Everything about the job was super. From Mike, the salesman to Chris, the job coordinator, they were all very professional. They knew what they were doing. The crew was very efficient, respectful, neat and tidy. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

It went very well. The options were thoroughly explained during the initial visit. Cleanup was also very thorough. The new roof looks great.

They did a great job. The guy who did the work was also the sales man. They had everything done in one day. They cleaned up well after themselves. He was very nice and professional. The gutters look very nice.

Of the 3 bidders, only Chris actually got up on the roof to look at the siding closely (the other bidders just looked up from the ground while talking to me), and pointed out that he thought only one side really needed a full replacement - he thought the other side could be addressed in a more economical manner with trim board. He was also the only bidder to walk around the house carefully to see if there were any other spots (I invited the other bidders to tell me if they found anything else but no one looked). He made recommendations to seal a couple of places. And when the question of permitting came up, he looked into it and covered the issue. I did think that their written document was not as fully fleshed out as I would have preferred, and asked for a couple of revisions until I was satisfied. Chris was very good about doing that, even though our project was a really small project for their company. So we chose them based both on price and the attention to detail put into the bid, which the more expensive folk did not do. It has now been 6 months since the work, and we have been pleased with the results, especially with some special trim board lining our driveway. I should have written this report earlier, but was inspired to write it since I am about to call them to ask about another project.

We have always been using them for whatever we need. We trust them and they do really good work. They are responsive. They come back and do whatever we need them to do.

The job went really well. The roof is perfect, the siding is outstanding. And the windows are really functional and new. I had some hail damage and Ben worked with the insurance adjuster for many months until they decided I could also have new windows. Ben was honest and truthful. He kept his word.

A+++++!!! The entire crew from sales to construction was top notch. Every business should follow Craftman's business and service strategy. They were on time, very professional, competitively priced and cared about their quality of work. They were unbelievably impressive and I would strongly encourage you to give them an opportunity to bid on your job. We will definitely call them for our next job.

We spent 2 full years exhaustivelly researching and contacting dozens of contractors including other Hardie approved suppliers. No one could achieve my required levels of confidence, planning detail, risk mitigation, and professionalism. Until we got in contact with Craftsmans Choice. Ben Juncker of Craftsmans Choice brought a level of professionalism that is very rare in the remodel industry. He maintained a low key sales approach while demonstrating strong technical competence and authoritative knowledge in developing a remodel plan and designing the new look of the property. Working at our own pace with Ben and his team we developed a detailed plan and addressed all concerns and project risks. At the culmination of the planning process we finalized full-page, detailed renderings of every elevation of the the home as it would look finished. No details were left unattended. No TBD's Plans are great, but execution is key to success. Craftsmans Choice sent a dedicated team that performed the work exactly as planned. The crew was dedicated to working only Craftsmance Choice projects so they were tremendously efficient at working the plans and installing the new siding in strict accordance with Hardies specifications. There was no sub-contracting and no rotation of personell. It was the same crew throughout the project from tearing off the first board to placing the last finishing nail. The number one goal of the work crew seemed to be to prove that they were best company in the business and that I had made the right choice in hiring them. It took 2 years to find a contractor that met my comfort level for surety and competence. I would still be looking if I hadn't found Craftsmans Choice. And they lived up to their promises. If you have a siding project you should include Craftsmans Choice in your bids.

I called and met four roofers to do this job. Jim had the most knowledge of the problem, the most reasonable solution, and the best price. It was clear he was a subject matter expert and I felt confident signing up for his solution to my roof problem. He personally performed the work on Monday and he looks to have done a great job. He matched the shingles as best was possible, installed ice and water shield, and replaced the damaged valley. The work was completed on time and to the amount quoted. These really seem to be guys you can trust. I am still anxious about the upcoming ice dam season, but I feel pretty safe in Jim's hands with this repair.

Kim was very conscientious and helpful over the phone. Matt came out at the scheduled time. He was very nice and professional. He examined my home's storm damage and determined that there wasn't enough damage to make an insurance claim. I appreciated his honesty. (I had had a "storm chaser" come by who, without even looking, said that my roof was trashed!)

From the beginning, the customer service set Craftsman's Choice apart from the other companies we looked at. Mike, the salesman we worked with, was prompt and courteous and spent a great deal of time with us explaining the process of residing the home and what options we had. The price estimate was comparable with other bids but we felt most comfortable trusting our home with Craftsman's Choice. Our project manager, Chris was easy to reach throughout the process and visited our home often to ensure things were being done to our expectations. When he was unavailable, one of the owners visited our home to check on the status of the job. The crew was professional, hardworking and efficient. Our foreman Jose was very friendly and always smiling! They kept our yard clean throughout the process and did a wonderful job. We are thrilled with the exterior of our "new" home. We would recommend Craftsman's Choice to anyone! You won't be disappointed with their customer service and quality workmanship.

In 2007, we replaced our hail-damaged aluminum siding with James Hardy siding and our roof with impact-resistant shingles. In May, 2008, another hail storm hit us. Our James Hardy siding survived without even a scratch, while our neighbors, who used vinyl or aluminum siding, were again replacing their siding. When we got the insurance adjustment for our roof and window damage, Craftman's Choice discovered that the insurance adjuster quoted one of our roof items inadequately. They measured properly, but put down square feet instead of squares, which amounted to a few thousand dollars difference in our claim. We were able to contact our insurance company to get the proper insurance adjustment. Another example is when we moved a garden arbor and noticed that a small area of siding (3" square) was missed by the painter (the siding crew did a wonderful job of working around our plantings). Craftsman's Choice came out and touched up this missed spot - checking to make sure all other areas were covered as well. Craftsman's Choice consistently went above and beyond our expectations. When they found water damage beneath our cedar siding they analyzed what was needed for a proper repair and did a great job. While they were working on other parts of our house we decided to stain and varnish most of the wood on our other windows (at least 15 of them). Ben Junker, helped re-install these windows (which were not included in the insurance adjustment) on his own time. They have always gone above and beyond our expectations - it's a comfort knowing that there are companies who still care about people and about doing a quality job.

We give the highest recommendation to Craftsman?s Choice. Last year the company resided our 1940s house with Hardie Board and installed downstairs window inserts and a new upstairs porch railing. As environmentally responsible folks, we were pleased to see that the dumpster company they selected recycled as much of the waste as possible. They were so careful with the old windows, that we were able to give them away in good condition via Craigslist. When our old siding was removed from the garage, the wood underneath was partly rotted and very uneven. The crew replaced the rotted wood and then consulted as to how to reside this very uneven wall. They found a solution using graduated shims up the wall and the siding looks terrific! One thing that makes this company so competent is that they use teams of workers who consistently work together. They know each others? strengths and use them to everyone?s advantage. This year, we again selected Craftsman?s Choice a second time for the upstairs window installation and outer window frame wrapping. Again, we were so impressed with both the workmanship and the attention to detail. We are quite particular about small details and each request was honored cheerfully and attended to completely. Both years, every worker was kind, professional, and careful. The cleanup each day was amazing. We were so hqppy with the crew last year we cooked them a barbecue! We look forward to seeing them at their display at the Minnesota State Fair. Who can resist Hardie Board on a stick?!

It went okay--it was a slow start due to the weather, but once that cleared it went as quickly as it could. I appreciated that 2 guys did all of the roofing work. The gutters went on in a flash, as well as the siding. It really does look fantastic. I was disappointed that I had to point out that the drip edge hadn't been applied and a vent wasn't changed out.....and I'm not sure why that was, but they came out soon after to finish that up. I was also very disappointed to find out, after the fact, that it cost more than estimated. When Chris came out to do a walk-around he mentioned something about there being a $400 change order and then 2 weeks later I got a bill for $800. There was no communication as to the fact that the job was requiring more materials (and therefore labor). For someone like me, who is going to be struggling to pay for my roof as it is, something like that needs to be mentioned as soon as it become apparent.....a 10% increase doesn't sound like much, but when it's 10% on $8660 it is.

I was consistently impressed with the excellent level of customer service and workmanship Craftsman's Choice delivered. I was very careful about this large of a project and working with Ben, one of the owners, gave me confidence from the beginning. I obtained estimates from about 5 different vendors and I really felt by far the best about theirs. Ben was very flexible in setting up the initial visit for the estimate, which we really appreciated because we were in a time crunch. He was very thorough and detailed about giving me all the information about what work they would do, what different options I had, what would happen if there were any "surprises" (such as water damage found under the old siding), what the timeline would be. Additionally, their estimate was very reasonable. We had a number of what I would probably call "different" or "interesting" things about our job (how our deck is, how our gutters are, we needed to split our job up, etc), and Ben was able to explain carefully how all these things could be handled. I am a person who asks a LOT of questions, and he always answered them timely, thoroughly, respectfully and to my satisfaction. When I asked for some samples, he figured out a way to get them to me. When I asked for quotes for a few different options, he got them to me quickly. Other than some weather delays, the job started when he said it would and finished when he estimated. The crew that came out to do the job seemed through and efficient and did quality work. The end product looks great - I couldn't be happier. Of course having the work done well and at a reasonable price is very important, but there are two additional things that really made working with Craftsman's Choice such a positive experience. One, I always felt that I was being treated fairly and honestly. I believe they are a very ethical company that truly understands the meaning of good customer service and its importance when providing goods and services. I always felt I could trust what I was being told and that I was being treated like I was an important customer. The second thing is that the follow-up and issue resolution was fantastic. Ben made sure to come out after the job was completed and do a thorough walk through with us and to show us everything that was done and any deviations that were needed from the first plan. He had also kept in touch and come out while the job was being done. Also, any issues that came up or questions I had after the job was completed, were taken care of IMMEDIATELY and to my COMPLETE satisfaction. Because of the high quality of the work, all of the issues I brought up were VERY minor and nothing I wouldn't expect with a job this size. Yet, what is important to me, they were treated as if they were big ones, and they were resolved quickly and completely. With everything wrapped up, I could not be happier with the work done and my overall experience. I would look forward to the opportunity to work with this company again and would definitely call them first for any future projects.

Excellant!!! Dan visited my house to do an inspection for the sale of my house. The inspection was required by the buyers lending bank. Dan was very helpful, he completed the inspection and the required letter to the lenders specifications. I will definatly use Craftsmans choice for my next construction project.

From start to finish, Craftsman's Choice proved to be a great company to do business with, possibly the best company we have ever worked with in our 20 years of home ownership. Excellent craftsmanship and customer service are clearly priorities of the company. We were happy to hear that the company recycles as much material as possible, in fact, more than we thought was possible. We were given a detailed and accurate estimate, samples of everything including full-size, working windows, and the time and attention to make sure all our questions were answered and the work completed to our satisfaction. We had the feeling that they took as much care with our house as they would have with their own. Phone calls and e-mail were always promptly returned. The staff and crew are professional, experienced, respectful, hardworking, and really nice, caring people that seemed to genuinely take pride in improving our home. We got exactly what we wanted and couldn't have asked for anything more.

Craftsman?s Choice is the best contractor I have ever worked with. My wife an I had the pleasure of working with Ben throughout our project. From start to finish Ben demonstrated his honesty, professionalism, and commitment to our project. The end result is amazing, the James Hardie product is beautiful, professionally installed and will last a lifetime. Out project consisted of removing original shake siding and brickwork on our St Louis Park house and garage. The Craftsman's Choice crew then replaced the siding with James Hardie lap and shake siding as well as added stonework to the front of the house. This was no small task, as expected with any projects, minor issues arose. Ben and his team went way above and beyond to address any issue that came up. This is the true test of any contractor, Craftsman?s Choice honestly impressed us every step of the way. I have never worked with a contractor with more integrity. When having James Hardie installed, it was important to us to have the project complete by a contractor who only installs Hardie. We made the right choice out of the few contractors serving the Twin Cities. If you are looking for a contractor who will do great work, on time, for a reasonable cost, on budget, with high integrity and professionalism ? hire Craftsman?s Choice.

From the first time we had contact with the company, Ben promptly arrived to give us an estimate. He thoroughly inspected our roof and went over the work to be completed with us step by step. We were very confident of the estimate and knew exactly what to expect. Although they were the highest bid we had received, Ben's professionalism earned our trust to accept the bid. We talked to Ben when we were having trouble deciding which color shingle to go with and he stopped by and nailed a few of the new shingles on our garage, so we could see how they would look at various times of the day and night. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and time and worked continually for almost two days. They were very careful of our yard and cleaned up regularly, so debris would not blow into our neighbors yards. Ben stopped in to make sure everything was going well and to answer any questions. He then arrived the next week after the job was completed to make sure we were satisfied, answer questions and take a look at the roof. We are completely satisfied with our new roof and would recommed Craftsman's Choice very highly.

The company was professional from start to finish. They did a wonderful job! They fulfilled all aspects of the contract and did high quality work! They were timely, worked neatly and were considerate to me as a client. Though I was initially unhappy with some of the thinner fascia product they put on (I didn't want it to dent easily), Ben acknowledged my concerns and replaced it. It looks great! Ben was very pleasant to work with and listened and was attentive to my concerns. I love the fact that Hardie siding is so durable in harsh Minnesota weather, and I now have a product that will be durable, attractive and help the resale of my home. It was also remarkably affordable in comparison to the alternatives. The quality of the work was excellent and they deserve kudos and more business, as they were among the best contractors I have ever dealt with (and I have dealt with many)!

We are putting off our roofing until next year. We just got a quote from them. With the Angie?s List discount, they quoted us $16,500. The job included tearing off the existing sheet of shingles and installing a new asphalt roof. They were also to put new flashing and new vents. The person we dealt with was great. He explained everything. We had 2 estimates and they were both close and very good. We would have to really work to figure out which one to use. The price was a little bit more than we were expecting and so we have to save up a little more. We will consider using them in the future.

We had no problems at all. The work went very well.

They were very professional. Their quote was quite high, but they also provided the best warranty. The price seemed justified. I haven?t had any work done yet.

Everything was very easy. Had them come out for an estimate. Price was lower than what I had gotten from other companies for the same products. Work was started on time and finished early. Only found about 5-10 nails after they were done with cleaning up. Would definitely use them again.
