I found a good vinyl (linoleum) selection at Home Depot after shopping other businesses in town. I decided on a mid price vinyl that would look good in our home. They charge $50 to bring each sample of the mid priced vinyl home and then credit you back when you return the samples. The salespeople were helpful but I had to seek someone out for each question. The person that comes out to measure was professional, helpful and did a great job. He told us that the linoleum would need to be ripped up and the sub floor removed. It was a $50 charge for him to come to the house to measure, but then they apply that chg to the purchase price. We did the 18 mos finance plan which worked great for us, they did 18 mos because I had received a promotion card in the mail and have a Home Depot account. I asked to set up the date for install when I purchased the floor/install on 12/13/13 because we were doing the sub floor tear out and moving appliances ourselves and needed to schedule on a day off. I had 3 different dates in Jan that worked well for us. The man that set up my purchase told me that the installers would call me in a few days to set up the date. A week later I called back to set up the date and home depot told me that they would let the installers know to call me.Another week later I stopped in to pick up the adhesive that I was suppose to give the installers and asked again if I could contact the installers. She told me that she would email them. It was almost 3 weeks after my purchase that I finally received a call to schedule the install date, they were already busy on my first two preferences but were available on my 3rd choice. I called to check the day before the install to make sure nothing had changed since we were working hard to rip the flooring out and I wanted to make sure they were still coming. He called to verify the date an hour later. Then my husband had a question on how many layers to remove and when he left a message around 1pm that same day, we never received a call back to answer his question. The installers did a good job and were efficient and punctual. They had not been told by the measuring person that they needed to install a sub floor so they needed to go pick up the supplies for that part. I had paid $500 toward the total purchase for the sub floor so I'm glad that part didn't get missed. The floor looks great and we are happy with a job well done. My main complaint was the lack of communication between the installers, Home Depot and us.

We are remodeling our bathroom; found a bathtub and surround that we liked at Home Depot Rochester. They did not have 1 in stock but said Hope Depot in Burnsville did. They said they would ask if Burnsville would send theirs down for us -- would arrive on Tues. I was at Home Depot Rochester on that Tuesday...the bathtub and surround did not make the transport truck...actually Home Depot Burnsville would not release it to be transferred to Rochester. Obvously in-company competition is a greater concern for Home Depot than customer satisfaction and sales for the company as a whole. I took our entire bathroom remodeling business elsewhere.
