Viking Sewer and Drain

Bath sink went well. The problem with the kitchen sink turned out to be the rubber guard around the opening of the disposal & drain. After the guy told me it was done I tested it and found no improvement at all. At that point he insisted that I test it without the guard - and ONLY THEN did he tell me that it's a common problem. Could have saved me $$ if he'd checked that first.

Worked for less the an hour and told me it was the lift pump and I'd have to call someone else. Charged me $204 and didn't solve anything!

They were here for 30 minutes and opened the drain. The price was good. I will hire Viking Sewer and Drain again.

They assessed the situation and took care of the problem. An hour later, the drain was working and I was able to wash clothes.

We had water back up the laundry room sink, there was water on the basement floor, and the water softer drain overflowed. I called Viking at 6:30. He was at my house by 9:00 and finished by 10:00. He augered the main line out to the septic tank and the problem was solved. Quick service. He was knowledgeable about the system and explained was he was doing. I would hire them again.

Considering this line runs along an exterior bay window wall, I was concerned about frozen drain. They dispatched a rep within 45 minutes of first calling! The rep was extremely professional and explained what he was doing and why the buildup had formed (even the exact location in my drain line where it occurred). He also gave me tips on how to prevent the problem in the future. I HIGHLY recommend Viking to anyone in need to drain or septic issues.

I had an almost-frozen kitchen pipeline. They worked very hard and were able to get through the ice and fix the problem. It took quite a bit of effort. I was pleased and impressed.

Serviceman was on time - did a good job. Only complaint would be him coming into house with muddy shoes. He did clean up his traffic mess in the bathroom.

We called and caught him, so he came back and removed tank again and at this time he saw a crack. So he tried to find a new tank but could not so replaced the toilet.

We called Viking that morning to see if someone could come out as we had to be someplace in the afternoon. He said that someone would be out that morning. We received a call from Louis and he said that he would be out here around 10:00 a.m. He arrived at 10:15 a.m. and started using the snake to get to whatever the problem was. He tried several times and had problems with the pipe as it had a 90 degree angle. He tried going down in the basement to see if he could get at it better. The kitchen piped are on the outside wall and in the wall. Louis was determined that he was going to get the clog open. He tried for over two hours. We boiled some water and put it down the drain. He tried the snake again and it finally broke free. The pipe was frozen as the temperature had gotten very cold that night. He cleaned everything up and suggested that every so often to boil water and put it down the kitchen drain. It would help with clearing some of the grease that comes with cooking and the soap detergent. We very please with Louis and the job that was done. He wasn't going to leave until it was resolved.

Let me start off by saying that I have used Viking several times and am usually very happy with their service. This time started off fine; they were able to get to me that day and their costs for snaking the drain were competitive. Unfortunately I was not happy with the service itself this time around. I had a meeting and was not able to watch and ask questions as the work was being done. When the gentleman was done I was questioning him trying to find out what had caused the backup, and he wouldn't really say. He couldn't tell me how far down the clog was, couldn't tell me what he pulled up (tree roots, paper products...), and couldn't tell me if it was cleared. Just got a lot of "well" and "not really" and other hedges out of him as he was trying to talk me into a whole house water filter type product. Went down afterward and there was no sticker on the pipes saying that the drain had been snaked like they usually leave. Twice now since he has been here the drain has backed up; happened to wake me up one night while it was happening so I finally discovered that it is the water softener discharging too fast through a hose that was not well placed and not a drain problem at all. If the gentleman would have been honest and just told me in the first place that he couldn't find a clog or what was causing the backup I would have known much sooner to start looking for other causes for the water instead of continuing to have to clean up a flooded laundry room.

Ran the snake all the way out to the street for me and told me how to keep my drains clear to prevent another call. Also helped me with an extra freebie - put a new fitting (that I already had in my possession ) on a joint from a "disposal install" that we'd done ourselves (but was leaking just a bit). Thanks! Would hire him again. Very polite.

This last call was to unclog a drain. I had already used a 25? snake, so the clog was in one of the branch lines underground. I called Saturday for service on Sunday. Viking responded as scheduled, and performed the service quickly. Since we live in an older house, I call Viking every three years to snake out the two main lines running to the city pipe as a preventive measure. They are consistently on time, professional, and personable.

This was an excellent service experience beginning to end! We had a sewage back up in the basement bathroom- toilet exploded and a back-up in the shower. In addition, the Utility room drain was also backed up with standing water. After contacting a very helpful Plumber he recommended I get in contact with the City to check on the main sewer line to see if there had been any recent issues. I spoke with the Public Works supervisor, who indicated there weren't any issues in the area. He recommended that I contact a professional drain expert and recommended Viking. When I called them they said they would have someone out in 2 hours. Lewis was professional and worked hard to make sure the service line from the house was cleared all the way to the main city sewer line. He even cleaned the Utility room drain at no charge. Viking and Lewis made a most unpleasant situation easy! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Plumber David Crawford arrived on time quoted and performed the service. A very understanding and polite person who conducted himself in a very professional.manner. Took care of the problem within 15 minutes and offered his business card if we ever needed additional plumbing services, he would be happy to come back. I would recommend Viking Sewer & Drain as I called 4 different plumbers and they were the only ones who were able to respond.. It was an emergency situation as I have 5 grand children ages 3 mos - 9 years old staying with us and it was after 8 pm when the sinks in both kitchens wouldn't drain. Viking came through when no one else would. I would recommend Viking especially if you have an emergency Other companies called but couldn't respond were SOS Drain & Sewer, Plumb Right and American Eagle (All in Mpls area)

I've always been happy with their work. We sometimes have to call them at odd hours to clear the sewer. They're the only ones we call.
