We have requested Angie's List to investigage this review. As anyone can see by our previous reviews, our company does RESIDENTIAL projects with very satisfied clients/customers. In the past we have had issues with competitor's changing our profile, placing false reviews, etc. Trinity Masonry & Concrete does both RESIDENTIAL and COMMERICIAL.

Description of Work: We needed some advice / potential work done on a concrete patio. Jeff was very informative and had a lot of suggestions. Above all he was very honest. We decided to put any work on hold but will definitely consider Trinity masonry for any future projects.

unfortunately though i thought Jeff was professional and would take care of us ......i have been continually given excuses as to why he can't make it over to fix the issues that have happened over the past year....we have called and called ....excuses as to why they can't make it here.........NOT IMPRESSED..........we should have been scheduled in this yr to have the crack in the garage fixed , they did not do that.....now the driveway has schaffing and concrete around the stairs heaved cause it was not done right and 3 mths now has passsed and we have continually tried to get them here to fix the issues..........As of Today when they were supposed to come again a phone call ........another excuse.........they could fix inside the garage and the shaffing on concrete if rain in the forecast they could come next day to do the cutting out the cement and repouring around them...NOT HAPPY!!!! Unprofessional far as i'm concerned on how past clients are taken care of.

Response from Trinity Masonry & Concrete, Inc.
The client contacted us in May requesting that we look at some problems they were having with their concrete. We were advised that Mr. is only home on weekends. We tried on numerous occasions to schedule a time to meet with the clients. Throughout the month of June we were advised that no one would be home as they were out of the area on business and family matters. We actually went back to this job site and performed some repair work around their stairway and went the extra mile and sealed the stairs. We were then contacted again in July requesting that we come 4th of July weekend. Unfortunately that did not conform to our employees’ holiday schedule. We had one other appointment tentatively scheduled but the weather did not cooperate. Our company feels that we performed expert workmanship at a very reasonable and somewhat low price. We do have issues with the client’s problems relative to the concrete. The following advice and guidelines are always given to clients: • For the First Two Days – Although your new concrete will become solid fairly quickly, it has little strength and hardness for the first two days. During that time, especially during the first 24 hours, keep all traffic off the concrete. Any damage to the surface of the concrete will be permanent. • For the Rest of the First Two Weeks – After two days, you can feel free to walk on your new concrete. It’s tough enough at that time to resist scars from walking. However, avoid twisting or skidding shoes on the concrete during that time, and keep bicycles, skateboards, and other toys off the surface. Do not drive on the concrete for the first 14 days. Leave the warning tape in place to let delivery vehicles and others know that they need to stay off your concrete. • After Two Weeks– after 14 days, it’s OK to drive on your new concrete with normal passenger vehicles, but we do not recommend large trucks, etc. Avoid driving near or across the edges of the driveway, though, since those areas are still weaker. Also, avoid skidding things on the driveway or dragging sharp objects on the driveway, since they can still scar the surface. • After 30 Days – When 30 days have passed, your new concrete will have developed almost all the hardness and strength it will have, and you can use it in any normal way. Trinity Masonry & Concrete finished pouring approximately 20 truckloads of concrete on a Wednesday at their job site. When we arrived at their residence that Friday (two days later) to inspect the site, we discovered that they had already been driving on the driveway and garage slab. We observed a large truck parked on the newly poured concrete. We do not believe that our company should be held accountable for damage done to the surface of the concrete when the client does not use common sense and does not comply with specific instructions.

Initial response to provide a proposal was good. Made recommendations for the intial design which were later modified to both reduce the overall costs and to accomodate the hydronic system installers requirements. They suggested materials and provided on-line links to view samples. The initial proposal that was provided was vague and I added some details (as verbally agreed to) to ensure we all had the same understanding as to the scope of work. Also stuck a clause from the proposal which requires the home owner to agree to pay all legal fees incurred by Trinity Masonry, win, lose or draw (could easily exceed the cost of most any project). Unsure if it was the detail added to the scope of work or the removal of the legal clause, but received an e-mail stating that they were withdrawing their proposal with no explaination as to why. Left a message asking for a return phone call but none has been received. Dealing with Trinity Masonry turned out to be a significant waste of my time and we are now back to square one and pushed into the busy summer construction period to try to complete our project.
Description of Work: Provided a proposal for removal of an existing concrete driveway and installation of a paver drive over a heating system installed by others.

Response from Trinity Masonry & Concrete, Inc.
We would like to respond to and dispute Mr. [member name removed]'s rating of our company. We provided him with a prompt and fair proposal for the work he requested. We had representatives and estimators from our company at his residence at least six different times. We never had any completed written or verbal agreements to our proposal/contract. We encouraged him to respond as soon as possible as our schedule for the time he requested the job commence was quickly filling up. We did not receive a reply for quite some time as apparently he could not make up his mind as to what type of heat source he wanted for his driveway. Once we received his response it was a counter proposal basically reducing the amount he would pay for the work (he had negotiated a price reduction verbally prior to the written proposal he drafted) and revising the project with a great deal of additional work without any additional compensation to our company. He was very specific in his requests. And although we always perform a project to the client's specifications, red-flags were raised at the amount of micro-managing he wanted to do on the job. The legal language he wanted to be removed is a clause our attorney drafted to protect our company if a client refuses to pay the amounts due and owing. It reads as follows: "If Trinity Masonry is compelled to commence legal action to enforce is rights pursuant to this agreement, Trinity Masonry shall be entitled to recover its reasonable attorney fees and costs of litigation relating to said legal action." We do not believe this language in any way states or infers that "win, lose or draw" the homeowner would pay all legal fees. Our legal counsel advised us not to enter into the contract if that language was removed. We informed Mr. [member name removed] that on our attorney's advice we were withdrawing our proposal. We do not believe any further explanation was required. Homeowners and all customers have the right to request bids and proposals from several contractors and choose which one they would like to hire. Likewise contractors have the right to choose who they would like to enter into contracts with and who they do not want to work with. After his inaccurate review and rating when we declined to work with him due to the revisions he made to the contract/proposal, we believe we made the right decision.
