 + -1 moreThe workers were prompt and courteous. They treated me with respect, and there was no "high pressure" sales tactics. The work was performed exactly as promised and outlined in the estimate. My cat climbed into the attic and was stuck in there for 4 hours; the workers were so patient and persistent. They went above and beyond the call of duty to extract her safely and then they continued to do the work necessary to complete the job. I felt that it went very well overall.
Description of Work: The initial free inspection outlined not only the work to be performed, but also a realistic assessment of the attic itself. I was informed accurately of needs that would be fulfilled in order to bring my house up to code. The insulation job included using up what was currently in the attic as well as the blown in material. The workers were good stewards of the resources available. When new structural problems with the roof were discovered, it was clearly shown to me with the options presented in a non-pressuring manner.

 + 0 moreContractor showed up 45 minutes late.......no work or inspection performed.
Description of Work: Community Builders made an unsolicited telemarketing call to me representing themselves as officially certified by Xcel Energy to perform complimentary home inspections for adequate insulation, mold, mildew, etc. I agreed and scheduled an inspection for the following day at noon. It is now 12:45 pm and they just arrived and I never received a phone call to indicate they would be late. I have other plans for the remainder of the day so I intend to not have the inspection performed. My rating for this company is based upon their failure to perform as promised and lack of regard for the customer's time and commitment. To encounter unanticipated delays is understandable, but a courtesy call to the customer should be a minimum requirement by the contractor.

 + 0 moreCommunity Builders called us illegally offering a free home inspection. We are on the national do-not-call list. They say they are not selling anything, just offering free inspections. Well, if you believe that . . . . . They're only offering free inspections to get jobs. Get at least one other opinion/bid before hiring them, especially for something you may not have any knowledge of such as attic insulation. Also, be sure to check out applicable codes before hiring anyone, so you know what's required for your home.
Description of Work: Did not use.

 + 0 moreThey came to our home and did a 5 point inspection. They found that we were underinsulated and needed to add 11" to bring it up to code which is R49. This company is great! Within days of their first visit, they came and blew in the insulation. We are very impressed with the work they did for us and we are so happy that we are now going to be saving a ton on our heating and cooling costs. Even if you just want to know what is up there, the inspection was Free! I will be using them again when I need my windows replaced too.
Description of Work: They checked our home for mold and moisture, levels of insulation, type of insulation we have, made sure we had proper ventilation, and then blew in fiberglass insulation.
