We would NEVER EVER recommend this company to anyone. We were told by the last two project managers that we are one of several such families dissatisfied with Integrity's work and ethics. We wonder how Roger lives with himself!
Description of Work: We employed Integrity Restoration January 21, 2013 following a house fire on October 19, 2012. We were never given a scope of work to be done. Delays were blamed on the insurance adjuster when in reality it was not the adjuster's fault. The owner, Roger Dowell, refused to return our calls. Workmanship regarding carpentry, flooring, painting: paint touch-ups are numerous and clearly show up in each instance as scuff marks on the walls of each room, flooring transitions were not completed until Nov. 7, 2013, the one carpenter who replaced some of the windows also replaced the siding around those windows but since he was fired, the owner refused to replace the siding around the remaining windows they replaced, nearly all trim work cut inaccurately and putty used to fill in the spaces, closet door in one bedroom was reset twice and was not fixed until 10 months later (first it fell off the track, then it was so crooked it couldn’t be shut), the laundry room door was hung with the wrong swing twice and now it is hinge-bound and the company representative states it is “from the air in the laundry room pushing the door out”-we know better, the kitchen cupboards were hung off center and when they rehung them they damaged the crown molding and we waited for that piece to be replaced for four weeks, they drilled the holes for four of the cupboard doors in the wrong spot and it was 10 weeks before they fixed this (took 2 wks. to order them so that was not the delay); because they allowed water and snow to come through the roof, the water ran through our bedroom floor, into the basement and mold grew (we have been here 26 years and NEVER have had any moisture problems) and Roger said it was fixed. To avoid responsibility they claimed it was from an old front step-again, NEVER had this issue in 26 years. There are so many more issues that it would take pages to address them all. The biggest issue we have had with this company is that Roger, the owner, refused to address issues with us and no one gave us a clear answer (office manager, project manager) as they always deferred to the owner. Roger did not respond to our messages. Roger promised us that we would be in the house by June 1, 2013. During the spring months we heard Roger tell us three times “I’ve been in business for 30 years…you’ll be happy with our work when we are done…” We could see that the work was not going to be done in time for a final move-in inspection and gave Roger five opportunities to change the move in date. We were not able to move in until June 14th, as the house was not ready. It still was not painted, flooring was not completed, we had to hang our clothing in the garage, and the kitchen was not completed. Roger had “the girls” -his words- clean the house before we moved in. When we got there, we found construction dust was still present on the closet doors, in the closets, carpet threads were present on the carpeting, and windows were streaked. When Roger, the owner, came to look at the house a few days later he stated, “The girls usually do a better job than this”-this was stated without us even saying anything about it. He also said, “This work is embarrassing” regarding the workmanship. That was the last time he communicated with us. As a result of them not completing the work (and constantly blaming the insurance adjuster with AllState who points the finger back at Integrity), we had to live in our house without ever knowing what day or time someone might arrive to work on the house. We asked repeatedly for a calendar/work plan/completion date and Roger refused to respond. When we talked to the project manager, his stock reply was, “I’ll have to talk with Roger” (the owner) and that always delayed any type of further response by the project manager by 4-7 days. Then we still wouldn't have an answer. We have documented our communication dates and specifics but so far Roger, the owner, has been unresponsive. We are not happy with the work that was promised and there was a clear lack of "integrity" or at least an honest commitment to complete the work well with a completion date. We hired Integrity in Jan. 2013 after delays unrelated to this complaint. We moved in again mid-June and the work was not completed to our satisfaction, but when they left our home for the last time on Nov. 7, 2013, we told the project manager we would only sign off on their work by meeting with the owner. We then received a bill from Integrity stating we had held onto a check for them from the insurance company. The insurance company made checks for the repair to the mortgage company and us jointly. We never received such a check as Integrity claimed and our insurance adjuster confirms this fact. Integrity has not communicated with us since.
