I found the initial price attractive. They delivered the dumpster as promised within the time frame expected. Unfortunately the dumpster was delivered when there was a babysitter there and the babysitter had no idea where I wanted it and had them back it up so that the only unfenced passage to the backyard was nearly impassible. I believe that I asked for a call when the driver was going to deliver, which I got, but I didn't get it from the driver, like I was hoping so that I could give more specific directions (kind of necessary when you have two driveways). It would have been helpful if there was a little more effective communication. When asking the price I jotted a few notes down and somehow got the wrong idea about the weekly price for ongoing rental. I somehow thought it was $10 per week after the initial payment which includes a 7-10 days rental (I forget). So I kept it for a couple of weeks. I never got any paperwork confirming the price?no email, no letter. So I was just figuring the initial fee plus ongoing rental of $10 per week. I let it stay over the Christmas holidays expecting that it was going to be worth it, as I had more demo to do?but I could have totally returned it at that point. I had it by 5 weeks by then. I inquired about moving it sometime so that I could make a decision about whether to put it in the other driveway. They graciously told me the cost to move, ($50) and also must have told me about the cost of the weekly rental (cause they claim they did later), which somehow I lapsed over or didn't hear?because if I had I would have done something completely different. A few more weeks later I finally called to have them take it away and when I did, I asked them the total price. I almost bruised my jaw on the desk in front of me, it dropped so fast. My heart sank, and I asked again "how much?" The crisp matter of fact response?$50 dollars per week? She gave me the total and told me at that point, they had, in fact, just billed my credit card AGAIN for the last few weeks. My eyes bugged out and my heart raced. I went back in and looked at the multiple charges on my card. After it was done racing, my heart sank. Sure. I was good for the money, as they could tell through the multiple billings, but I had NO IDEA I was paying that much. I was NEVER given any sort of price in writing. I NEVER signed anything that said I allowed them to bill my card multiple times. And the worst part about it, is when I called them up asking for a little reprieve a few days later, the crisp matter of fact woman on the phone became huffy and talked about all the times she had told me and that management would never deal with me again?even for asking for some reprieve and that management would get back with me in a few days. Which they never have done?a variation on the theme of poor communication and poor customer service. Admittedly I am no professional, no contractor, no one that deals regularly in the trash business. Admittedly I somehow missed the claimed communications. But man alive. I am not the only one at fault here. I paid the company (at unknowing intervals an unknown price). They have their dumpster back. But the professionalism and communication abilities of the customer service were very poor. They must have had problems in this with the past because of how carefully they document what they SAY because you will never see anything in writing from them... Or get a call back from their management. Though if they do read this, I would still like some financial leniency...call it my professional fee for the honest and thoughtful consulting I have offered as a professional service designer...and I won't even bill their cards multiple times unknowingly.
