TS Custom Decks

We had to wait a few months but it was worth the wait. Tracy designed the new deck and provided all the information needed for us to choose options. He was so helpful and patient. The new deck construction is high quality and looks amazing. We couldn't be happier. Also cost was competitive with other bids.

Rebuilt and expanded existing deck. We had structural issues with original deck which needed to be addressed. Issues were addressed and deck was expanded as well. Work was meticulous and professionally done. We are thrilled with outcome and have had loads of enjoyment. These guys don't fool around and do great work!!!!

Tracy was so fun and easy to work with. He showed up on time for our initial consult. We did not have a real good idea on what we wanted to do yet. Tracy was full of ideas. He had pictures of other decks that he had done and gave us a lot of suggestions without pushing anything. He showed us samples of different Trex colors and made recommendations based on the color of our siding and trim. We discussed many options but still could not decide on exactly what we wanted. Tracy drafted up at least 5 different estimates for different sizes, shapes, and features for our deck. We ultimately decided on a price range and worked with Tracy to accomplish what we wanted for the price we wanted to spend. Tracy was very open to ideas and additions that he was not familiar with but still did the research to figure out exactly what we wanted. He was creative with ways to cut costs, even if meant using a product other than Trex, which he is a platinum installer for. Once the details were worked out construction began as soon as the ground thawed. Tracy and his team were very pleasant and always showed up when they were supposed to. Tracy would always involve us in the process and make sure that everything was being constructed as we wanted and discussed. There were a few times when something was not done like we had thought it was going to be. Tracy would happily accommodate us and make the change without hesitation. He never appeared frustrated or gave us a hard time for anything. Even when we would contact him at 8pm at night when I returned home after work and saw something I didn't like. Tracy has even been a please to work with several months after construction. We had a a small piece of the railing crack that was hardly visible. The crack was our fault and not anything construction related. Tracy happily replaced it for no cost. I can't say enough good things about Tracy. He is by far the best contractor I have ever worked with. His price was below 2 other estimates I got and I truly believe he was the most qualified to do the job. He does quality work and backs his work with confidence. If you want a deck please consider calling Tracy.

Tracy responded right away when we called for an estimate. He was very nice and seemed to know what he was doing, showing us samples and telling us what he could do. However, he was very slow in getting back to us after that. The last time I called him on the phone, we discussed some possible changes and I told him I wanted to be on his calendar for August. Then I did not hear from him again. No contract came and no further contact after several weeks. Finally I decided it would be better to hire someone who was more responsive.

Excellent job done by Tracy and his crew at TS Custom Decks! I had Tracy give me several quotes, which I thought was asking too much, but ge got back to me with every quote and we made a decision. I had somewhat of a time frame to get the deck done as I was having a family get together. He scheduled a date before I needed it done and had it finished within a couple days. The deck turned out much better than I expected. I have another deck that I'm going to have them construct plus a stair project. Highly recommended! Thanks!

I had Tracy of TS decks tear down a rotting deck and build an entirely new one out of cedar, and I think he did a great job. I got five bids, and Tracy was in the middle in price but I went with him for two reasons: he really seemed to understand how I wanted the deck to look, and second, he had several references that were excellent, including a neighbor only two blocks away. During the design and permit process, I developed concerns about the placement of the support posts and Tracy was willing to re-design the deck and submit new plans to the permit office, which I really appreciated. The deck is quite high, coming off the second floor of my house, and built on a hill, so the height of the posts varies- but Tracy got the boards to be perfectly level. The deck went up in just a few days and is extremely solidly built with deep footings. The cedar rail and deckboards look great, and I love the aluminum spindles. I've had it for two years now and there has been no problems with the solidity or wear to the deck. I would recommend Tracy for any big deck project.

Our daughter was married on August 31. We contacted Tracy in July to obtain a bid. He provided us with 3 variations of the bid, including cedar, synthetic, and the newer deluxe synthetic decking. We decided to go ahead with a cedar deck, size 16 x 18. It was a busy summer for Tracy. We advised him of our timeline. As August marched on, we wondered whether he would get to our project before the wedding (which would have been ok.) When he called about August 15, I told him that we wouldn't want to get things started if he couldn't finish by August 28. Tracy assured us that he could finish in time. The crew put up that deck in 4 days! They anticipated only taking out a portion of the patio, but once started, Tracy called me and told me he thought they should take out all of it, so that water didn't flow toward the foundation when it rained. I agreed. So the design changed to include landscaping plastic covered by river rock under the deck. (The only additional cost to us was for the materials, although the work was increased.) The deck is beautiful and very well built. We noticed that the supports under the deck were placed 12 inches apart rather than the normal 16 or 18 inches, making the deck that much more solid. Tracy's design includes cedar 4 X 4 posts, but between the posts are aluminum poles. The 4 X 4s include caps that are very decorative. Several neighbors commented on the attractive deck and said, "Wow, that sure went up fast!" Recently our lawn care professional left a note about the state of the lawn and added a postscript: "Love the new deck in the back!" We couldn't be more pleased, and feel fortunated to have found TS Custom Decks. This is an unqualified recommendation.

I bought a house which, I discovered too late, had significant dry rot in the deck railings, spindles and the railings going down he steps. The previous owner did a lot of puttying and painting to hide it, and did it well enough that the inspector didn't catch it. The deck is 12 feet above ground, so a solid railing is critical. TS Custom Decks and Construction was one of three companies I asked to bid on the work. The first company's bid was comparable in price, but lower in quality and up to 6 weeks out. The second company came to do the estimate, left and never called back or submitted a bid. Tracy from TS Custom Decks came out the next day, and had the bid to us in two days, including several options for finish and materials. We accepted the bid. As soon as the rainy weather stopped, the crew arrived, tore off the old wood on day one, and finished in less than three days. They carted away everything and did a truly beautiful job. There was not a scrap of wood, errant screw or left over soda can anywhere on the job site. Even my next door neighbor commented on how meticulous the crew was. You just don't see that much anymore. We are absolutely thrilled by the beauty of the work and the friendly, personable and professional manner in which Tracy conducts business. He was always prompt in returning phone calls or responding to email. I would recommend them, with complete confidence, to anyone.
