paint store. That evening we received a formal professionally typed estimate via email. John arrived the following morning at 7:00 AM & began the day & a half job. He made the entire process stress and hassle free! I didn't have to do a thing, except pick the paint color. John removed everything from our walls, covered our furniture, put everything back on the walls that we wanted put back up and vacuumed everything, including the stairs! After he left, you wouldn't even know a painter had been there, except the place looked brand new! We were thoroughly impressed and would absolutely recommend John to anyone considering painting. In fact, I already have!

John started each day promptly at 8:00 AM, as promised, he bagged all the furniture, to keep it from getting dusty, he also covered all the carpeting to protect it. All the wood work was either covered with plastic or taped. The worked progressed ahead of schedule and was completed in 2 1/2 days. John cleaned, vacuumed, replaced the furniture to it's original position and removed all waste materials upon his departure. The completed project cost less than the original estimate. John was very pleasant to have around. We would certainly hire him again

This guy is SO good! We recently purchased an older (built 1941) home in Minneapolis. We were still living in Kansas but wanted to get the painting done prior to our arrival. Some friends of ours who had also moved to Minneapolis had John and his company do their new home - a very labor intensive wall paper removal and painting job. They were very enthusiastic about the work he did, so I hired him without doing any comparison shopping. And I could not have been happier! John made a trip to the house on short notice when we were in town on the weekend we closed the house deal, and brought colors and advice. We decided on the color schemes, and we left to go back to Kansas for a month. John and his crew had access to our house, and our trust was rewarded. The attention to detail was amazing - it is the BEST paint job I have EVER had. During the project he emailed and called me with updates on a regular basis. Best of all, he CLEANED UP after himself very well.
