Fantastic work! I was very impressed with the quality of work, the speed at which the job was accomplished and the knowledge and flexibility of the electrician. Price was very fair.

The estimate went well and the guy was friendly but I had to call the company three times with voicemails and they still never returned my phone call to come do the work. Very frustrating and disappointed. Would not attempt to use them again.

I set up an appointment for 8 am yesterday, I was up and waiting. At 9:20 am. I was calling Mr Capelle to see where he was at. He did not know his schedule for the morning. He said oh, I see you were down from 8-9. It was an oversight, he says. All he could tell me is that he would hang onto my number and try to fit me in. He would not even reschedule the appointment. Not real happy.

Keith Capelle is excellent! He was really responsive and helpful with our emergency electrical situation. He and his assistant were very professional. If I could give him an A+++ rating I would! We will definitely use him again for any electrical needs.

Keith answered my initial call personally and came by within 2 hours. The entire socket (which was plastic) had to be replaced. He installed a new porcelain fixture. He was very pleasant and professional. I've given his contact info to some family members who need some electrical work. Overall, we were very pleased and will use him again for our electrical needs.

I was new to the area and didn't know who to contract with. I'd read/heard good things about Keith Capelle and so I had him come out and do an estimate. Initially, it seemed a little more expensive than I'd hoped - but in the end I had him and his crew do the job. As I watched their professionalism and came to terms with the reality of what I was asking them to do I was VERY happy I had chosen them for the work. Nobody likes to spend money when it isn't necessary, but I can honestly say I feel safer in the house knowing that the electrical was done right, it was fully inspected and properly done. I have no worries that I'll be having to deal with this later should I choose to sell. I ended up adding to the scope of work as I saw what they were doing and how well they were doing it. It's really nice to run into a guy you feel you can trust. Would recommend to anyone needing residential work. I will use them again!
Description of Work: Bought a new home and needed the electrical upgraded from the old fuse box to breakers, as well as doubling the amperage. I also had them run a sub-panel to the garage for a big air compressor and extra headroom for woodworking tools and equipment.

They are great, I have already scheduled to use this company again. From the beginning of my estimate appointment they have been great. Very personable, prompt, and reasonable. They walked with me through the house, looked at the plans for my remodel, took pictures, and even returned for a second look when they had questions on how it would be done. They were quick to give me an estimate and worked with us to arrange to do the work on our timetable. They kept us informed of all changes to time frame as well. Today they arrived promptly, and got right to work. They had to coordinate with RPU (our electric company) to shut off the power, and that went quickly and smoothly. They removed all the old electrical, from the pole all the way to, and including, our main breaker box. Then they worked on installing a new pole on the side of our house, going up through the roof to install. They installed a new meter box, breaker box, and 2 new outlets, one of which was our new stove outlet. They had to cut a hole in our deck, but you'd never know it because they reinstalled it so smoothly. It took all day, and they even had to call for parts to be brought out to them, but they kept going so that we could have power back today. They arranged the inspector, walked the inspector through every step they took, and coordinated with RPU to restore power. They helped change the cord on the stove when I went to buy one, and even moved it into place for us. They made sure everything worked before leaving. And they cleaned up afterwards, not a spec of mess or spare wire to be seen.
Description of Work: They changed out my entire main panel, changed the outlet next to the panel, and added a stove outlet.

I didn't get a written estimate and that was my mistake. A 10% add on to the bill of things that should have been included in the estimate is a little out of line.

The work went very well, in spite of frigid weather and a need to work around a lot of ice and snow. I didn't know that there would be so much outside work involved and was surprised to discover Keith had to shovel snow, chop ice, and crawl under the deck to change the exterior connections. No complaints from him! Burrrr! As the update progressed, a few changes to the plan were required that would add to the original estimate. Keith always checked with me and explained the issues before proceeding. The project took longer than anticipated, but the slightly increased costs hardly reflected the extra hours that Keith spent working at my house. I feel assured that the electrical system updates completed by Keith Capelle have made my house a safer and more pleasant place to live now and that future owners will value the improved capacity and security. In addition to competent work, fair charges, and attention to details, Keith Capelle is professional, flexible, and accommodating. He didn't seem to mind that I added a few extra items to his "to do" list, even if it required him to work late. It's a sure thing that I'll be calling him with any future electrical needs. I very highly recommend Capelle Electric.
Description of Work: A home inspection had alerted us to the need for some updates and corrections in the electrical components of our 50+ year old home. After meeting with several larger electrical companies, I chose Capelle Electric do the work. Keith Capelle updated the 60 Amp fuse box service in our home to a more capable and updated 200 Amp circuit breaker system. He also replaced a number of worn out outlets throughout the house, added GFI outlets in two outdoor locations as well as in the laundry room, and he installed a light fixture in a bedroom and a motion detector light on the back deck. He did all of the work himself, including arranging for the permit and inspections. A number of changes to meet code were needed, and Keith was very attentive to the details of those requirements.

The whole process went extremely well from start to finish. The permitting and inspections were appropriately scheduled, coordination with RPU for shutting power off and then back on was handled appropriately. At times, after consulting with Keith about things to add (new outlet near eat-in kitchen "island", new circuit to foyer wall sconce, new bathroom fan), the guys jumped in with both feet and accomplished the additional requests in an extremely professional and timely manner. They were courteous, worked around us with a minimum of intrusion, cleaned up well, etc. I can think of no way that their time here could be improved upon.
Description of Work: I can’t say enough good things about Capelle Electric. Owner Keith Capelle and his colleague, John, did terrific work at my house recently. The basic task was to convert the basic service to this 55 year old house from 60 amp service to 200 amp. This involved gathering up odds and ends of additional circuitry, fuse boxes, etc. that have been added over the years through addition of extra rooms, added furnace, AC, etc. A main breaker panel was installed in the garage in place of the original 4-circuit fuse box. Then a conduit was run to the "furnace" room in the house, where a "sub"-breaker panel was installed which then was used to collect the various circuits that had been added over the years. I also wanted to upgrade to code in the event that we may take action to market this old house in the future, and they were very diligent in adding GFI outlets where necessary (we had none), installing wired smoke/CO detectors, and replacing garage extension cords with conduits and junction boxes. On their last day here they successfully completed several extremely challenging tasks: wiring in a gas fireplace insert that previously had been powered through an extension cord, installing a new bathroom fan vented through the attic, and running a circuit to a wall sconce box in our foyer, which required substantial ingenuity and perseverance to get that accomplished. I highly recommend this company for any and all electric-related work that you need done.

Because the yard was a spiderweb of buried gas, cable and telephone lines (condo), the new line had to be trenched in by hand (about 65 feet). Working around bunches of unmarked buried cables (thanks, Gopher One Call!) undoubtedly added to the cost. Digging a trench through the entire length of the yard made for one heck of a mess (no way around it in such close confines). I was amazed that, after the workers tidied up the site, we could hardly tell that anything had been done! The new service drop was properly installed in plastic conduit (unlike the shoddy, "cost saving" work done by the original contractor), and everything is working just fine. Capelles Electric treats customers right and focuses on quality. The company actually turns down new construction work from builders that want cut-rate electrical work. In fact, if my condo's contractor had "done the job right" from the get-go, the $3000 repair would never have been necessary. With 24 units in my condo-plex, which power drop is next in line to fail... ?
Description of Work: My underground electrical service "drop" from the power pedestal in the front yard to the electrical meter box on my outer garage wall failed after seven years in the ground. Capelles responded immediately to my request for an estimate and worked with the power company and the city inspector to make a timely replacement.
